Watching Rick since I was in high school back in the 90’s. Love him and his show!
I visited Provence and Avignon in 1995. What a magnificent walk on a broken bridge that evening.
Comfort program. That's what it is. When I feel bad, mentally or physically, I watch Rick Steve's programs.
I do, too!
me too !!
Same.
right there with you. When I'm anxious, this is my show.
As a Malayali, Me too. We have our own version of Rick Steve's Called Santhosh George Kulangara and Sancharam
In the time of corona... I travel around the world with Rick Steves.
Me too
I too travel with rick just relaxing in my bed. Thanks to corona. The world is nothing without smart phones.
Me too, zu Haus Urlaub
Same here!
So do I. Thank you Rick.
They really don't make travel/history documentaries like Rick Steve's anymore. He is very articulate and able to get the most information from each region.
In Detroit Art Institute I would go as a child with my grandparents to see George Pierrot travel lectures. Instilled the love of cultures, history, as well as the joy of travel.
No travel vlogs can top Rick Steve's. They remain the most comprehensive, giving the viewers a clear perspective of the places' history, culture, arts and tradition.
So true. Others are amateurish by comparison.
I liked rick steves when i was little. I used to rent his videos from the library.
I bicycled in Europe from 1993 to my last bike trip there in 2010. This particular episode brought back great memories; Provence was by far my favorite area; the food, the wines, the markets, the joie de vivre of the people. I really miss that part of Europe. I hope I get a chance to go back one day, as soon as it is safer to travel.
Just love Rick Steve's travel videos some video makers will give you silent sights of beautiful places but Rick brings them to life...... just the best.
This guy is an American treasure, up there with Bob Ross and Mr Rogers
Kevin Caldwell agreed
@Thomas Farrell maybe not so much anymore.
and Liberace
@Thomas Farrell
Shalom Aleichem
Peace and love....
I think Rick Steves and Fred Rogers are at least a stdev of IQ above Bob Ross though? Not saying they're geniuses, but they're much smarter than Ross.
Great Work by Rick Steves. Europe is full of Majestic Scenery and wonderful History. I love Europe. Especially France.
I love everything about Europe. Ever since I was little I’ve wanted to travel to Europe. Like you said, the scenery and history are just fascinating. The first country on my list is Germany.
Southern France in summer seems like one of most relaxing places.
Especially Biarritz?!
Reminded me about Mr. Bean's Holiday.
Paradise on earth!
The villages are crowded in summer
It is you can trust me
I am from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. France is my favorite Europeen country to travel the little roads. You make great vlogs, tnx!
I loved this. I am currently in the south of France for school visiting from the united states, and this has helped me so much.
Rick Steves is truly helping me get through this pandemic. A year ago I was traveling europe, and now I'm rewatching his show for the 2nd time
That's it. I'm gonna live to France's southern is so beautiful, feels like another realm of existence, the atmosphere is so different, refreshing, relaxing.
France is a really nice country. I mean Paris nowadays is too crowded with thousands tourists whenever I go but other less popular areas such as Brittany, Provence, Loire Valley, and the countryside are like living in a fairy tale. Definitely one of my most favorite travel destinations.
Don't forget The Dourgone.
The woman helping him with the wine is wonderful! Very knowledgeable and gracious❣️☮️♥️‼️🥰
Very comforting to watch and listen. I fall asleep listening to his voice as I travel along with him.
Definitely best travel videos on CZcams! Rick Steves Undisputed and undefeated world champ🏆🥇
He should have visited Cassis. It's only 40 minutes south of Aix. It was definitely worth the trip if you're traveling in Provence. The Calanques in Cassis were the most beautiful place we visited in Southern France.
Rick Steves' voice is so relaxing & therapeutic
+Spencer Kilpatrick it is--but then, so is Milk of Magnesia--

You should plan for a trip after COVID!

His voice is so smooth and relaxing. I've jumped one to another video listening to his beautiful voice.
There was a lady who lived in Arles, France who died at the age of 122 in 1997. The longest lived person who age has been verified. She knew the artist Vincent Van Gogh.
That's incredible!
+Bill Bergendahl Jeanne Calment. It's her name.
yes indeed! If you can find the director's edition of "Lust For Life" (the Kird Douglas film about the life of the artist van Gogh,he relates how while fiming in a cafe (frequented by Van Gogh); Jeanne Calment saw Douglas and reacted as if she had seen a ghost! Douglas physically resembled Van Gogh-and Mrs. Calment recalled that she had seen van Gogh in the same cafe, over 70 years before!
In 2019, they are now questioning her age. Hopefully, she really was that age.
Mme Clement, 127...
France, Italy, Spain and Portugal are icons of the Roman empire that show the world Latin culture is the best

Spent two Summers in the South of France in the 1970’s. Loved it. Haven’t ever been to Paris, but Paris doesn’t sound like my kind of place.....prefer smaller towns with less tourists. 👍.
Just came back from a trip to Nimes, Arles & Avignon inspired by Rick !
This was my first visit & I just fell in love with these romantic places :)
Thanks again for putting up the show of great old Roman architectures and the people around.
Rick's shows are the most decent and lovely travel shows to watch. When I need to clear my head I go to his videos. Like the old commercial "Calgon, take me away".... "Rick, take me away!"
Rick does an excellent thumbnail of the history of places steeped in history.
LOVE THE BLOODLESS BULL FIGHTS.
Learnt so much watching your videos Rick. Thank you so much for this library of inspiration.

Parfait Steve. Merci beaucoup. Tres bon. 🙏
This is an ideal way to travel during the Corona virus pandemic. Thanks Rick so very much.
this was one of Rick's finest work. I have to say his guide books are really well put together. Im considering buying a few.
I have a so many of his travel books which are well written and even give a bit of local insight. I also highly recommend his phrase books if you're visiting somewhere that speaks another language. It's broken down so well along with how to pronounce it of you speak english
Recently i hike all the way from Lyon to Arles next to the Rhone river ! Fantastic place rich in culture and the people very friendly

I was upset by seeing the bullfight at the start. But this is friendly bullfight, i would watch :D
Catpaw Productions exactly, it is just a bit playing with the bull, no violence. I hate when the spaniards neighboors finish to kill the bull, it is useless
i wouldn't even call it a fight, more like a game! no one gets hurt, if only world leaders were allowed to play this same way, oh human being, you own the show so lets rid earth of hate and pollution once and For All!!!
Mat Seg
The bull is also eaten in Spain and no part of it goes to waste to which you will reply to me that it still doesn’t make it right. I won’t get into what’s right or wrong in judging a centuries old tradition that dates back to Roman times. It is what it is.
Eat meat? What do you think happens at a slaughterhouse? Much worse for all involved.
Traditionally in Arles and Nîmes, or in the Camargue, the bulls are never killed. Just a game of skill between men and the bulls.
Gorgeous!
Provence great views food history museums place to savour .Agree light good ?Love this area 2021.
Thanks for the video! I spent 3 weeks driving in the Provence in 1991. A beautiful place.
I only stay in Nîmes on my way to and from Spain, but it's a great place to wander round, and have a relaxing meal in the evening.
Hermoso vídeo, como siempre nos maravilla con anotaciones de otras culturas y bellos paisajes. Gracias
This is way back 2004.
That's why people have no smartphones. 😅
Gracias Rick, por las recomendaciones, estuve con my familia en Paris, versalles y algunos pueblos franceses, via Suiza ¡Inolvidable Francia!!
Saludos desde Miranda, Venezuela!!
Arles is also known as the home of Jeanne Calment. The longest lived person who's age has been verified. She passed away in 1997 at the age of 122. She knew Vincent Van Gogh.
