That custom piano gets moved around so much (indoors outdoors) yet it is always in great tune. 💕

Brilliant, Nico! I'm guessing there's a story behind that unusual looking, great-sounding piano. It pops up everywhere. Do you carry it around on your back lol 😊.

lovin' the stripped down piano. I've been tuning pianos for customers for many years. It's worth having a go yourself. Get yourself a decent tuning lever, a "Papps" mute and a felt mute strip for the middle octave and a half. mute the outside 2 strings with the felt strip pushing it between the strings with a blunt knife and tune the middle one using a tuning app with pitch generator and your own ears, tune the circle of 5ths and octaves to stay in the middle of the keyboard. I do C, G, D, A E, etc. ending on Bb F C. (from A to E onwards you can check 3rds too which should have a sllght vibrato. remove felt strip and tune the outer 2 strings one at a time using the Papps mute. then down in octaves and up in octaves again using the mute so you tune one string at a time. hardest bits are, 1) first octave and a half 2) using the lever 3) the top and bottom octave. (best position for the mute is resting on the hammer rail 1 2 or 3 hammers from the string you want to mute). Try to tune strings very slightly sharp and they will instantly relax to the correct pitch. that takes a bit of practise! sometimes you have to go sharp and then pull them back with the lever. just depends on the piano.

Hey Nico, how often do you have to tune that piano and do you it yourself? Boogie on!

It depends hiw many time I use them... around 4 times a year. And no; I can't tune it by myself
