- Tears of the Kingdom is fast approaching, and I have a lot of hopes for this highly anticipated sequel. So in this video I'll be going over 25 things I hope will be included! Revisiting Breath of the Wild and working on this video has been a lot of fun, and I'm actually a lot more excited for TOTK now. Thanks for Watching!

I hope that there are much more villages and settlements. It would be cool to see that after breath of the wild, people started to rebuild and expand the other towns. It would make revisiting Hentino village that much cooler if there were a few other streets now, and more settlers. Or heading to a stable, but now it has a farm and some houses, or Castle town and those destroyed villages are being rebuilt and as you progress in the game, the reconstruction progresses as well.
Absolutely this ^^^
It would be cool seeing Torrey town being a full on city, expanding even after you left
I hope they add more memorable music throughout the lands. It'll make the game feel more alive. The only problem with BOTW is the "breath" part. I think it's okay to be a little louder and in your face with the music.
@@user-io7be9dz3r some Slayer while slaying Bokoblins would be cool👍
Yeah me too but im a little scared it will be the opposite with how dark and lonely this game is looking in the trailers
I think it would be cool to have a stats page in the menu where it would list lots of info like: How many Bokoblins you've killed or how many arrows you've spent or how many miles you've traveled, your best time for taking out an enemy camp. There's a hundred things they could list.
I think it would be a fun addition.
Also would be useful for things like speed runs or records!
I 100% agree
kinda like what they did with smash
Amount of bokiblins I've killed: too many
This is not COD where it lists all your kills. Stupid idea.
Something I hope they add is more personal aesthetic variety. I liked how botw gave you so many armor sets and the dye feature and I hope that in the new game they expand on it and it won't be as limited.
I need more hairstyles for Link SO BADD
Praying we get vanity slots for armor
One of my Hope's is that we would get Proper Zelda Dungeons! I've had a lot of fun playing the dungeons in Ocarina of Time.
lol no fuck puzzles
I have only tried BOTW, can u share what’s the difference between BOTW shrines and Ocarina’s dungeons?
@@happyleaf9635 ocarina of times dungeons were alot longer, and a bit more complicated and most of the dungeons needed an item to advance which would youd either find inside the dungeon or somewhere in hyrule
Yea, that's definitely my biggest negative about BotW. The different dungeons just seemed soulless compared to the amazing dungeon design in other Zelda games. If only they've gotten as much love as Hyrule in this game.
the best dungeons were in skyward sword and twilight princess, its hard to decide which one had better dungeons.
i would extremely love for them to add more villages or towns
Agreed! I loved discovering most of the villages but with the overworks being so huge, I felt it was kind of wasted. I get that it was supposed to show how desolate the world was but I really hope they utilize it more than just finding items and killing enemies.
But, but didn't you see the trailers? Hyrule is in worse shape, why are you expecting more people in towns? You should have expected that they already evacuated or something.
@@rhovrox9291 also in the trailers there are hints at more settlements, did you see the small camps in hyrule castle town
I would like to add more meaningful side quests. I would love side quests where you would need past Zelda items such as the hook shot or mirror shield to complete it. A nice throwback.
Agreed! Most of the side quests felt pointless to me and didn’t really add much to the story
I think we need a 4 minute trailer that will provide quick answer to our questions on whether or not there's underwater by showing a brief gameplay of underwater exploration and if there's any dungeons, they should probably show off brief exploration in a few of the dungeons. This could also include the map being expanded underground which includes deep abysses
I think we could get a 15 minute Nintendo Direct solely on this game like 6 weeks before release which will probably show more details on the game and dlc and amiibo etc
@@mubzytv i think that’s a little too much information, and that way you will literally be spoiled of what happens in the game before you even play it. I would way 1 week before release is a better time, and also tone down the information given so that when we play we play as spoiler free as possible.
Playable Zelda please
Firstly part of the mystique of all zelda games and their marketing is the "legend" part of the games, the mystery of forgotten/hidden knowledge etc, so them being vague about things is exactly what they have always done as to allow the players to speculate before release and then to have that "zelda feeling" when they play it, the feeling only zelda games really have, that feeling of really not knowing WTF is behind the next door, a true adventure.
Secondly BotW was a literally leap of them stepping (backwards) in a new direction of the franchise, reimagining it. As well as it was at the ass end of the WiiU life cycle and delayed for switch launch. They showed off lots of pre release development footage and the full treehouse gameplay of the plateau to try and warm the fans into the new direction the franchise was going.
Thirdly, since then nintendo have come to a point where they are solely doing their own marketing via direct (possibly be at E3 as well) and have made some sort of decision to only market games a few months before release, I assume so as to cut marketing budgets as well as the new trend of online marketing being the most profitable way to market games.
I would expect a large nintendo direct in the next few weeks focused solely on TotK, maybe in march.
I think 4 mins to music
I want a handful of dungeons that are like Hyrule Castle. Lots of passageways, lots of hidden secrets, mini bosses scattered around. Honestly I feel like everyone criticizes the divine beasts as weak entries for zelda dungeons, but forgets that Hyrule Castle is quite possibly one of the best dungeons in the series. Very much a standout part of the game for me.
What I didn’t like about the Zelda’s castle was the map which was terrible (in my opinion)
But I do agree, it was a cool dungeon
@@saavage321 I'll definitely agree with that, I practically didn't even bother referring to it lol
One thing I'd like to see is the weapon quickselect being so if you go all the way to the right you end up at the left again. It's just such a pain to switch when you have many weapons on you
A village in the sky. Being able to ride a dragon. The River Devil from Zelda 2 returning as an overworld boss. The mirror shield, and being able to use it in puzzles by reflecting light. A playable Zelda. A blacksmith. New recipes. New wildlife. New weapons. New enemies. A new race... perhaps the Minish?
Playable Zelda is unlikely as well as riding a dragon, but the other one... I hope
The song of storms in ocarina of time could make it rain or make the rain stop. You should be able to get the ocarina later in the game and stop it from raining when you are climbing
I've never had a problem with the cut scenes. You were trying to find out what happened in the past and they were merely giving you a glimpse at what took place.
Thumbs up.
I think it would be cool to explore more of Link's background and family We get little hints like Zelda mentioning his father and the ownable Hateno house that's theorized to be Link's old home. I'd also like Link be a little more expressive this time around. I know his whole thing is being silent and stoic, but all he does in BOTW's cutscenes is stand there with the same blank expression. I know Link's whole purpose is to be a projection of the player, but he always had a personality of his own that I'd like to see more.
I definitely think they should give him more character development
Thanks for articulating these! I'm sure many other fans have a similar list. For your last item, I think we can almost guarantee the main overworld will be refreshed. From the promotional artwork, we know that Death Mountain is consumed by malice, so I'm expecting the magma is gone and we can explore inside of the crater and the network of tunnels underneath. Additionally, there is a wind funnel in the north, so it could be that the entire snowlands are consumed in a blizzard. If I were Nintendo, I would freeze or super-heat Zora's domain, and flood the desert. So fired up for the impending Nintendo direct to see how many of these are confirmed!
That would be awesome if we could explore the inside of Death Mountain! It was a shame we couldn’t
yea i am hoping that there are a lot of noticeable differences
I think Tears of the Kingdom needs to have a mix of old, common, and new. I would like to see old things brought back, even if they were from Breath of the Wild, including the open world and some weapons. I would like to see the common Zelda elements, like the dungeons, story, and items. I would like to see new things, like new characters, an advance in the overall story of the Legend of Zelda, or new items and weapons.
Finally someone who talks about underwater exploration in these videos
I don't think it will happen, but miss it a lot. Hope I'm wrong.
Maybe next zelda this zelda is about sky
Hookshot (or Pullcaster, but it was totally a Hookshot) plus glider was already a great combo in Horizon Forbidden West. Being able to tactically fling yourself into the sky to gain altitude and then sneak attack enemies by gliding above them was great in that game, and I genuinely hope that the folks making TotK were paying attention to that.
I hope they go nuts on the exploration part. BotW had decent exploration. More caves, more items, lore and not just koroks for rewards.
Also more and better sidequests like in the older games. Take Tarry Town and make more of such sidequests
I think a great idea is instead of being able to fix your weapons, you can buy weapons at a blacksmith at each town or village. That way durability is still some thing that you have to work around, but it is easier to get the weapons you’re looking for.
I've been binging your channel like crazy in the last few days my friend - absolutely fantastic videos you put out! You make my heart warm too with your love for Nintendo and the great nostalgia it brings you; thank you my friend, keep up the awesome work, and God bless!
I love how the newest trailer confirmed things that he said. It's making me feel good
Something I’d really love to see brought back is Kinstones from Minish Cap. Those things extended my gameplay by hours and hours with exciting little secrets around the map.
Also hidden sword techniques!
I definitely hope we will get some QoL-improvement regarding that situation when you open a chest with a weapon and your inventory is full. Other than that, I don't have many wishes. I really hope the world will still feel exciting to explore though!
Finally, I had been waiting for you to make a TotK video! I am SO excited, and my CZcams is soooo saturated with TotK content haha
I hope that we'll be able to explore the lands beyond Hyrule in the sequel, the lands beyond the great canyon at the edge of the map from the first game.
My lady and I finally got a switch after some years wanting one. Doing my first play through of breath of the wild. I am still very excited for the new game just to see how they keep it fresh and exciting. 4k on my OLED would be so fun! Great vid keep it up!
This video literally scratched every part of brain I needed. Welcome to my top list of Zelda content creators.
This is a really well put together video! Compared to other wishes/hopes lists for TotK this one is more down-to-earth, which I like. I think most if not all your points are reasonable to wish for and would improve the game greatly. Many I'm hoping for myself! Thanks for this sincere contribution to the pre-release hype / discourse. :)
The light crafting system really stood out to me, because we live in an age where every freaking game has to have a crafting system, even if It doesn't make sense. However, because of the variety to items in BOTW, I did feel that a lot of my materials got underutilized. Maybe that's just because of how I played the game, but I want the items to have more of a use without crafting being a requirement. Ideally, crafting would be something you do not just to make the game easier, but to open up new gameplay options.
Something I was looking forward since the first game came out, is have the way you interact socially with enemies like bokos, moblins and lizalfos further developed. Wearing the bokoblin mask and getting in a camp, being able to share food with them, seeing all their natural interactions... It felt like the natural next step should be to be able to trade with them, make them help you, or help them with some enemy or obstacle, even get some appreciation from them. I get that making them an actual race or culture kinda goes against the whole point of the games, and it would feel wrong to kill them afterwards.
I personally think that the memories are my favorite bit of the game, because for example: something bad happened at Hyrule castle 100 years ago, and people used to spend their everyday lives there, now it’s a place with just darkness and monsters. The memories make it more scary and emotional. The abandoned places in Zelda BOTW are the most beautiful and emotional places in the game. They should definitely keep the memories in Zelda TOTK
They didn't keep it, but the did improve upon their format, and tied them into the theme better than BotW did it's story.
I hope the Happy Mask Salesman makes an appearance.
Dude yesss that would be sick.
Excellent video. I like your ideas! I also enjoy your voice and personality!
I've always wondered why so many people want a hookshot in botw. It would be so out of place, there isn't a need for it, you can already climb and glide. Everything is reachable without one so it doesn't make any sense to me why you would need one other than for very specific times.
I hadn’t even thought about underwater exploration but now that you said it I think that’s my new most wanted addition
honestly could be dlc, if not in the main game
Ok, I know this is a controversial but I don't think Botw has a bad story. In fact, from a writing perspective learning about the arcs and history of the champions while you begin friendship with the new ones is so cool! It's just non linear, and uts better than a lot of big blockbuster films these days
I think that the excitement of discovering new places will be relegated to the sky islands only, since we already know the layout of the overworld. So instead, I’m expecting the excitement in the overworld to be more like “Oh, I wonder what they changed about (location)?” and then going there to see.
I’d really like for Tears of the kingdom to have more musical callbacks to older games. And since its “tears of the kingdom” perhaps that means Twilight Princess and Majora’s mask Melodie’s coming back? I loved all the musical callbacks in Breath of the wild
My biggest hope: boots! This opens up underwater exploration (Zora Flippers), climbing in the rain (rain boots), some nostalgic items like Iron Boots or Hover Boots, maybe a version of the Mole Mits to dig out submerged chests and other secrets, along with adding onto existing clothing mechanics like increased stealth or power. The possibilities are endless!
I also hope there’s a hookshot that functions like the grapple in Titanfall 2, I don’t care if it breaks dungeons, that thing’s so much fun to use.
What I would love to see is more tiny settlements wcross the map. All the current settlements are at the end of roads in corners of the map pretty much. Of coarse you have the stables, but there really inst much to do there and after u found the 7th one it becomes kind off lame. It would be so fun to just pass by tiny settlements and and farms as u follow the roads.
I want more scary enemies. The guardians were so effective on my first time round, but after a certain point they just weren’t scary anymore.
Combine a guardian with a redead, basically a redead with faint eyes that shoot lasers with the malice theme. But make it in a dark room.
sure guardians weren’t scary after a while but did you forget about lynels? I still avoid those guys and I’ve finished the game
@@katzelol meh. After you get the moveset down they’re way too easy to beat. Flurry rush is OP.
Once again a perfect video
You made a lot of awesome points. Great video!!
Yeah, I always thought BOTW's title screen was lame. I had hoped for an epic title sequence after continuing my save file and was greeted with a sideshow of jpegs. We share a lot of the same hopes for this game, hope that most of them make it in!
Really great list. You summed it all up perfectly basically. Like all these I just wish Nintendo was sent this 3 plus years ago ha.
I agree with the bow of light thing. It should’ve been used with the master sword since it “seals the darkness”.
Idk why but that one part of the trailer where link is wearing that green tunic or whatever and falling from the sky, the lighting and trees remind me of fall and I love it. I swear i cannot wait until it comes out
I think the light crafting system and a slight update to the cooking system would be good
being able to combine feathers, wood and ore and Gems together to make arrows would be awesome alongside repairing gear.
with the cooking system being able to combine cooked meals at a prepping table to further boost their effects would be neat, it could also serve as a way to unlocking 'advanced' meals, combining bread and a soup to make a Filling X Soup, or maybe bread with a seared or chilled meat and some herbs to make a sandwich, cake and some honey butter apples for some kind of desert platter, being able to combine duplicate meals into larger portions of the same meal to increase their effects, average, large and jumbo portions of meals.
and maybe a cookbook as well to keep track of all the recipes, you can find meal recipes on the walls of stables and in certain buildings in breath of the wild, at least a third of my album was dedicated to snapshots of recipes I'd found while running around like a total spaz, so some way to keep track of them in game outside of dedicating yourself to taking a photo of all the recipes you find would be really helpful.
I think you make some really great points and all-around it's a good and hopeful wishlist. Except 14 that is objectively wrong I recently played through wind Waker again and I can hear him in my dreams
I know this an old video, but I have had this idea for a while. What if there was an updated glider in the game to add to the traversal mechanics? We know a lot of time will be spent up in the skies, so I think it would make perfect sense to implement an upgraded gliding system. Maybe introduce an “ancient glider” or something that allows link to be able to dive bomb and swoop back up using his momentum. Similar to the gliding in the Batman Arkham games. They could even introduce a mini revali’s gale to give a small boost when gliding.
kinda cool to watch this after the darker tone and ganons voice is revealed in the new trailer, along with a whole cave area
The hookshot making a return would be awesome of course, and the combo of glider and hookshot would be very cool, only that would have to make the hookshot apparatus more in line with the grapnel gun+boost from the Arkham series. Tap once to A-to-B and double tap in orde to boost and launch over the hook point into free fall or glider. Would be a mechanic perfectly fit for this world though💯
I would like improved bosses for the normal game, but I’d really like the inclusion of Super Bosses as well. A couple of optional super challenging bosses that drop incredibly rare loot and gives us something to hold our focus after the initial game is complete.
Love this channel sm! Such high quality content, thank you so much! Keep it up! And im for sure looking for a better story this time around and more Zelda involvement
I want playable Zelda so badly
I agree with so many of these! My main hopes are underwater exploration and some kind of rain gear, but I don’t want that to be too easy to get. I was also pretty disappointed with the Divine Beast dungeons and Calamity Ganons - the dungeons could be hard but the bosses were mostly SO easy. I can’t wait for it to come out ahhhhh
Awesome Video!
This man quite literally predicted the future lol, there was one on Feb. 8, and it had in my opinion the best trailer so far
Great list agree. Also, the title screen, so true
This has the best intro to any CZcams and u can’t change my mind
I completely agree with underwater exploration as I’ve wanted for a very long time and it would make the game even better. Adding this adds options for underwater enemies, puzzles, and even some shrines found under water
My biggest hope is that they add in the swap weapon option the amount of times I’ve opened a chest only to see “your inventory is full” 💀
I cant believe you were right about that direct
If this game has sky, ocean, and cave exploration with a better story and traditional dungeons, it could possibly be the best open world game we've ever seen
You had me at underwater exploration. And I hope the add underwater monsters as well. Twilight princess did it right with that giant underwater boss, so I hope they do something in that direction
Everything was a great idea other than 22. But overall very cool ideas and theories.
I would love a big side mission, like the finding korok seeds was a massive mission but it was one that didn’t give you a great feeling of fulfilment in the end.
I would love to see a big side mission like the one in wind waker, the gallery figurine quest.. where link was asked by an artist to take photos of every character in the game, including bosses and animals, and the artist in forest haven would do sculptures of them. People would visit and look at them. As tedious as it was I loved that side quest so much. It was fulfilling and fun. If they had something similar to that would be amazing. But I doubt it :(
What I would love to have for the next Zelda game is the option to store weapons instead of having breakable ones or drop them if you no longer have space in your inventory
I want interactive cutscenes with quick time events, I think it would make it more fun than watching something happen with no control
I hope Nintendo keeps doing what they want!
weapon custimization would be cool. it would give the ancient tech labs a bit more of a purpose instead of just barely upgrading runes or exchanging scrap metal for more scrap metal.
Excellent video
Hopes:
• Seasonal environments
• Fishing
• Random wind patterns
• Climbing perspective challenges
• cutting grass for rubies
Nopes:
- boring title screen
- time traveling
- rehashed enemies
- fatigue meter
Things I want that were not mentioned in your list:
1. Give Link one speaking line at the end of the game
2. Transfer things from your BotW game file (Link's house with displayed weapons, Registered horses, Terry Town, Master Cycle just to name a few)
3. I'd like Link to have a garden, a cuckoo coup, and a horse stable at his house. The garden to grow any fruit, flower, fungi, vegetable he finds in the wild. Imagine a positive for when it rains in the area.
4. Let me pet the dogs. And adopt one just like a registered horse.
5. Have a long-run sidequest of rebuilding Hyrule. Just like how you helped construct Terry Town, now it's time to rebuild bridges and houses that were destroyed by the Calamity.
6. Post-ending content. I don't mean a cutscene. I mean new NPC dialogue, new sidequests, maybe new mini-games.
7. More Kass. He's a traveling minstrel. He most likely wasn't at Rito village when the large tornado appeared, so he's more free than others of his kind.
I hope for incredible music like TP or Wind Waker. I do hope they keep the animal and insect sounds at certain times though. Like very quiet or somber music at night so we can hear the environmental sounds.
But I definitely want a better soundtrack. I’d love more dynamic music in certain areas like caves or wooded areas the way they had with special locations in BOTW like near shrines, stables, Temple of Time. The music just fades in as you entered an area.
They could even use the music to build suspense if you’re near an enemy camp but not under attack
1:54 I’ve seen some early TOTK gameplay and I can confirm he has dialogue in his zombie form and any other form
14:09 Good news! It was showed in a little teaser clip someone opening a chest and being able to drop a weapon without having to close the chest so it seems very likely that this feature will be in the game.
Get our main man Tingle back selling maps! I agree there xD
For the crafting bit, I agree it should be a simple system. In my head I'd like it so that you can repair weapons with specific items, or with more rare items you can use them to add buffs we saw in botw (better damage when thrown, more durability, attack, etc).
I agree with your varied temples idea, also with exploring caves, underwater. A water temple can be in the lake, fire temple around the Goron area, an Ice temple in the mountains, Forest temple around the Korok forest. Sky temple in the umm Sky. Sand Temple in Gerudo Desert. The Shiekah Towers can still be upright in hyrule leading Link to the location of the Shiekah Temple located in the middle of Hyrule field in a cave.
Each temple would end with their respective boss giving you an item that would allow you a way to access a new temple. Similar how past Zelda games have done it.
I'm afraid you'll be saving Zelda again to me it's on par with Mario saving Peach. Every game that's your goal. Weapon swapping after your inventory is full would be awesome.
One of my hopes is a rebuilt Hyrule Castle and town to explore since it's in ruins during Breath of the Wild. Also a rebuilt temple of time on the Great Plateau. Also some remixed or new versions of Music that have played in Breath of the Wild.
Swimming would allow for more exploration underwater instead of on land we where we are used to the Land Terrain. Adding Water exploration and Sky exploration can help make the game seem bigger than it is.
I've never been one to complain about framerates so it's not really a big deal for me.
8:00 in the trailer we saw some dragons and a bokoblin king as well as all the old enemies + new ones
1. Enemy variety 2. Side quests 3. Character development 4. End weapon durability 5. A story 6. Dungeons
Great ideas, it is very possible that many of these or similar additions are made to the sequel, i would really enjoy if they added the option to restore weapon durability with items however, the cutscenes are also a great idea for the game.
i like you're content
Maybe since this game is developed for Switch only they'll be able to improve performance. Really enjoyed your ideas especially Hookshot, multiple saves, and the weapon chest pick up option.
Im sending this to nintendo u are a genius
5:47 my main idea was a fast yet weaker type (like daggers) for land, and maybe daggers/wristblades for water
i hope they allow us to register non horses since I really wanted to ride all of the non horse animals in game. Also it would be nice to have zelda be playable at some point in the story even in a small section
I want them to add a dual sword weapon type, here is how it would work:
Removing the ability to have a shield, you carry 2 swords where you can attack more swiftly, but you can't block attacks and instead can only parry them. In the case of range attacks, you're forced to dodge and perfect time them for a game of high risk and reward.
I hope we get some sort of botw save carryover. Not like an entire inventory and stuff, but like, tarrey town, master vs normal mode, which dungeons/memories, and other large stuff like that carrying over.
And 8 million extra points if the carryover works with the wii u version too (it wont)
I hope they improve the Durability of the weapons in the next game and they need to add a weapon repairing system
I hope there is more teleportation! Also I like to go fishing. 😊
ur right also the ganondorf bossfight is so good at the ending as his form turns into demise and then zelda dies but hyrule is restored
My opinion: thunderblight ganon is the hardest enemy
Edit: I also hope we get more divine beasts like a fish for water or a toucan for the jungle
All I want is to be able to pet the dogs, implement cats in the game (like TP), own dogs and cats (as little companions because that would be adorable), pet and feed the cats
My wish is a little goofy, but I wish we could ride the dragons! It would be so cool to land on their backs, maybe fight a monster or two, something like that! Obviously we'd fall off before they leave for the skies, but it'd be so cool! I mean, it'd also be cool to see the leviathans alive and moving, whether in the past or present!
I want extra storage at our house as the whole Hateno house in BotW felt incomplete. There also seems to be an abandoned concept of the house acting as a stable that someone covered in a video I found a few days ago.
Crafting of some sort seems likely with the scene of the broken Master Sword in the trailer.
I’ve played all the Zelda games (except Spirit Tracks… AND… BOTW). Even tho I have owned BOTW since 2017… I have left it sealed. I also got the official strategy guide (the one updated with the DLC), and have also left it sealed. I plan on opening them up this upcoming Spring Break.
I am not too worried about the map feeling old, it is set in the future, so hopefully there will be different things and NPCs. Just look at the Playstation spiderman games, the original was awesome and going into miles morales, I was scared it would feel like just replaying the original, but with new items and stuff it was awesome, and TOTK will also probably be great
Being able to combo hook shot+glider Arkham Knight style is my dream as well
nintendo hero: all the blights are the same size
thunderblight: i beg your pardon?
I'm definitely sure you gotta save Zelda again, but that won't be the only goal. While BoTW technically had other objectives other than saving Zelda, freeing the Divine Beasts and Champions, those can be skipped.
Meanwhile, TotK will definitely at least have the goal to repair the Mastersword, and who knows, maybe the goal isn't save Zelda but reunite Zelda and Link (playing as them both is the distinction here)
