Are the shops and restaurants in these quaint villages open in December? I am planning a trip to these villages.
Many of them will probably be closed in December… there are mostly only the locals left that time of year. If you’re looking for something more lively in Provence in winter, we suggest you check out Aix-en-Provence. Among the villages we’re showing, we would assume Bormes and Cotignac to be the ones with the most open shops/restaurants in December
I am planning to visit lavender field on May 9th . Is it a good time to go there ?
Hey, no, not a good time unfortunately: the lavender will only start to bloom at the end of June… the best time is July!
Hi i am travelling to Nice from 18 to 19 April, i want to get around Eze, Monace, Antibes Canness how to i get around is there any travel pass for 3 days ?
Yes, here’s a pass that would work for you: www.ter.sncf.com/sud-provence-alpes-cote-d-azur/tarifs-cartes/bons-plans/pass-sudazur-explore-en
Pass Sud Azur Explore
@@rivierago is it online or i can buy physically from Nice too ?
@@zabashhd459 you can buy it physically in an agency in Nice (and other cities), please check the link we sent earlier, it tells you where there are agencies
Is there no way to get to these villages by train?
No, unfortunately, not that we are aware of… they are in the middle of nowhere. For Bormes-les-Mimosas you can take the train to Hyères, but it’s still around 20 min by car from there
@@rivierago Ah okay. I think I will try to go to some of the other villages you mentioned in a different video, perhaps taking a train from Aix or maybe I will have to take buses. I really like the look of Gordes and Baux de Provence and Moustiers Saint Marie.
They are lovely, all three of them! We haven’t yet shown Gordes and Les Baux, since from where we‘re based (near Nice) it’s quite the trip. But we‘ve been there, of course, and they are stunning!
@@rivierago ah okay, I must have seen them on another channel!
Do you have an email address that I could contact you at? I have several questions that I think you two would be excellent at answering for me. I’ll be in Nice in May to help my sister with her new apartment.
Hey, thanks for your confidence… we unfortunately don’t have much spare time, but please send us a DM on Instagram and we‘ll see what we can do for you 😅
What is your definition of tacky shops left and right? I see plenty in this video, overrated overpriced, but fake characters
We said „mostly touristy but not tacky“ for the shops in Bormes and we mean it! Of course it’s touristy stuff, but mostly of a certain quality, not what you would find in those souvenir shops lining certain streets in Paris with cheap plastic things all Eiffeltower.
You can find hand crafted local pottery for example, local fabric etc. Yes, there may also be the odd lavender sachet coming from China, but that’s why we said „mostly“ 😅
