  • I’ve been asked over the years if the Wondermega and the 32X works. Here’s my video showing what I found out.

    How did you manage to wire it up? The Wondermega doesn't use a traditional Genesis AV out port.
    EDIT: Saw a different video of yours, you added that port. Okay, that makes WAY more sense now.

      Yeah in order for this to work, your Wondermega needs to be RGB out modded. Forgot to mention this in the video.

    OMG you broke the lid mechanism?
    At the beginning of this video I was thinking to myself I wouldn't allow a 32X anywhere near the WM! I understand why you did it though.
    But Yikes.

      I thought it did, but it actually needed a belt replacement. Works like new again.

    Where did you get your shelving? I'm looking for something to put my D24 and D32 on - and it looks like what you have is pretty strong

      I did some research on the heavy duty shelving that can hold up to a few hundred pounds per shelf. Check out the Seville Classics wire shelves on Amazon. They're not the best looking, but they hold the weight they need to.

    What did you do to fix your CD tray belt?? Mine is having the same issue where it doesn't want to exactly open right. Please let me know, thanks!

    I would still need to modify the CD Door if I wanna play Sega CD 32X games with this combo.

    Which has better video output, the Wondermega or the 32x?

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  Před 2 lety +1

      I would say they look the same. The only problem with the 32X is without a recap, there could be a lot of visual noise.

    What is better in your opinion - D-Theater or Laserdisc (LD)?

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  Před 2 lety

      Hmm that's tough. If I had just the 20L5, I would say Laserdisc. However, since I have the D24, I would say D-Theater for sure.
      The image quality of a D-Theater tape playing on 1080i on a D24 is breathtaking.

    Guys, can you please recommend the best TV for the ordinary MD1?

    • @Ex_Savior
      @Ex_Savior  Před 4 lety +2

      That's a very broad question. There really isn't the best TV for anything really. That's all subject to personal opinion. I think you should ask yourself a few things before asking the above such as: Are you asking about the best consumer or professional grade crt? Are you asking about a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio monitor? Do you care about line count? Are you a purist looking to connect the MD via RF or Composite rather than S-VIdeo or Component/RGB? Again, very broad question with many answers.

      @@Ex_Savior whats that sony device above your tv ?

    • @maxrichards5925
      @maxrichards5925 Před 2 lety

      @@stpworld I believe the one he is using is one of those BVM/PVM’s, which are a line of professional monitors used for broadcasting, security, & health equipment back when they were manufactured. These can go for a couple thousand dollars & there’s so many to chose from. I don’t recommend these unless your a purist who wants a crt only but then you should just get a consumer crt with either s-video ports or RGB scart. The way to get the best picture does not matter when picking a display to use for it. It comes down to cables & possibly converters such as a retro tink 2x which I’ve found to be a great budget friendly option. RGB is the sharpest picture you can get which are in the form of Scart cables. There are also component cables made by HD retro vision which I’ve heard good things about as well. If you plan on using a crt, make sure it has the right inputs on the back for the cables you either have already or plan on using soon. Remember that the sega genesis model 1 & the genesis model 2 have a completely different port on the back which means you’ll have to get the right cables for the right genesis. The model 1 has a larger din and the model 2’s is smaller. If you plan on using a 32x, the same rules apply with the patch cable & won’t work if you have the wrong patch cable for the genesis you’re using. The AV output port on the 32x is the same as the model 2. If you have any other questions, I’m happy to help!

    If I remember correctly you have to put a switch on 32x to plays either ntsc/us games OR pal games, just 2 points to connect (50/60hz)
    and everdrive should run sega-cd games without even the machine connecter or drive fully working, everdrive only needs 32x system but can play sega-cd games without real machine

    Wondermega loose sell for $1000~$1500, I would *NOT* do any kind of physical mod of it's casing at all! Good news is Krikzz is developing a Mega Everdrive Pro *2* that supports running 32X roms and Sega CD Iso along with genesis and Megadrive roms as an all in one solution.
    so a 32X unit would not be needed as that would be handled by the FPGA chip(s) and software hard coding in the new
    Mega Everdrive Pro 2"
