    • @bananatiergod
      @bananatiergod Před 4 lety +74

      It's not really treating him like a friend. It's more like a pet. The way he tries to lull him into a 'sense of security' with pizza and beer is like someone trying to calm their dog down with treats when they're in a bad mood. It's his warped version of showing kindness to him and it makes my skin crawl so bad.

    • @legoworksstudios1

      Typically it's called grooming. Todd can downplay and fraternize as much as he wants. It keeps Jesse in place. If he doesn't have a reason to fight back, he won't. Eventually, the case becomes Stockholm syndrome and the captive attaches themselves to the captor. Of course, only a weak mind would try such a thing. Jesse proved his mettle, but it cost him a good night's rest in the process. How he recovers is up in the air

      @Timothy Hodnett I'm glad you're such a big fan of BB, but it doesn't really have great rewatch value for me at all. I haven't seen a single episode in BB in more than 3 years and yet I fully remembered all the references and easter eggs in El Camino.
      Do you not feel bored rewatching such a plot-driven drama? BB is definitely awesome the first watch - probably the most binge-worthy show ever, along with Lost.
      However, El Camino did not feel like it was written by the same folks who wrote the main series. Maybe Gilligan should've collaborated with the other great writers from the mains series. More plot occurs in a fraction of a normal BB episode than the El Camino film.
      Finally, the one thing that is supposed to move the plot forward is absolutely ridiculous - that Ed, the Disappearer as you call him, would give up close to a $250k payday because it was short $1,800?
      That's the whole plot - Jesse has to confront the Welders because Ed apparently failed 3rd grade arithmetic.

    Since this film was shown in a few theatres, I am campaigning for Aaron Paul to receive an Oscar nomination, along with Joquien Phoenix and Tom Hanks for A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood. That film hasn't even come out yet, but let's be honest, we all know Hanks will be phonomenal in it.

    As a resident of Albuquerque, it's amazing to see what filmmakers use around the state to double for other locations.

    Number 2 should’ve been when Jesse talked to his parents

    I agree with the list, however, I would have put Skinny Pete's farewell a bit higher up. Maybe 3-4. That was an enormously touching scene. I actually teared up. It was one of the few relationships from Jesse's past that didnt explode or end in a miserable death. It was also major growth on Pete's part I think, I loved it.

    Good epilogie to the series.
    But disappointed on not showing present conditions Walt Jr, Skyler and Mary.

    I like that Jesse ultimately saw Mike as his father figure in the end instead of Walt. He saw that Mike had more morality to him as well as meaning to his word. Walt was more or less chaotic neutral while Mike was lawful neutral.

    Completely agree with number 1. It was the most powerful scene in the movie. Most kidnappers/abductors would have gone ballistic in that moment. Todd just calmly talks Jesse out of what would, more than likely, have been a very bad decision (remember, Jesse was in the back of the vehicle, and had no idea where they were, or how to get back to civilization). Revealing Todd to be a disturbed sociopath was not surprising at all. We all already knew that. Revealing him to be someone with a hint of compassion was absolutely genius and shows why Vince Gilligan is a master storyteller. Finally, the performance by Aaron Paul in that scene was amazing.
