#honda #crv #review - Auta a dopravní prostředky
The number on each key (1 & 2) is for different drivers. Whichever key unlocks the car will adjust the seats to the allocated driver (1 or 2).
Thanks for that!
Smart key is also available for driver 1
Right, I actually didn’t realize the numbers, I gave the other key fob to my son , and found out it’s the 1 😂
2018 CRV owner here. Nice review as always Paul, however I did notice that you had "eco" on, from the green "plant" being displayed in the instrument cluster in the review. That for sure dulls the throttle and makes it seem a bit sluggish even though you can slot the drive mode into "S"
Agree. Eco mode slows everything down but it won’t save much fuel. I drove 2019 CRV for four years and I found the 1.5T is just sufficient for 5-seater if ECO is off and fill it with RON98. It’s a shame that now the car is bigger and with 7 passengers onboard Honda still fits a 1.5T engine in it. It’ll be underpowered and sluggish all the time
beat me to it 😀 I noticed that too...I never use eco as I found with my 2019 CRV it uses more fuel funnily enough and of course slows things down.
I noticed that too!
@@wc5741efficiency must be terrible
Same here, the Econ mode dulls the throttle and you need to use more fuel to compensate for the power. Take the economy mode off and you will average 8L/100km.
Waiting for this for a long time and finally here. Thanks, mate
If I'm not mistaken, that's the old Holden proving ground at Lang Lang. It has been a decade or so since I was last there. Seeing the place brings back some good memories of testing vehicles to find and fix problems while I was an engineer with Holden. The ride and handling road was always my favourite test road, though the gravel roads past the sealed road area were a bit of fun too.
I have the 5th gen sport 7 seat crv for the past 4 years, averaging 7 litres/100 k's mainly city driving, No issues in passing lanes on the highway with the 1.5 litre turbo. We have travelled whole of NZ North Island in it including plenty of camping trips with 4 people and a full boot, it has plenty of grunt when you need it, obviously it's not a race car and no one is buying it for that purpose anyways. I have filled it up with 6 adults many times and gone to Paihia and back, again no problem with passing lanes even when going uphill. I had the 3rd gen CRV before this one so I am truly a Honda fan. Have booked in the 6th gen crv for delivery next year. I love the way it drives and handles, interior is premium and it has good after sale value.
I wanted to buy the hybrid AWD but it's not launched in NZ yet so getting the gas AWD.
Hi Paul. As usual nice review by u. I noticed that in this review u did a few more test on the vehicle than usual which is good. 🙋🏻♂️👍
Hey Paul and team, an idea I'd enjoy would be to test the size of the centre console storage with a standardised item, like you do with cupholders. It's hard to see the size of the storage from the camera's angle.
Would win any drag race in reverse for sure 😂
😅😅
🤣🤣😂😂👍 gold !!!
Was waiting for this video!
I was waiting for a while for this review. Thanks a lot.
As other mentioned, the key numbers are related to seat settings.
But I hoped that you give more details about the cluster monitor. As in VTi L models, it is not a full screen.
Also, lack of HUD and 360 camera is a shame.
But I love this one.
Hey Paul, nice review. Can see you had the eco mode on when u start to drive. The car is slightly sluggish on eco mode and gets peppier when you turn it off. It’s made to save fuel which in my testing was not that effective so might wanna turn it off and check the drive. Thx
I’m keen to see both the ZRV & CRV hybrid reviews. Keep up the great reviews.
Good review, thank you. I sat in one last weekend, only funny thing is when you sit sideway to get in or out of the front seat, the bucket edge of the seat is very high and hard, feels funny. I also sometimes tend to sit sideway with the door opened when waiting for something, that front seat is really sharp! No issue when sitting in driving position.
Great video as always! Just wondering, are you planning on reviewing the new Hyundai Sonata? Would love to hear your thoughts about it.
A very elegant car, but I’d prefer the hybrid. No spare though 🤔. The lane control works brilliantly in helping hold the position on a long journey, it’s imperceptible but really useful.
Wow, looks good. Watching from Kenya
Nice! I have been waiting for this, but for the RS HEV!!! Pls do another review soon and compare!
This please!!!!
That 5 leaves green icon in the middle of dash means that you are driving in ECO mode.
It’s for fuel saving and won’t give you kick and pick. Pls try again with turning that off.
Looks like this time Honda priced CRV pretty good in Australia.
I agree with your assesment of it's exterior design, I think it looks smart.
I think Honda are pretty underrated. I'm not sure on the exact sales numbers but I rarely see any CRV's around. That being said, I wish they were a bit cheaper lol. This goes for all major brands though. Feels like almost all new cars cost way more that they should, considering you could get a brand-new mid/large SUV for 20-30k just a couple years ago, and now they all start at 40k+ for the base model.
Honda sales have crashed dramatically in Australia since they went to the fixed price agency model and fired many long term dealers around Australia
All thanks to pandemic after COVID everything is expensive 😢
UNDERRATED?!?! More like OVERRATED!!! It is very expensive and yet they don't offer as much features and quality like the other brands!!!
@@daweigo6851 ah, actually didn’t know about the dealership part. Appreciate the info.
@@Xyb3rTeCh they’re very reliable though. My family had a CRV before and it had no issues at all. I do agree with the pricing part, the civic is way too expensive for what it is.
Thank you for reviewing, but hope you can review RS model soon.
Hey Paul...I really like and rely on your reviews....I am waiting for 2024 kia sorento facelift review.
I test drove the 5 seater AWD top of the range petrol model. Really impressed with the features and everything the car has except for the power. It's not sluggish by any mean, but it clearly felt underpowered. But then again for general non-maniacal driving, I think it's fine. The power delivery feels like my 1st gen 103kw Tiguan diesel.
In US, they get the 2.0lt engine option
2:50 On the Honda Key you get 1 and 2 which represent owner 1 and 2. So technically 2 is an spare key.
I read in the Honda manual the Eco mode will slow the acceleration and air con won’t work to the full capacity.
I note the test was done on Eco mode
hey Paul, you did all the performance tests with the eco mode ON, so I believe that will affect the car's performance
You can't do a 0-100 with econ on that's just hilarious lol
Random question, but what watch is Paul wearing in this video?
You get 2 keys, numbered 1 & 2, for the automatic seat position function
I’d love to know how Honda sales are fairing here in Australia since going to a fixed price agency model. I don’t know a single person who has purchased a Honda in the last 5 years or so.
2021 crv owner here and i can see the whole video you tested the car is on eco mode with the green leaf on and that makes the car have no power even on sport mode.
Would love to see the review on the RS PHEV model CR-V.. :)
I test drove one recently and found the Lane Keeping Assist seemed to favour the inside line of the lane which was quite nerve-wracking with oncoming traffic on the other side of the Highway. It was enough to put me off the car. You didnt seem to have this issue here in this review though, Paul. Curious to know, did you have much time outside of the filming and did you find it an issue at all?
Does it comes with a heads up display Paul? Thanks
Unfortunately not
You wouldn't think this is the same company that produced the Accord Euro 20 plus years ago. What the hell happened to them ? 😊
Hey you guys should do the new byd seal
Why no remote start in Australia?
Is this the fastest reverse ever😅. It just kept going can't think when it would come in handy though
Current 2018 crv LX AWD owner upgrading on Tuesday to the VTI-L AWD. The stretch for the LX for a few niceties wasn’t worth the extra $. The 1.5 cvt turbo has been awesome for 2 adults 1 growing teen, dog and plenty of bags for some great family get always. Definitely no lack of power when booting it but the CVT was overly noisy. Seems the new model CVT is hopefully slightly quieter from my test drive experience. Unless you have driven one stop the knocking the power train! Otherwise buy a Ferrari! The big disappointment is Honda Aust cutting options coming from the same Thai factory sold overseas - blind spot camera, 360 deg, auto speed locking doors and mirrors that auto fold in park. And a nicer rear end here only found on the LX and above. All to save a few bucks which means safety for the passengers isn’t their full priority. Otherwise the specs, overall drive and bang for buck fits my growing family perfectly for another 5 years.
All their cars are good. Its availability in the Australian market provides more options for consumers looking for a versatile and well-built SUV.
When will Honda start using matrix LEDs
Without the ev mode button??
I agree that this is a handsome car, and the interior looks attractive in a semi-minimalist way. Getting colour into a car interior in my experience is often met with, "I'll go with black because it doesn't get dirty so quickly." Umm... it accumulates sweat, dirt, and skin cells just as fast as any other colour choice. In any event, this isn't for me, particularly in front-wheel drive mode, and I'd be curious to see if the AWD version fares any better off-pavement than the previous model. If the right-hand side passenger seat doesn't slide and tilt for access to the rear row, then a centre-mounted child seat in the middle row will prove a real fiddle with that high-mounted tether point. I feel that 41+ metres stopping (unladen) is rather poor (and hearing the ABS cycle on and off from a relatively high speed makes me wonder what wet-road performance is like) and I'd reject the car on that alone.
good video.
As a owner of CRv vtiL7, the car feels like it struggles when you have to overtake someone or up on a hill. To get enough power, you have to rev the car hard. Given a choice I’d go for hybrid
1 means key 1 ? differentiated from key 2?
1.5 T how much the price in Australia
I don't know why they don't bring in the AWD hybrid. It would do well against the RAV4.
4:52 2018 CRV owner here. If this model does not have wireless Android Auto, that is a deal breaker for me.
Hoping for 7 seater AWD which CRV doesn’t have
Considering the ZR-V was created as a replacement to the CR-V in Japan, I really like how both models work really well within the same line-up of cars! But I do wonder why Honda gives their SUVs weak engines 🤔 (not weak in general, weak for an SUV 🤔)
1.5T is so underpowered, especially for 7-seater. I drove the 2019 CRV for 4 years. To get sufficient torque I need to make sure ECO mode is off and fill the car with RON98. And occasionally switch it to S mode to keep the gear low to let the car rev up. Now the new car is bigger, good luck with 7 passengers onboard
I don't think that is true of the ZR-V hybrid.
Can you please do a video of the Honda Accord?
I hardly see any old Accords around anymore and definitely not the new Accord😊
Have always liked Honda but this is under powered, especially for a 7 seat car. Put in a 2 litre power plant and it'll be a winner 😊
G’day!
Hahaha I was shocked about the reverse speed lol😂😂😂
كانت لدي موديل ٢٠٠٠٧ وهذا الموديل جميل جدا اخطط لامتلاك واحدة قريبا..
Any model apart from the top-spec AWD or eHEV with the complete digital cluster has no engine temperature gauge. WTF!! The Honda sales people didn't know about this bizarre omission. The drivetrain is the same as the previous model.
the horn though 😂😂😂
😅😅
I need you to test top of the rangers
I just want to know who at Honda said "you know what, lets just chuck in a clown horn"
😂😅😅
Probably a Tesla ex employee
@@boboiboy9350 Tesla's have loud horns
Wow 😮gee 90k's an hour in reverse 😅..and i think it was still going Paul...
I just test drove the RS model today, I couldn't find your review so I went ahead first!
It's missing a few features which I believe should've been included for the prices in comparison to its competitors, but the drive is actually really smooth and good torque with the hybrid engine.
Among all the other mid-SUVs, I feel this is the most mature looking one apart from the CX-60 which is quite a bit more expensive.
It looks good, I would consider buying this one. I didn't like the look of the outgoing one at all.
Outrageous in terms of small engine and high petrol usage.
Its so slow it breaks records going in reverse 😂
The interior needs more piano black, that would of been the perfect touch!!
Mg4 xpower plss
it is petty that Honda still applies that vertical backlight part to the new version. Personally, I think it devalues the car as it is a very old style of design. Pajero also got fewer sales due to the vertical backlight design for the new version of Pajero
Can you please post a detailed review of Hybrid CRV please. Most of the Australian reviews are useless..
I'm excited to drive backwards on the motorway 21:13
How can can car expert help to buy hondas when they are fixed price, does it come down trade in value?
We vet the dealers on our platform to make sure the buyer gets a good deal. Comes down to what’s in stock, trade in price, what the dealer is willing to include in the sale and depending on the brand it’ll be price too (not the case with fixed price brands).
@@CarExpertAusthanks
I almost never buy anything other than the base spec of any car. This is because (1) I find higher spec grades rarely offer value for money and (2) some of the so-called 'upgrades' I actually don't like, such as leather seats (hot, hot, hot!) and larger wheels (more expensive tyres). So I find it a little irritating that reviewers almost always choose (or are given) the highest spec variant to test or, more recently, always the hybrid version.Consequently, when perusing brochures and images, I have to ignore most of it because the info applies only to the variant most people WON'T buy.
no spare wheel in hybrid, again ???
these car manufacturers f..g piss me off - who tf need those 3rd row seats for legless people in behalf of having normal way of fixing flat tire in the middle of nowhere ???
Mazda CX-9
- curves
= CR7
You can't unsee it.
Mate, #1 on the key means that there's more than one key... most likely two
You seem surprised by the engine and uncertain about its ability but I’m pretty certain it’s identical to last generations engine.
90km/h in reverse. Must be the quickest escape vehicle for drug dealers!
9:23 😂😂😂
If the CVT simply reverses the rotation direction it could theoretically go just as fast in reverse as its forward top speed
also those power & torque numbers are pretty much the same as the accord euro's when it first came out 20 years ago
Is it just me, or do the rear inner tail lights look IDENIDENTICAL to Mazda cx5 lol
Are you putting a copyright on your signature wave and "G'day I'm Paul" greeting? 😉
All their cars look nice. Like how they don’t have fake headlight designs like with Hyundai.
The rear looks soo close to a Volvo
No hybrid "donder"? Thats where the sauce is. Much better milage a tad more grunt.
That back is definitely from Volvo. Interior is dark, dingy and uninteresting. Overall, a major improvement over all their previous gens
Nice car but the engine is definitely underpowered for a 7 seater car
Pointless to have a 1.5L engine if the fuel economy is still 9.5L/100km. My 2022 3.5L V6 Highlander gets 8.1L/100km on a combined cycle with 70-80% highway. The best combined consumption I've seen is 6.5L/100km on a run with 90% highway.
The green leaf, just means your driving well, not eco mode.
Second key “2”
Eco mode for the 0-100
I like this guy. Dont no why they call these an SUV.
They look very car like.
Nothing like a Cherokee, Escape or Rav 4.😢
240nm+cvt for when you've just given up
Eco was on😂
Made in Thailand?
Actually, those Made in Thailand Hondas are pretty good quality wise
Our 2022 Rav4 hybrid AWD has done 45000km and 😂averaged 5.9 litres per 100 km. It is also pretty quick off the mark, less than 8 seconds to100kph, l believe. Reliability faultless so far.😂 l balieve the Honda does not come close to those figures.
I considered the crv, but that driver seat is the worst. Those bolsters on the seat squab really dig into your butt and thighs, and I was feeling them 30mins after a 10min test drive. No reviewers mention this even with a taller and bigger person. Real shame coz the car was really nice otherwise
Take it off "eco" mode and it will be 10 time better.............................
Hopefully the hybrid review isn't too far away.
Mazda CX8 sport is still better which is less than this price range only thing is CRV is more roomy inside and comes with turbo
Looks like a mazda, what on earth
1.5 litre. Too small for that vehicle. A shame because it seems like a decent car. My CX5 turbo would slaughter this at the lights 😎
