  • The Bratz are a group of girls who are artists, spies, and... baby superheroes who fight potato aliens?! The Bratz movies are definitely crazy, and here are some of the best Letterboxd reviews for them.

5:57 I am SO glad someone agrees with me that the last few minutes were horrifying. My sibling and i watched Bratz Kids sleepover on our own as kids ourselves. and while the majority of the movie was fun, the last few minutes were so jarring and upsetting that we took the rental to our mom and politely explained. "this was scary, we never want to see it again"
Ive always wondered if perhaps it was a cute twist and i was just a naieve, easily frightened kid, but no, i was right. it was terrifying for no reason. Thank you for this validation, i can rest easy knowing that it was just genuinely upsetting, at least for a little kid.

@@emma7933 if I recall correctly, after the girls are done telling their stories of dangerous monsters, something happens and 3/4 of them start rapidly transforming into the monsters from one of the stories. I don't recall any warning for it, and due to the uncanny nature of bratz animation it was super frightening, with the implication that they jad only hung out with (I believe it was jade) to try and hunt her. I remember at the end all of them wander off into the streets to continue the cycle of terror. Jade possibly having been turned into one of them??? Its been so long I'm definately missremembering most of it.
I don't recall any warnings or signs or hints to it in the movie so it came out of left field, and for a little kid it was hooooorrific.

A few notes about Bratz: starrin’ and stylin’:
The character designers lightened Sasha’s skin so much when she’s a dark-skinned black girl in the 3D animated movies. She looks unrecognisable, and it should be a downright crime for how light they made her.
No one has noses. If the style was more simplistic in an adventure time sense, this would be no issue. But that isn’t the case and it makes the character’s look awful. Adding onto that, the animation is so wonky and people’s body types change drastically depending on what position they’re in. Jade’s legs become disjointed sticks when she’s sitting down, and it’s hard to ignore. Plus everyone has massive lips. Nothing to say about that one.
Yasmin was a snake for absolutely no reason in this movie. If she hadn’t of been caught, she would’ve continued to trash her friends behind their backs. Interesting choice for one of the main characters of the movie. That’s literal villain behaviour.
Jade was the best character and her friends are dicks for saying her desired prom look was bad. It was better than whatever trash she had on for the prom at the end.
Other than these details, I vaguely remember the girls getting into a car accident and nothing else from this movie.

I couldn’t tell you anything about the plot of that game, other than it was about their band I think. It took place in a mall. Everything that you needed, everywhere you needed to go, and everyone you needed to talk to were all in random obscure places that were hard to find-especially since I didn’t have a map and the mall was stupidly big and way too detailed for a GameCube game.

Bratz sleepover was honestly the most terrifying thing ever. Like I already had a fear of my reflection coming out to kidnap and replace me from Bloody Mary and that just fed my fears. Then that very last part hit and I was terrified to say the least I was way too scared to get out of bed. Im actually scared to get out of bed right now just thinking about it

On the 12th day of Christmas the bratz gave to me...
    1 alien abduction
    2 evil triplets
    3 byron Powell's
    4 iconic bedazzled bootcut jeans
    5 evil ginger cowgirls
    6 road trips
    7 ghost stories
    8 flying cows
    9 subway chases
10 evil hitch hikers with missing jaws
    11 (3) attempted murders
And 12 pairs of diamond boooooots

The only Bratz thing I remember watching was a 2D animation, don’t know whether it was an episode or a movie, where the baby Bratz had pets and went to a mall and some jerk kid stole their pets and they had to get them back. I remember I loved it a lot for some reason? I can’t remember what it was called though, please do more of these with the Bratz and include the one I talked about if you can.

Bratz Babyz: The Movie! That’s what it was called! And it was only one friend who had a pet, the summary is so fucking funny: Four girls must teach a bully a lesson after the lad steals a puppy from their friends. Like, the brats are not named there but the bully is called ‘the lad’ and that’s just, wild to me

1:19 - Kind of like how Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood" (starring Russel Crowe) was a boring 2.5 hour political drama / origin story. He doesn't "become" Robin Hood until like, the last 2 minutes of the film, and the movie ends with "and thus the legend of Robin Hood begins"
