I just purchased the Athlon Ares 15x60x56 and mounted it on my Vudoo V22-360 (Gen 3). I'm 74 with old eyes. I only shoot 50 and 100 yds and I gotta say this optic is FANTASTIC! I have a Golden Eagle on my Vudoo V22-S Single shot and I have to say, in my opinion, the glass is as clear and brighter in the Athlon at higher magnifications! I agree with you on the reticle. I like it better than the Vortex. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy the Athlon over the Golden Eagle.
I want to look through that new ares. Athlon just doesnt disappoint. You went the opposite of me, i started in f open then moved to nrl22 and prs centerfire. Long as we are all shooting and having fun ❤
Ive had a Vortex Golden Eagle, a Nightforce, Im currently using a Delta Stryker 5-50x56 on one rifle and a Zeiss S5 on the other. I sure like your new Bipod. Im shooting the Berger Juggernaut 185 in one rifle and the Berger 200gr 20X in the other. You have a nice setup.

I’m new to FTR going in with a savage model 12. I wanted to know with regards to barrel shape if most FTR shooters use a heavy varmint or bull barrel and lighten up on everything else?
can you tell me what the weight of the McMillan XR stock is? Im looking for a stock to build on trying to find under 3.75lbs or less for FTR build. thx Eric

I bought one because I looked through yours Bill. I think the glass in this is as good or better than my Cronus.

I have two Delta Stryke. in 5-050x56 I prefer them over the Nightforce and Vortex Golden Eagle .

You will need to get a wood stock or run a lighter barrel. 4.4 lbs on my stock
