Exactly, drives me crazy when people donât realize theyâve been asking for this shit all along. Maybe not explicitly, but definitely with their wallet, and thatâs really all corporations care about.
BB2 even let you change the Heads of all your Players for Free.
And honestly, I wouldn't even mind paying to look cool as long as it came with an hour or so of content. Yes, I paid money to dress up my paper dolls, but I had to do a quest with a little bit of content to completely unlock it.

It doesnât even work flawlessly. If you buy things in the shop too quick in succession (say because you want to give your whole team the same helmet) it sometimes skips purchases. It still bills your but you donât get the item.

Another thing that Joe doesnât touch on is that data miners found SEVEN teams in the files completely ready to play that are just locked behind a paywall for future paid dlc. Including my favorites Lizardman, necromatic, and wood elf. Unbelievably egregious
One of the reasons why I'm sticking with Blood Bowl 2: Legendary Edition because I want to play my Lizardmen team without having to pay money to get them as DLC when they're already in the game files ready to play.
This essentially the Street Fighter X Tekken character DLC but worse.
At this rate I'll wait for the goty edition and wait for that review. Just a sad day for Blood bowl fans
Blood Bowl 2 pulled the same crap when it was first released. It held back the popular teams to sell separately. There was plenty of outrage. Later instead of dropping the price, they just added the teams to keep the price as high as possible for as long as possible. Eventually they had to lower the price. But at launch, the game shipped with only 6 of the bare-bones teams and all the good teams had to be purchased separately. Apparently, they haven't learned their lesson. I will never buy another BB game ever again.
Makes me want to vomit that ready to go content is just locked behind a paywall just for corporate greed.

A fully kitted BB team using GW minis is def 100$+.
Though there are very awesome third party options that GW is actively trying to kill without pissing off the community.

same crap happened to me on shadow of war, on the DAY ONE version of the game there was a bug that would let you get legendary gear from a yet to be released orc tribe(DLC), proving the whole thing was already done, just chopped up to be added as DLC later
I was literally going to buy this game when I got my next paycheck. Joe yet again coming in clutch, sparing my wallet.
Yeah... this just breaks my heart. đ I thought that this was to simulate the game, but this is just cheap. I wanted to grab a bite of the game, to see if it's fit to get into the physical version. If nothing else, I thought I could have passed in some "support " by getting the game...

Or more so, the whales are the product. They are the ones being sold to âinvestorsâ, I put them in quotes because they are more like Short Term Speculators. When they took over the majority for businesses like this, instead of long term investors; everything is at the mercy of the pressure for the unsustainable constant increases every quarter. They only listen to money because nobody is counting quality or customer satisfaction, they are simply selling to Short Term people who only sees money. The only way weâve seen a fight back of this, is seeing that industry implode.
They engorge themselves to death because they are chasing a small fraction of gamers who pay the big bucks. Problem is, they only have limited time to play games, and canât sustain THAT many games like that. It would be easier to sustain if they got the majority of gamers to pay up. But that isnât the case. Like the many Live service games that already shut down this year, weâre looking at another MMO situation.

Considering how simplistic the actual gameplay is and how few assets are needed for it, there is no excuse for there to not be hundreds if not thousands of customization options as part of the base game. Eitherway, I hope this part of a livestream because I would love to watch the whole video when the vod comes out.
Btw I just read in the steam reviews, that the "to be released team - lizardmen" are already in the game files, so they took it out on purpose to sell it later
There's already 7 teams that we don't have in the files, 2 years worth of dlc.
The lizardman it's even worse, they're fully playable already.

Saw this finally released, said to myself "okay I'll check it out after work tomorrow" and I was happy. I'm not happy anymore.

@@raikouija663 Resin. PLA is better for bigger items, but resin is much more detailed for miniatures, and doesn't need to be as robust as PLA is to start with.

Hey joe those customisations can only be equipped to one player at a time cant all use the same head also all the future teams models were found within the game 5+. The game also reuses alot of animations from bb2 aswell as all the commentary dialogue. Thank you for being the big voice to point out its bad and not be paid off like some people have been trying to make it look good and saying unfinished is fine

Here is how the customizations should be.
First it should be an in game currency and second the currency should be tied to each player independently.
Each player should have a set amount of currency to start, and each player gains a set amount of currency per SP point earned.
This would allow some customization in the beginning to showcase differences between players and allow higher skilled players to showcase ever more elaborate getups.

Cosmetics being usable on only 1 player is one of the greediest approach in videogaming history. Shame on them.
Not super familiar with this game but it seems like if they want to encourage people to spend money on customization they could offer a service to turn your fully customized models into 3d printer instructions so there is some of physical reason to customize your team. They've got the 3d wire mesh model generated it wouldn't be a huge cost to convert . It would also make tabletop players excited to play and buy customization

Well, I didn't even realize the cosmetics were one character only and that random server disconnects boot you out of matches before I had played enough to lose refund chances.
So yeah, I should've known better when I read mentions of "close collaboration with games workshop".

In over a decade if watching Joe, I dont think he has ever been literally rendered "broken" and completely speechless over a game....right? Blood Bowl finally did it.
Yeah I feel that Blood Bowl was more personal because he'd recommended the previous series of the game as a alternate for madden, so to see it to become something even more greedy then madden in transactions is sad.

For what it's worth, Blood Bowl 2 is still good.

There are good WH40K games out there. Lots of unfinished, greedy, terrible ones, but a few good ones too. Much like the tabletop models.
The last one I tried was based on Necromunda. Just terrible. And when you really want them to succeed and they shovel out crap it's always disheartening.

This one has to especially hurt for Joe since he's such a massive Warhammer fan.
Cheapest item for every player costs 75 warpstones. 1000 warpstones cost 10$. So it's 1 cent per warpstone. A standard team has 11 players and 6 slots for every player = 66 items per team. 66 items by 75 cents = 4950 cents. That's 49.50$.... per team....and thats if you want to customize EVERYTHING with COMMON items.....there are uncommons, rares and legendaries that cost up to 750 warpstones per SINGLE ITEM for just ONE PLAYER.
Hey angry Joe, when you were looking at those customizations, were those one time use? Because there's an Infinity sign on one of them and zero on the other two
what i think hit me the hardest was, the greed money shop is up and running full steam, but i can't f'ing resume a game after a disconnect at launch or pause a game and even in solo play turns are times, so i have to finish a game before i go open the door or take a bio break or my raiding will suffer, im not touching this shit

This was gonna be the first blood bowl game I got until I saw that it was $30 but the kicker was that it said 1000 warp points so I thought it was gonna be a pay to win game. The steam rating and this video makes me glad that I ainât risk it
You can get BB2 pretty cheap.
You can only buy cosmetic items so not pay to win, pay to look pretty. But boy did they do that in the most aggressive and insulting way possible. I was a long time player of BB2 and I will get 3, but only after they make some big updates and fix the game, including changing their MTX offerings to be less demeaning
@@earwig1000 also fumbbl lets you play blood bowl for free (i believe they already are using most of boardgame rules - a thing bb3 "promises" to do during last quarter of this year), only downside with fumbbl is that its java based with kinda ugly (but charming for some) 2d graphics - and sometimes user needs to do some tweaking to get everything to work properly (many have issues with the size of the game and need to use windows's magnifying glass feature to actually see what is happening).. but other than that it does blood bowl better than any of Cyanide games. Heck, they have active community making various mods for blood bowl like "pokemon league" or "secret league" with over 80 teams already. Before i bought bb2 i started at fumbbl (back in previous ruleset system, i have not been playing in past few years so don't know all ins and outs for new rules and how fumbbl has intergraded them - but last i read was that they already implemented some of them and were planning to implement rest later - this was few years ago so i assume that they have progressed with that).
The 1 cheerleader was probably because you only purchased (not irl funds) one for your team when you created it using the initial fund you get for team creation for the kickoff boost.

Remember back in the day developers would include ton of unlockable in game content then after that would release expansion packs that would add a ton of new content, now we get the game you already paid for piecemeal back to you at a premium.

I never played blood bowl but someone said to get blood bowl 2 legendary edition and after watching this video Iâm glad I took their advice.

Yeah i would say if you really want to go for it , just wait until they release a complete edition , they did this with bloodbowl 2 but it wasn't a full dlc pack customization , you can even gain free custom by doing AI tournament in that game .

@@AFpaleoCon ? If you didn't know , bloodbowl 2 wasn't complete before a moment after release with missing team and improved feature . There is some customization in bloodbowl 2 but it's basically just color team swap and even if you can pay for it , you can have it for free by playing against the computer in tournament mode.
â@@sinjoh53 Bloodbowl 2 was later purchasable in it's entirety for cheap in sales later at least. Do not conflate BB2 with this very different Microtransaction business model. At a basic level of principle this is beyond unacceptable. It was already poor on the part of BB2 to blatantly lack any decent level of customisation. while it might exist in BB3, it is just simply not an option in the eyes of any reasonable person.
If I won the lottery tomorrow I would still never buy this game. The game as is, simply deserves to fail or have all content added to the base game. Be a player or a customer, not a "user" or an exploitation victim.

Yep they got me on that one ... even bought the brutal edition, but they lied their ass off on that one and we were surprised by micro-transaction and a game that's barely an early access even though it was sold as a complete product, even the store page doesn't the early access tag.
