Understand, but while baking powder and yeast are both leavening agents, they are very different in chemical nature, reaction and subsequent taste. Made the cake, was delicious, but it collapsed, resulting in the shape of a tart. Not sure what I did wrong, perhaps more than a teaspoon of baking powder. Will try again. I really like the simplicity of your creations. Thanks.
Eugene Orza I made this w/o baking powder and it turned out 👍. It collapses a little bit- like a Japanese cheese cake but it’s soooo good it doesn’t matter.

Just made this cake. The only word I would use to describe it is AMAZING... Wow such an easy recipe. Perfect amount of sugar, moisture and softness. I used orange rinds since I didn't have lemons and it still tasted amazing. Thank you for sharing it with the world.

I made it and it turned out soo good! I made it with homemade yogurt by letting it strain overnight in the fridge. Baked it next morning and served with a thin layer of apple jam.
I made it two weeks ago and it turns out friends love it, I’m going to make it again this coming Saturday and will put the thin slices of apple in the mixture because I love apple 🍎

Hi mine at 40 minutes is overcooked. Shall I try 15 minutes? Also it’s great and fluffy and tall in the oven but as soon as I take out it drops. Do you live it go get cold in the oven first? Many thanks

I've done this many times now so I vary it by adding blueberries and raspberries to the mixture just before I pop it in the oven, it looks and taste amazing I highly recommend 👌
Doesn't it deflate after you take it from the oven? Most people talk about failure and the cake shrinking a lot after cooling it. I wonder what do we do wrong huh By the way, where do you live? :)
Maybe leave it in the oven after turning it off. Change in temperature at once deflates it merengue

I first tried this a year ago and my family loved it so much I make it regularly. No butter, no flour, it’s so light. It came our perfectly the first time. I have added fresh blueberries which is delicious. I’ve also made a version with orange instead of the lemon.
I made this cake and it turned out perfectly. I was a little nervous because of living at such a high elevation I would need to adjust the liquids/leavening agent, but it was like the perfect soufflé. How did you make it? I followed the recipe. It’s so tall and fluffy once in the oven and as soon as i take it out it’s not! And 40 minutes at 170c it’s over cooked. Thank you

When cracking an egg it's better to hit the egg on a table/ hard surface instead of the side of the egg to avoid any pieces of shell going into the Bowl. You will always have a clean break.
Generations have hit the egg on the side of a bowl with no problems. I've tried the table and it causes too many fractures in the egg shell.
@@forget3817. I think it depends on what we use to, my way, your way, their way, if I have to separate the eggs I would prefer cracked them away from the yolks bowl 😂
