    I Understand what you feel Jaby. I am 17 years old. I am a average student, but I don't mock Toppers for working so hard, I learn from them and grow myself as a learner. At the end, they are just sad because they couldn't enjoy the journey of learning and were thrown into subject streams by their parents. Whereas, the so called "back benchers" never really cared about anything and just goofed around till then. I feel that it is only when life hits you in your mouth that you stop and realize what you are doing wrong, and that is where true growth and development can take place.

I'm saying this with my experience...I was always compared to topers, all rounder and cool kids when I was in school....like why you ain't like them...now I have stopped living on my parents expectations...its our life and we ourselves have full authority to decide what we want and no one mean NO ONE including parents has right to control.. they can be guider but not controller and demotivator.. if your BIL just want to claim his child is also like sharmaji ka beta to pls immediately call him out...this will also affect his psychology...it really hurts when your own parent just sees you as trophy so that they can have some immage....n I hate such parents.

    If someone who is not that good at studies bcoz clearly not interested in it. Whose parents are also lower middle class for to say and he doesn't have options than to study and get a job or college after 12th. If in future, India did get succeeded as one of the country where almost everyone is having a good life or a decent life, then what ? No one will ask about what happened to that person in this vast population. That's Life. This is what happens , because that person lost hope.“Remember. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” - Andy Dufresne, Shawshank Redemption.

So instead of dropping out again , i decided to explore my options but i do hear some of my relatives convincing me to just keep working for the same even tho i don't want to. The problem is for years, Indians have prioritized certain career options like Engineers, Doctors, CAs and expect their children to choose (or not even) among them. While other careers are disregarded in the name of not having scope.

But still, at that time I was stressed too cause in my dream college St. Stephen's you have to clear an interview round also which was not at other colleges in Delhi Uni. Also when you enter college the environment is completely different and also many soc and events groom the student in such a way that it is really unimaginable. 16:32 true. Its not like there is a lack of variety of jobs in India. People just choose not to opt for them because its risky. They'd rather join the rat race and get into a mainstream field because everyone wants a guaranteed, steady income. I thought that India was finally opening up to new carriers but the overwhelming majority still opts for the mainstream science or commerce. which is ironic because theres actually a shortage of doctors here. while we're on the subject, there are so many indian channels on youtube. but only a handful manage to take off like Slayy Point or Carryminati did. Same for the other options. A lot of interesting fields are actually unheard of because hardly any people wanted to join them.

    Rowdy guys are also the ones who succeed in fields that actually run the world - politics and business.
    Meanwhile most toppers (who have a reserved, non-social character) get into good paying jobs or professions, working under someone else who has a rowdy/confident character.

    • @morgoth8815
      @morgoth8815 Před rokem +13

      What you're doing is Survivorship bias, Very small amount of rowdy guys actually make when compared to toppers. I met my seniors last year who were part of IITG cse 2016, nearly every single one of them were Millionaire, does not guarantee that every person here is going to be one but does mean that there is high probabilty of people here being more successful than average. Similarly being a rowdy , there is much lower chance of getting as much success, though you can still become succesful. Also only those who are successful are being highlighted in the media. But u don't get to see the faces of millions who have regretted not working hard enough in their academic years.
