the first time i heard this song was when i was in middle school. i'd always been an aly & aj fan growing up, but i hadn't listened to their music in a while, so i was surprised when this song popped up in my suggestions. i was one of the "popular" kids but i was extremely lonely, depressed, and i felt like i was trapped in a cycle of putting on a show by saying and doing things that were not a reflection of my heart. i immediately knew i was meant to hear this song. from that very moment, i decided to become the person i wanted to be---the real me. i unfriended the people who didn't align with my soul and set down the path of showing up as my authentic self. that path was rocky at times, very rocky, but i became the happiest i'd been in years and i even influenced some of my old friends. i'm now 23-years-old, and i always come back to this song to remind myself of these lyrics. to this day, i get chills and cry over the lyric, "I am sending you a message" like it's the first time all over again. Thank you God for this message! He truly is never far behind. my FOREVER friend! 💗🤍💘
