Bob Baffert shouldn't have a Training License. Its a privilege not a right and he doesn't deserve to have horses in his care. The statistics and rulings against him verify this.
Statistics? He won his first KY Derby with an $85,000 horse. Silver Charm. His 2nd? $17,000. Real Quiet. All you see is the superstar today. Go back to Nogales Arizona and hear the tales of this guy who tore up the place. Statistics? I hope you are including the stats before the world heard of him.

Not a Baffert fan but glad that Johnny V got his Preakness. He dictated the pace of the race all the way around. Somehow knew it wouldn't be Mage's day.😢 Blazing Sevens really put up a fight. Exciting race!
Yes, the only thing that messed my betting up a bit was RR1. I had him down for show. Otherwise all my other bets won!

Buffert is a cheat
One of the best horse races I've seen. My dad was a jockey and a horse owner, so I spent most of my Saturdays as a child at the race track, mostly at Ross Meadows in Ada, Oklahoma, which isn't there anymore. It was good times. But this race is a instant classic. Loved it
It was excellent. Still have Bonecrusher Vs Our Waverly Star as the best.
What was so great about it? There have been 100s of races with better horses fighting down the stretch in horse rac8ng history.
How was this race one of the best races you ever seen? lol it was an absolute crawl on the front end 23.98, 48.93, 1:13 and change, that is ridiculous for any stakes race, but for a triple crown race? Bro it's just sad that's how bad these horses were. Watch the race again nobody is passing anyone except the lousy backpedaling Maryland bred horse the #4. You couldn't have a more boring race in my opinion, the race was over when I saw the half mile and 3 quarter mile times, no one can close into a crawl like that, national treasure got to pace himself out there on the front, boring race if you ask me

I just love the races, I have since I discovered them at 10 years old. Nowadays, I'm just relieved when no horses are injured. I fear this beautiful sport is going to be shut down with all these horse deaths. I hope they can figure out what's going on so it doesn't keep happening so often. He wasn't tired, he was fighting his jockey the whole race, it was clear early on he wanted to run and Javier wasn't listening to him. A horse will only fight his rider for so long, but he still ran a pretty good race. He'll have some good days ahead.

Tough front running win by National Treasure. It looked like he was going to be overhauled at the 200 metre mark but he kept fighting on, bumps and all. Very craftily ridden by John R. Velazquez with a slow pace in the first half of the race.🏇

Mages' jockey ran a horrible race. Held him back too long. Had a chance to go inside. Didn't take it. Then put himself directly behind the two leaders when the horse wanted to go outside. The jockey lost this race. Period!

Professional jockey on Mage should have known the "pedestrian pace" did not favor him and gone for broke wayyy earlier. Poor ride! Mage in the Belmont = no worries!

They did get very close, but I saw no evidence that they even touched, let alone crashed into each other.

The commentator evidently hasn’t figured out that National Treasure getting away with a slow pace to have enough energy to hold off Blazing Sevens is a ridiculous statement. EVERY horse had the same pace or slower so they should have had the same energy for the stretch. The better horse won, plain and simple

I thought Mage was going to get ‘em with a half mile to go. All three fired right then. They all had the same amount of gas in the tank. I thought it was a great race.

National Treasure has some of Secretariat's DNA and is distantly related to Mage. Horse has Championship DNA.
NT is not directly related to Secretariat. He has Something Royal and Bold Ruler farther in his line, but not Secretariat.
Red Route One, however is a direct descendant of Secretariat. Carries on that chestnut coat.

Now that we know that Mage is not the champ that won the Derby, this Belmont is getting interesting. He ran the race comparatively like he ran before the Derby....he might not run in the Belmont.

Nobody cared because they though he was a flash in the pan. 12 picograms got him suspended or banned. Wow. Go back to Nogales AZ and ask about this guy. Don't just settle for what you read 2 years ago. 30 years ago he was a nobody who won.
Over THIRTY horses trained by Baffert have failed drug tests. But the fines are meaningless. One of his horses crossed the finish line first at the 2021 Kentucky Derby and was disqualified for being drugged. The horse later died under Bafferts care.
There is no reason to believe that he ever runs clean horses at this point. American Pharaoh and Jusify (who failed a drug test after winning the Santa Anita Derby and right before winning the Kentucky Derby) should have large asterisks next to their records that says *Doubt

I’ve picked 9 winners in the Derby since Winning Colors, and the last two triple crown winners, but I hadn’t had a winner like this in 5 years. The triple didn’t pay much but it felt good to finally win one. Thank you National Treasure.
