    Very good video, clear and concise. Did my Hyundai Tucson 1.7 crdi TLE, which looks a very similar engine, this morning, after watching your video. Been having trouble starting in this recent cold weather, which was explained by the fact that only one plug was working. Managed to get all four out, without incident. Only thing I would add is that I put a small amount of copper grease on the threads of the new plugs to help next time. Thank you for posting the video.

      Big mistake to use copper grease, due to the interacting with the aluminium alloy.. that should have been never seize "carbon graphite based".. just saying ;-)

    Excellent video, great detail. i have found hard to start in the cold weather after watching video changed glow plugs very easily, car now starts a lot easier. the only difference i found is there is some sort of protection shield on my 2017 i30 connected to the injector bar above glow plugs replaced back in same place, there are also three nuts connecting the injector bar on mine. keep up the videos.👍😄

    @peppermintyfreshness Před rokem +4

    If you have a multimeter you can ground one lead near to the plugs and put the other lead onto the actual plug tip and if you have a reading over 5 ohms it's a good idea to replace that plug. (One, two or 3of them could be fine)

  • @paulroberts5687

    Great video, did mine on a 2016 i30. A few subtle differences, extra plugs on the harness and slightly different to remove the injector bar. But pretty much the same process. Plugs came out nice and easy, put ceramic grease on the thread of new plugs so next time they should come out just as easily.

    Hi DIYKhan,
    my Kia venga has almost the same arrangement but the area where the heat shield covering the turbo charger and the bar is covered by the rain water panel. So it's therefore a difficult job unless you know what you are doing and having the right tool

    • @diykhan
      @diykhan  Před 8 měsíci

      There isn't much space at the back of engine and also each glow plug is threaded on to cylinder block so u will have to take the bar off.

      It might be the lever arm broken behind the panel in the footwell. I just had same issue on Kia Venga. Plastic “welded” it with a soldering iron.

      Turn the ignition on and their is orange light on the left side of the dashboard wait for it to go off count to about 10 seconds then turn the key to start the engine it will start up alot easier as the glow plug needs a bit of time to warm up a bit I have the same problem but don't be turning the ignition to start the car while it's cold because it will keep turning with no ignition
