  • Warm up your winter mornings with the heartwarming allure of traditional rice pitha recipes, a staple in the culinary heritage of Bangladesh, India, and their neighboring regions. Discover Bhapa Pitha, a cherished winter dish from the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent, including Bangladesh and Northeast India. This steamed rice cake, known as Tetli Pitha in Assam, is made from freshly ground rice flour, filled with a delightful blend of coconut and date molasses. It's a symbol of new beginnings, capturing the essence of winter mornings as the sun's rays break through the mist, warming the earth and the heart.
In the realm of winter comfort foods, Binni Chaler Gurer Pitha stands out with its unique blend of flavors. Made from the aromatic Binni rice, this pitha combines the grain's distinctive texture with the rich sweetness of jaggery. The process of making this pitha is a winter ritual, signifying togetherness and the joyous spirit of the season. As families gather to prepare this delicacy, it's not just about the taste but the shared moments and memories that are being created and cherished.
Completing the trio of winter specialities is Mera Pitha, known in some Bangladeshi regions as Mara or Daullah. Particularly popular in Sylhet and Mymensingh, this rice dumpling is a testament to the simplicity and depth of regional flavors. Combining rice flour, salt, molasses, and coconut, Mera Pitha is sometimes referred to as Gota Pitha or Bhapa Channai. Its preparation is a celebration of regional culinary diversity, bringing families together over the warmth of the clay stove, as the first rays of sun sparkle on the morning dew, creating soul-satisfying moments that are much more than just food - they're a cultural embrace.

Yes we Malaysian Indians also make them. At home it is steamed without putting the flour mixture into any type of mould. It can also be eaten with a little ghee or banana. The best part is all races in Malaysia like it.😅

😊I think Pithas and with coconut and jaggerry are common in all rice - eating states all over India !
I'm from Orissa ...and we make a variety of pithas , steamed , fried and similar to Dosas , I've friends from Andhra and Kerala , who make something similar , only they're named differently .
I recently learnt that ppl in Singapore also make a Pitha similar to the first one in this vdo , and it has a different name ..
To me it looks like everyone here ...is looking at the ' literal Elephant in the room ' only from a different angle !
Let's just enjoy the Pithas , by whichever name they're called wherever ..and celebrate the fact that we do share similarities in our cuisines ! It's called ' Unity in Diversity ' 😊

You are living in which year ?
      What is orissa
      Where are you living
      That is Odisha my state
These type of people are proper example of illiterate people of our state

    • @mayuripandu
      @mayuripandu Před 6 měsíci +2

      @@smartcitybhubaneswarodisha1743 As far as I recall it's still 2023 ..
And the last time I checked it's still my Orissa too !
Or let's put it this way,, we belong to Orissa !
And before I comnent further on whether I'm literate or not , I' ve one query ....
Which letter in our Odiya Alphabet has a ' SH' sound ?????
      Exactly !!!!!!!
So Jabardasti kahinki mu Orissa or Odissa re ' Sh ' lekhibi ? I'm someone who still uses ' common sense ' , something quite in short supply these days!
And ....with all due respect, where exactly do you get off, trying to dictate to me how I should spell the name of my state ????!!!!
      Like , Seriously!!??!!!!!
Now I guess the Answer to who's literate or not is plain.
Besides, if you do wish to write such adverse comments and try to 'insult' ppl by calling them 'illiterate ' , without knowing the first thing about them , do at least hv the gumption and grit not to write from the 'shelter' of a pseudonym!
And let's please focus on delicious Pithas instead of being so ' pedantic' about spellings !
      Dhanyabad!
