The Siege of Toulon of 1793 happened during the French Revolution that began in 1789. It was a battle of French Republican forces against French Royalists that were allied with other countries including Great Britain.
During the siege, various French soldiers, including a young Napoleon Bonaparte documented their accounts through letters and other means that survived to this day.
In this video, you will be able to experience the battle through the eyes of people who were there.

My predictions were exactly fulfilled. Such is the history of this event, which so greatly astonished Europe and has never been well understood.”

The author intimate a retrospective view at the end suggesting it was written well after the fact.
That was me making the observation at the end about Napoleon. The letters were all written at the time of the battle.

Just one point :
The other Nation were involved in the french revolution before the revolutionaries went conquering other lands.
It wasnt really a war though, and it is indeed the french who declared war first, while most of the monarchies were just waiting to see.
The first battle weren't about conquering land though, it came after (and it is though it was somehow a way to quell the most warmonger amongst the revolutionnary).
Great content but your intonation ruins it.
Can you start speaking naturally please? You sound like a robot. Such great content despite your.voice. it hurts to listen to
