This video is GREAT. This is the type of thing you want to see what a Lawn Tractor can do. Not how well it cuts my pussnboots back yard grass. We just bought this model yesterday, it'll be delivered in a few days. CAN'T WAIT NOW! We are on an 80 acre property, mostly forest. But a really big front yard and garden. A+++
I haven't used mine for anything this big, but I recently cut down 1.5 deeply overgrown acres of my land, including kudzu, with my Husqvarna string trimmer and a brush blade, and I use my Husqvarna lawn tractor to keep it cut down. This thing a beast and it's no easy task keeping this property in shape, but I'm glad I have the best equipment made with Husqvarna ❤, but it is better to cut down the thick stuff first so you can see what's underneath it, I found 2 old mowers and countless other things in my jungle
All fun and games until you hit the kitchen sink.... then.... down a Dew.... fire up a smoke.... and get on with it! If thar tractor was running the next day after this adventure.... I WANT one!
With a similar 42" 20HP V2 Ariens I have cut tall crap like this too. The "Failure modes" I have had are: (1) running over a hidden piece of 1/4" rope and it wound up on the blades. ie a giant mess to cut out; one hour, a huge mess. This same thing happened too on a string trim mower and the engine stopped quickly and ruined the engine's timing. It was not the flywheel key, major bent items. Thus the riding mower rope adventure was just lost time cutting out the mess. With the string trim mower, I put another 6.5HP engine on it. In the Deep South with ticks and chiggers, a riding mower has one not walking in a field of ticks. (2) have hit glass bottles hidden in tall grass thrown close to a dirt road, ie knuckleheads litter and throw bottles up on ones property. (3) hit steel scrap that last landowner dumped but now is exposed due to erosion. (4) hit turtles, dead possum, (5) Hit stumps that were "magically higher" than flush due to erosion, or a hole nearby. Thus on my own propertly, I flag known risky spots. About the worst thing is cut an unknown piece of field, or due it in a hurry or when too dark.
You have bigger balls then i do i just kept waiting for that yellow jacket nest to pop up lol. People act as if they paid for that mower lol just run it until you can’t run it no more haha people sell them all day on Craigslist
Yeah I knew something was going to go wrong. There's always things so hidden in those areas that you can't see them. Like fat branches that look like dirt or brown grass. Rusty metal and completely faded and abandoned tires that look like dead grass and boom when you mow over them the lawn mower is broken.
Love all the drama! Some of y'all are worse than the animal people! Not sure where they are selling these for so much money, I bought this same unit for 1700 dollars brand new and used it commercially for a few years in Michigan. I didn't expect much from it being an MTD product, but the thing ate! I was young, starting out, and in a pinch. That Kohler was a torque monster, never one time did stall, even windrowing piles of grass in fields, chopping leaves in the fall, and as seen here, clearing fields. I ran heavier blades, and didn't run trees and sinks over, but still beat it like I hated it. It pulled harder the more you dogged it, and never protested. The hydraulic transmission was great too, I would use it to move car haulers full of leaves and wood, and this little machine loved pulling logs if you loaded those drive tires right. If you could get weight on those tires, it would pull extremely hard. It spent it's fair share of time with the front wheels up when bagging, pulling and etc. Handled wet ground well too. The hardest I ever worked it was plowing snow, but with a few hundred pounds and chains, I was plowing that heavy belly plow snow often 2 feet deep from sidewalks and driveway entrances very quickly, and easily. It would ram through mounds left by real professionals, and actually scrape down better than their plows. I maintained about 7 homes and about half a mile of sidewalk for years with this thing, then scrapped it when a family member needed a transmission. (which is still in service today, living a much easier life) The unit had over 700 hours on it. Only went through one drive belt the whole time, and 3 sets of front tires, and probably 15 oil changes. That's it! I must have made my money back 4 times with the thing. YTH20K46
Cody Freeman Oh I have no doubt! I love those older units, you can't beat those. But for a new, cheaper, MTD made lawn tractor, these Husqvarna's are absolutely decent. It was just all the fussing the comments below... Hopefully a little testimony will help!
Crazy. I have the exact some mower, and a very similar yard. I've also run over all sorts of crap I shouldn't have, but I've never tried to mow down saplings (or sinks). A bit reckless, but fun to watch. Just one question, why does your mower seem so much faster than mine? It looks like it's got turbo-boost on it!
I've got a Husqvarna gt2452 my Moto is if it can't go where I want to , I don't need . It breaks I fix , needs two bearing in. The center deck now, butci got another lawn or 2346
Pretty ballsy. How could you tell if there was a big rock or a stump hidden in there. I always walk the area thoroughly and pull out anything that might bend my blades.
hey get some gatpr mulching blades they are thincker and stay sharper longer they have triangular points on the back of the blade they are really narley thats all i use
I've been where you're at dude, when it comes to overgrown land. Do yourself a favor, and get a DR Field and Brush mower. That machine will eat up anything you put under the deck, and it's self propelled. And Roundup is your friend.
I'd like to see your mower's blades after mowing all that. I should report you for lawn mower abuse. LOL J/K good stuff. It was actually satisfying to watch. My rider could never do that because of it's electric clutch on the blades, manuals like yours are better.
It helps to walk the property and see if there are anything(s) that you should avoid. Also, if you go by a set pattern, usually a back and forth and move along in that fashion, you can see great results for the time you put in. Randomly mowing along all over the place makes it hard to evaluate if you accomplished much. JMHO.
I'm curious to what else could hold up to that. Everytime I try to baby equipment it breaks anyway and when I don't care it doesn't either. Get a job testing equipment so everyone else will know what can hold up and what can't. Make them supply you with at least 6 bottles of courage or beers before you start too.
Now that it's 2020, any problem with mowing saplings? My Craftsman the blade spindle waller out. Just wondering if there is a better designed spine etc... Thanks nice video.
Craigslist: Gently used Husqvarna mower. Never abused, dealer maintained.
Big pass on that idea boss.

Thats not what its designed for genius.....of you can afford to buy and pay taxes on 80 acres, you can afford to buy the proper equipment.
@@lyman135needlessly douchey response...
Thanks for this video. I was considering buying a used tractor. Now I will just buy a new one.
Lol
Ha-Ha-Ha!
😂😂😂
Lmfao
Heavy Equipment 😂
7:44 - this is the moment you were all waiting for..
12:09 - also this.

As a mower mechanic
That sounded like hell

9:33 mowing over everything including the kitchen sink 😂. 💪
The Marlboro in the hood vent made this video 100% legit.
This thing fuckin cruises!
Just shows how great husky’s are!
All fun and games until you hit the kitchen sink.... then.... down a Dew.... fire up a smoke.... and get on with it!
If thar tractor was running the next day after this adventure.... I WANT one!
You may never borrow my mower sir lol. Cool video though. 👍🏻
Man, you're cutting that grass so fast, it looks like the video was speeded up. Awesome.

I’ve never hit a sink mowing my yard.
Thing's a beast!
Looking at a yard tractor for the seven hilly acres I got... Huskvarna looks up to the task. Awesome vid hommie
3:19 great run
I've done the same thing... BUT, with Exmark mowers that had welded steel decks and cast iron spindles lol. But I will say it was fun.
Looks like just what I need for "bushhogging" around my little farm.
If you wanna watch A video on how to seriously fuck up your lawn more this is the want to watch you truly are a fucking genius
Looks like fun to me!
When you've been putting off the lawn but the ole lady's been nagging. Lol no fucks given
jebus Mel your a hard man on machinery !
Great Video! This is why the tell you to say not to DRUGS!
Genius!😂
Damn you really beat that thing up! Lmao
How much did you have to drink before you made this video?
I'd say I was about............around 91 octane.................yeah, regular plus :D
It was all fun and games till hit the ole kitchen sink......@ 7:44
This guy is just here to mow baby.
Dude that was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
To be honest it won't damage the machine since it is a belt drive. The worst is it will need new blades and possibly a belt.
YEAHHHHHH LOVE IT****** Just to show my husband that he been playing with his 😂🤣😂🤣
“Everything but the kitchen sink”
Wow, that's tough on the blade for a sit on lawnmower like that.
"Nothing can stop me, I'm all the way up" at 9:57
Thats amazing how much you did with that piece of equipment
You have bigger balls then i do i just kept waiting for that yellow jacket nest to pop up lol. People act as if they paid for that mower lol just run it until you can’t run it no more haha people sell them all day on Craigslist
I just bought the 54 inch model. Pretty sure I won't be clearing sapling's with it. Need it to last.
I love it
No! you can't borrow my mower!
Why
Mows great, ran when parked.
I just like how he is ripping his husky in this video though lol.
Yeah I knew something was going to go wrong.

You should name your mower "Agent Orange".
and dont forget to check if your spindels have grease fittings get some good high temp grease n keep them greased up so they will last
Raymond J sealed spindles.
I learned the hard way that it pays to do a quick walk around the area you plan to cut....just sayin'.....

as far as my knowledge goes husqvarna makes their own products. they have never been owned by MTD unless they were recently bought out by MTD.
GarageDoorGuy89 I did my digging and you're absolutely right! That's my bad, I was under the impression that the cheapo line was made by MTD.
fine job well done. I did then same thing works great

You need to be careful of poison ivy!
Pretty ballsy. How could you tell if there was a big rock or a stump hidden in there. I always walk the area thoroughly and pull out anything that might bend my blades.

Nice, I have beat the heck out of a troybilt pony this exact same way for years.
I've been where you're at dude, when it comes to overgrown land. Do yourself a favor, and get a DR Field and Brush mower. That machine will eat up anything you put under the deck, and it's self propelled. And Roundup is your friend.
Yep, I have a DR and a Husqvarna mower. I wouldn't think of taking the mower where I take the DR.
Roundup is poison ☠️ to the ground and who ever is around it...
@@courtw3231 seriously .. seems like people are just so eager to dump that shit all over the place

You need a DR field and brush mower or a good scythe would be better than ruining your mower.
Goats are cheaper, and they reproduce, and they make milk
We use cows they fucking eat anything in there way they have eaten through 5 foot tall black berry bushes
i use my 1250 cub cadet for vary tall grass to it is so easy for it
Your tractor played no games when it came down to cutting trees and tall Grass including bushes
i know the deck have to be high as he can get if not i see bent blades other then that this is a monster
Did you weed whip around the trees?

Crazy! How to destroy a lawn tractor in one season.
Puff,..... Puff,...... Pass!!
10:20 he takes a life saving pull off that Marlboro to get his mind right and show that turd who’s boss!
Did you return it to Lowe's after 28 days? I think I saw it in the sell as junk section.
Your description of the video using the words lawn mower wasn't exactly correct.
Definitely Need A Brush Hog Lawn Mowers aren't made for that shit!
How many hours on that machine?
Lol interesting video
I just did the same thing with my John Deere lt155
What lawn mower?
