You have to take apart your DualSense controller to install the customized buttons, the installation difficulty is medium. You have to take good care of all the flex cables inside the controller.

Hi, just a recommendation for people. When opening the trigger mechanism you actually don't need to remove the black round gear since it does not obstruct the pin holding the trigger cap. Just leave it exactly in place and do not move its position, doing so will make sure you reassemble it correctly.

My controller is different than this one.. it doesn’t have a white piece at the top, only the clear plastic. Also no screws on the top portion where the mapping is for the buttons. The way the triggers are installed is way different on mine too. I have the BDM-020, can you please make an updated video

Are you not supposed to put the tension springs back on the L2 and R2 buttons? I replaced mine and now the L2 and R2 buttons are kind of tight. When I press them down they hold in that position for a second or 2 before snapping back up to their normal position. Any advice or tips to correct this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! Great video and was extreme-ly (sorry) helpful when replacing my buttons. I replaced my touch pad as well (had done this already on ps4 controller so I knew how) and all went well. Only problem is my controller is a bit different than this one and I had one screw left over, no idea where it came from 😅 oh well lol I'm sure it won't make a difference anyhow...thanks again 🙂

I have a question are the ps5 controller buttons similar to a psp? they look quite similar but do they feel similar?
So I followed the video and I didn’t switch out my R2 cause I wanted to keep those ones black but for some reason my r2 isn’t working now. Are they any ideas why?
My r1 button has some type of defect. When I press it down it gets stuck in place. I looked closely at the inside and it doesn't seem to be damaged or defective. But it isn't usable

I have a bdm-020 and the triggers dont work i got it on ebay and the package says extremerate and i noticed the black piece that goes inside l2/r2 dont sit well and the button gets stuck when i click it hard any fix?
I got some chrome buttons for my old ps4 controller a few years ago (not from you) and after a couple weeks the chrome finish started wearing off...I want the chrome now for my other ps5 controller but will that happen again with these?
After reassembling my L1 and R1 triggers don’t work. I tried replacing with the originals after and still don’t work . Any help?
I purchased a couple of these kits months ago so i could color code my controllers. I purchased a new controller the other day and was wondering if there are any plans to make a kit like this for the new model. Thanks much and after 6 months of daily use the other kits are holding up great!

Hi, I'm also having trouble with my r2 button, what did you end up doing to fix it (like cleaning the part or completely swapping it out)?
Triggers didnt fit and i had to force it back out sense the metal bar was jammed in there i was able to fix it and put the old black ones back on but now my controller does a constant click on the right trigger mechanism at all times when the controller is on
The trigger add a whole new level of difficulty to this. I can did everything else except triggers. Requires more alot of patience

I reassembled my controller with no problems however now the controller has a weird clicking sound that happens at random? Not from any of the buttons like the controller itself just makes a click sound
Just followed along with this video. Some of mine is different internally and the L/R buttons don't fit. So I wasn't able to use them but the rest fit.

hey guys, just finished installing one of your kits. worked great. however you should update the video to work with the newer version of the dual sense. There are some differences in assembly I had to guestimate. All in all though, quality product, I purchased the translucent blue ones with the front cover as well for my light blue V2 DS5. Looks amazing now.

Common knowledge should let you get around most kinks in the differences. I installed the kit with the newer controller. I could help!

PLEASE RESPOND; so I did this with my faceplate like 5 times or more like that all day on online school, and the l2 button Is sticking and the adaptive works and it just sticks down snd the r2 button is clicking like tic Tic Tic. It’s annoying and i did this process and I have been watching this video a lot too and I commented a while ago on the other controller (touchpad) that’s fixed and I got new r2 and l2 shocks and that does not work. And whenever I close my controller (when I’m done,) the l2 button gets stuck when you press it snd you have to like pull it up. So please help me!
Please check the gears inside of the L2 R2, they must be messed up.
Do all your button kits come with the l2/r2 pieces? I heard you have to remove them from the OG controller which isnt easy

I was hoping to find a faster method, but I guess that's as fast as it gets. I hate how changing the R2/L2 buttons makes the process much longer and a bit trickier. The rest is pretty quick and easy.

Soooo. After doing this my R2s “adaptive trigger” feature no longer works. Any idea why?
Please check the gears in the adaptive trigger part if they installed correctly. You can compare it with the left one (but don't mess up the left one..)

You just need to take it out from the old l2 r2. I just changed my buttons and i didnt get that thing too. So i just forced it out with a flat head and it came right off

I recently purchased your Lofty Remap Kit for my Xbox One controller, reading the manual and looking at all the circuits I see it has room for two extra K buttons (K3 and K4) but the back shell has no room for these, is there any backshell with 4 holes for the K buttons on this kit? Thanks in advance!
The K3 K4 on the PCB will work, but we don't have the bottom shell with 4 holes lol.

If you just want to do the back buttons (R1,R2 L1,L2) do you have go right down to the mother board or can you just flip and change them

Just installed on my controller. Are the triggers (L2/R2) suppose to feel much different? Mine feel super slow and shorter actuation
If you are using the older BDM-010 controllers (CFI-ZCT1* not CFI-ZCT1*A). The issue could be the motor reassembly where the trigger arm wasn't line properly with the wheel. However, I doubt you would've messed up with both.
The more likely reason is you are using the newer model in which the trigger buttons are the only ones that don't work with the new Controllers. They do not fully extend by a tiny bit, and will not fully depress by almost a 1/4 inch.

It took me a little time because I tightened the screws too much, but finally got the red chrome buttons and joysticks on mine.

The metal Dpad yes, but the Square-Cross-Circle-Triangle need modifying to fit
Do you guys make independent d'pad buttons for the ps5, Instead of it being one full piece? I play alot of fighting games that need precise inputs. The ps5 stock d'pad isn't good for that, if you push left you see the whole d'pad move. Please and thank you

What are the chances of breaking the controller when doing this?
Holy cow! I almost crapped myself doing this! Don't get me wrong, the instructions are great, easy to follow, and over all the process was a lot simpler than I thought it would be.
My issue was at 13:47. I went to grab that pin for the trigger and... where did it go?... I laid it down with the rest of the items, but it was gone! I moved everything around even ended up cleaning my desk off thinking it may have rolled under something. I checked the floor, my pockets, and even my shoes. Couldn't find that sucker anywhere...! After 45 Minutes of searching I finally resigned myself to getting a new Controller, and began putting what I could back together and GUESS WHAT I FOUND STUCK TO THE HAPTIC MOTOR! That little sucker must have rolled a little and got picked up by the magnetic part of the motor. SO... Pay attention folks and check the magnets!

Everything fit exdcpt the triggers
I literally had to sand them down in the back just to get then to fit in the housing
I discovered the paint was the problem
I thought the plastic was pink all the way through
But sanding down the back showed me that its white plastic with pink paint
Maybe go thinner when apply the coats please. Other then that the buttons work and everything fits

If you mod a PS4 controller before, this mod is easy for you. If this is the first time to mod a controller, then you have to watch the video carefully and follow it step by step, it won't be very difficult. Just put more attention on the L2 R2 triggers.

Followed every step but now my buttons don’t work in game, but they work on the Home Screen just fine. Any ideas how to fix it?

Purchased these buttons and the R1 button broke within 2 days because it somehow got stuck in my control, this company just ignored me asking if they are able to send a replacement, considering with the product they send you a card which tells you to contact them on social media, so I did, they ignored me, I highly doubt I will be giving these guys any more money

We only have the white we call snow white now, we are matching the stock white, hope to make it happen in 1 month. But for the PS button, we are not going to make that because that will make us in copyright trouble lol
@@ExtremeRate yeah i kind of realised maybe that's why you wouldn't be able to get the exact colours, i thought the ps was white until i seen your face plates and there's quite a difference so my controller looks more blue/grey, plays tricks on my eyes 😎

I messed up on my wife's controller and ended up snapping one of the wires that go to the rumble attachment. A quick soldering job, but probably the worse thing I've encountered. Just be patient and careful.
What about the spring on the L2 and R2 ?

@@ExtremeRate my R2 and L2 don't seem to fit, there feels like a small piece blocking the trigger, the triggers work but without haptic feedback , I even replaced the inside bits with the originals from playstation triggers but still the same problem although my green set are fine , not sure if anyone has mentioned this before
@@badboybones9687 Hi, this problem is caused by the gears inside of the L2 R2 messed. We have detailed steps to show you how to install back the gears in this video
@@ExtremeRate the gears are fine , I compared gears with other controller which fully works (green buttons) when installed the red L2 & R2 don't fully depress , like theres an obstruction

4:35 shows how well these are put together when the masters even have difficulty getting them apart! 👌

For some reason the Clicky Trigger switches do not work with the L2 of this kit. R2 works perfectly though.
Is this a manufacturing tolerance thing or is there any other known fix?
When you say not work with the L2 of this kit, do you mean the L2 stuck? If so, please make sure the tiny plastic pushed deep enough into the hole of L2
@@ExtremeRate I mean that because of your guy’s tolerances, I don’t think it feels as good as the OEM part (at least when used with the clicky triggers). Unsure why it would work for the R2 but not the L2.
I’ve made sure that the plastic piece is mated flush inside the hole and it still doesn’t feel as good. Will double check today though.

Does anyone know if there's a way to remove and re-use the black inserts for the L2 and R2 buttons, I bought a replacement button set but it doesn't come with those parts, so I'm up to the part in the guide where you swap those buttons but can't pull the inserts from the L2 or R2 buttons. Is there a tag or catch that I need to loosen? Any help or advice would be appreciated, thanks!

And if you want to use that one in the original L2R2, you have to use a mini plier to pull it out, the only method is to pull it with enough force.

Just wanted to point out that there is a new PS5 controller revision that is not fully compatible with these replacement buttons. I just got my hands on a PS5 and bought an additional controller. The internals of the controller that came with the PS5 are slightly different. In particular, R2 and L2 have a new internal shape, so the replacements do not fit properly (The trigger will not be able to press down all the way). I struggled with my first controller for about an hour and then decided to open the other one and compare. The replacement L2 and R2 fit right away into the "older" version of the controller.
The new revision has all silver screws instead of black, and does not have the white plastic bar shown at 6:55. If you have one of those I would recommend not even trying replacing the shoulder buttons. The face buttons come off exactly the same as shown in the video though.
Do you plan on updating your R2/L2 buttons to match the new PS5 controller revision? It's really a shame the buttons I got are not compatible with my controller.

I thought I got two L2 buttons because it only works on one side and they’re designed the same. The notch only fits properly on the left side but I guess this is because it’s a kit for older models? Based on the trigger and your images I have BDM-020 but I also have silver screws and no white plate. Really disappointing the triggers don’t work
Can't I just pop off the actual trigger from the piece inserted at 11:21like in this video czcams.com/users/shortsP_2d6M-lw_s? Does doing this break it? Cuz it looked like it worked for him.
It just doesn't seem necessary to take apart the entire trigger mechanism. I just want to replace my l2 since it chipped. And I didn't really want to take apart the entire controller to do so.
