    Class D is here to stay, as a long time class AB big 240W+ amp user, my recent acquisition the SMSL SA400 has be pleasantly surprised by its performance in a small package. The quality of sound from it is truly good.

    These compact class D amps are performing great. Even better than some amplifiers which sells at way higher price.

    I use the cxa81 in my second set up & its pretty good, same as the cxa61. Think the ls50's are 4 ohm.; bet they go well with the cambridge amp.
    Topping do offer good value for money. thanks for posting ✌😎👍

    Now let's see how the topping fares against fosi v3, that's the ultimate budget question.

    after their clusterfuck with the original PA5 and how they handled it, and the reasons behind it, Topping won't be getting a dime from me probably never again

      What happened?

    • @praetor47
      @praetor47 Před 10 měsíci

      @@wicommsthey played smartypants and totally fucked up, encasing their module in epoxy, which of course lead to the module overheating and dying. a lot. repeatedly. and were unable to diagnose it for months, pretty much never made any decent public outing, just appoint a totally and completely useless CS "rep" on the ASR forum. and, btw, the problem was discovered and rectified by a forum member, and not their awesome engineering team who were aware of a serious problem existing for MONTHS (i know cause i had one)
      so, the first PA5 has a known issue that makes it a timebomb (if you have one, it WILL die sooner or later unless you fix it yourself), and Topping instead of making a recall and offering the PA5 revision 2 in exchange what do they do? they keep quiet, let unaware PA5 owners keep the amp that will inevitably fail outside warranty, and release a "new and improved" version so that the poor souls who will financially eat Topping's mistake have another new shiny thing to spend their hard earned money on
      it speaks volumes of them how they handled this situation. a good company would've simply made a PA5 v2, made it clear it was a revision with a (serious) problem fixed, and offered free exchanges. a scummy company like Topping, will just ignore it and release a new product with great charts and nothing else
