57k for a FORD EDGE? these dealers damn lost their minds!
😂 LOL YOUR RIGHT!
It's not the dealer that's crazy it's the crazy consumer (willing to pay) and manufacturers with the overpriced vehicles.
It’s cause of the ST trim. The Edge isn’t worth it but the Explorer ST can boogie. You can smoke a $200k Audi R8 in that thing with the right tune. It’s a pretty good value for a track car that can double as a grocery getter.
The edge is a cool SUV and comes with the powerful engine. But it’s really only worth $40-$42.
Gov. , Hwy. Patrol sales. $$$
It is simple...the makers have "overpriced" their products. $50 - $70K for a basic truck...ridiculous!
All car manufacturers need to lower their prices. $30k is the average price most people can afford . But $45k and up is crazy .
Yup, they just keep holding out hoping the upper middle class will continue to buy. Eventually the money train will stop for them.
I'm pretty sure automanufactures are elaborating the next scam/idea to keep prices way high. Did they forget that we bailing out few years ago?
$30k is high.
@@thundergato84alright calm down in a reasonable world a ford Raptor fully loaded should be 47-50k not 30k

I think they will bring sedans back eventually. But maybe I’m wrong.
Showing that empty spot up front is just a gimmik used by Dealerships to make you think they sold something 😏
One Biden supporter purchased it.
crazy they doubled the msrp on cars and now people aren’t buying them. who ever would’ve seen this coming
I just about spit my coffee out when you said 48k for an escape.
yeah when it's a struggle to find any vehicle less than 30k, and it has motorcycle sized engine...it's bad.
My local ford has a bunch of mustangs and trucks for 5-8k off. Still overpriced. They have a lot full of cars just sitting…
@@angelgjr1999 Yeah there are a lot of 2023s sitting. I hope prices come back to earth at some point, none of these are worth the prices they are asking. Like you said, even $8k off doesn't come anywhere near where they need to be.
@@TheCarGuyOnline Agreed. We’ll see what happens.
@@angelgjr1999I’m interested in a new Mustang….im seeing them also for up to 6-7 off sticker. But not in NY…I want a base GT manual. It’s a $44.5k car. $35k is the max I’d pay for one. I’ll continue waiting
Bought my RAM new in 2014...to replace with same packages will be over $65,000. No way...they are insane.
Prices need to adjust it's ridiculous
Bought a brand new dodge ram 08..43k sticker...40 % off 0% interest. 0 money down..
Picked up my 2014 for 41k after saving 10k on a year end deal. It's literally double the price to replace the same 5.0 Lariat. Only expletives can explain how I feel about that.
I doubt most people can afford these prices or even the insurance. The auto manufactures got themselves into this by miscalculating what the buyers can afford. Just walk away and don't look back at this stuff. Don’t waste your hard earned money on overpriced vehicles. If you do buy it you’ll feel sick when you see the depreciation, the recalls but are stuck with the payments. Ford is the king of recalls.
Ford is trying to set a world record for recalls this year...no one can catch them LOL :).
I just bought my wife a 2024 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid, with trailer hitch, spray in bed liner, and full size tire for $32,553 OTD. This truck is replacing a 2013 Ford Fusion that averages 33 mpg. So far, my wife is averaging over 40 mpg with the Maverick and absolutely loves it. She like the idea of sitting up higher and all the room to in the cab.
$35,000 OTD for a top of line Cadillac fully loaded is my limit on price. Till prices drop to that
level, I'll just tool around in '97 Ford Ranger L/B P/U, till the 4 horsemen show up!
I took an escape from buying an escape because I neede an escape from high prices.
Who are you kidding, 90% of all truck buyers never go off road and tow a trailer. Most use them to run to Costco or buy few 2x4 from home Depot.
That goes to Jeep, SUV, bronco etc.
They keep it shiny and fixed up just for the show.😅
Well...I take mine off road and tow but I hear ya. Around me it's the same, pavement and garage queens everywhere :)
It’s the opposite where I live, 90% of trucks tow or go off road.

The economy and the cost to make stuff is crazy high. I work in the hospital and can tell you that we increased the cost of everything hospital wide. The supplies are double what they were 2 years ago due to chain issues.
And wages are nowhere near keeping up with any of it, whether it's insurance costs (health/home/car), food costs, normal goods at hardware store...it's all insanely inflated while wages have been relatively stagnant. It can't and will not go on forever, unless the govt. keeps propping it up in a fake manner, printing more money year after year. The most astounding thing about our country is how our politicians can have something called the "inflation reduction act", while printing money for things, which is the exact opposite of reducing inflation. Printing money always has and always will cause short and long term inflation. Children are at the wheel, the rest will suffer.
@TheCarGuyOnline you are 100% right. Since the 1980's everything has increased by 10x the amount it use to be or more. Meanwhile, wages have only increased 3x that amount if that. Our country is greedy and only care if you rich or if you are poor. The middle class keeps this country running. However, we see no benefit because we pay taxes for the rich, the poor, and ourselves unfortunately. This is a great method to make sure we do not become the rich. Honestly it's modern day slavery just painted and call the blue collar class lol.
Fun watching, lithium, rubber & plastic rust & decay.
They probably aren’t sold, they just wrote it to make people think they selling like hot cakes better buy now!
It’s got to be a sign to manufacturers that it’s common for someone to make videos laughing at their new car prices. Someone should let them know that peoples wages haven’t increased. I will not buy a car until they go back to 2019 prices plus 2% per year for inflation.
I agree, not only have wages not increased much, but everything else in life has increased so much these prices make vehicles even less attainable than when we weren't talking "inflation". Even if the new car prices were 15k less, our dollar has less buying power, insurance costs are 25% higher year over year, cost of living is up well over 25% in past two years...it's complete insanity. Everything needs to get corrected in a big way, the market typically does this but the govt. has been printing so much money in the past 4 years, the market has not been allowed to correct yet.
Seeing all these things sitting on the lot warms my heart❤️
Where are all these manufacturers getting their info that most want expensive cars trucks suvs. I personally want a simple roll up window maverick basic for max 22k why would I pay 30k when 30k I can buy a ranger a tacoma a frontier a Ridgeline base ?????? Maverick was ment to be the cheapest truck in Ford but greed greed
Love my 2022 F150 XLT crew cab 4x4 that cost me 45k. Jumped in price 20k in 2 years, now selling for 65k.🙄
You got lucky getting it for that price :).
The problem is, carrying a lot of inventory like the old days for great selection, used to be financed at 1% for the dealer’s floor plan. Now they are paying 6% or higher. The cost of inventory is unsustainable at these interest rates because it drives the price beyond what the customer can afford; as your quick survey showed.
Vehicle prices are out of control. It’s interesting to see how many window stickers have “credit” price deductions for options not installed due to chip shortage constraints….keeping the prices lower than they would be had the options were installed. And in actuality, the credits don’t really amount to anything. I think what may have started as chip shortages, is now a way for the manufactures to keep a lid on bubbling over pricing.
Yeah they seem to be hoping that the upper middle class folks will just continue to buy regardless of the price. I think that has been the strategy for the past year or so. If they can sell fewer vehicles at 25%-40% higher prices, they'll gladly do it for as long as the market will bear it.
FJB.
I believe the fords with the "special order" if they are sitting there that meant someone walked in and ordered it and then backed out the deal when it came in. If it doesn't say special order then the dealer ordered it for stock.
You’re correct all the vehicles with the green window stickers were special ordered for a customer .
Let's be honest...they're (the maverick's) are too small for the money.
I’m painting my calipers tomorrow for that track package. Thinking about doing cardboard carnards too.
Put some baseball cards in the spokes 😅
ROFL….
With those prices I rather to get a Toyota Highlander of a RAV4
I have had an excellent experience with a 2.7 ecoboost. 2016, 6 speed with 184k miles (15% dirt road miles as a farmer) and no issues besides common maintenance and a wheel bearing replaced. it still drives like a rocket ship. I change the oil every 5 to 6 thousand miles. I would not shy away from buying another at a good price.
I’m seeing still markups and add on’s here in Florida! 🙄
All depends what you're looking for.... All vehicles should be marked down 10 to 15 K and they are doing that here in Florida also.... Car shoppers need a backbone that's all....
If the the government repealed the CAFE laws, gas guzzler tax, DOT safety regulations such as back up camera and airbags, automobiles would be a lot more affordable.
Edges are great vehicles. Unfortunately Ford had discontinued them for the next year. I was also less than thrilled with their decision to put a giant touchscreen in for the console. Hopefully Ford will reconsider on both counts.
8% mortgage rate now. Cars tend to be higher. If you can't afford it, buy used.
You are not saving anything by buying used
lol people need to stop buying with debt. These interest rates are crazy
I sat inside several new trucks In a ford dealership where I live and there was lots of them. But none of them smelled like new in the inside . You know why ? because people are just opening and opening and opening the doors and sitting inside. They are just looking and looking and looking but are not buying. 😅
My salesperson laughed me out of the showroom 24 months ago. The Lightning was going to see $10-15k ADM. He laughed at me for thinking the price I ordered was the out the door price plus TTL.
Yeah it'll be nice when the tables fully turn and they are begging folks to buy.
They are still too high. Never pay more than MSRP, and or, what the insurance will pay when you drive it off the lot.
The problem is that Ford may be down in revenue, but they're up in profits.
They've figured out they can make more while selling less vehicles.
The only way this will change is if people stop over paying.
Considering the prices of all vehicles, they are actually selling very well.... but that doesn't get views on CZcams. We all know that.!!!!
And people say teslas are expenses... Can get a new performance 3 for less than those mustangs. And model y less than the exployers.
And Tesla actually knows what they are doing :)
But Tesla is not a real car.

This is an excellent channel. He goes right to the point and shows the car and price. And gives you a vision of what’s on a car lot without being there. And gives you his two cents. There is no unending narrative. Just the black and white. Why is there so much inventory ? He poses the question and let’s the viewer come to their own conclusion.

So much for the working man being able to have a vehicle 😢
I bought my 2017 F150 when Ford had $16K rebates. $43k turned to $27K which made it affordable. Current mileage on it is just over 40,000 and its kept in a garage so I think I can make it last for a while longer without getting schlonged by a dealer. I could easily afford a new one but will not pay this much for one.
You can get a Chevy WT trim level with Adaptive-Cruise Control (ACC) in the 1/2, 3/4 ton trucks. Ford and RAM you have to go up 1-2 trim levels which costs $$$ more. The Silverado 1500, WT, single cab, 2WD, 5.3L for $43,000.00, and the Silverado 2500 HD, WT, single cab, 2WD, LWB, 6.6L gas for $52,185.00. I didn't configure them with a tow pkg since only tow below 3K in weight with a utility trailer. As a senior, I require high-end safety tech including ACC. My only complaint with Chevrolet, they only offer Powder-coated white steel rims on the 1500, 2500, and 3500 Express Vans. I'll have to do it myself or have a body shop do it for me.
Would not even bother to walk no to lot. Just crazy prices. I paid 12k for a ranger in 2000 then paid 17000 for a f150 in 2009. Know way I would pay 50k for a truck.
Joe Myers Ford in Houston has a side lot full of new full size Broncos
Until they start giving very large discounts AND they let us finance at low rates, let all these vehicles sit. The dealers I go to either give you the discount or let you take advantage of the finance specials. WE WANT BOTH!
WHO CARES, let them all go under.
In 2018 they were asking $36k "for a fix or repair daily" Edge SEL, all wheel drive, v6 with a tow package, cloth interior, - moonroof in the Spring of 2018. Got it discounted for just under $34k as they wanted to get rid of it which was still too much and now they are $44k!
Nope.
My current Highlander Limited AWD almost fully loaded (traded the Edge off in '22) was that much, $44k in 2016 and was quite steep but still worth it IMO. There is no way I would drop that sort of coin on a 2024 Edge, most likely equipped with a horribly underpowered 4 cylinder too.. a total DOG! And there is no way possible I would spring $57k for an Edge ST (or Sport trim back then) those were around $46k in 2018.
That company and those stealerships are straight tripping.
The other day I peeked at a brand new Highlander XLE AWD on the lot and they wanted $46k for it. A Grand Highlander Limited AWD they wanted $54k. I wouldn't even go for those right now since Toyota deleted the v6 option on the Highlander. I looked at a 2023 model over a year ago on the showroom floor and was completely unimpressed as everything inside of it felt like a chintzy, cheap 20 year old Corolla whereas my 2016 still has nearly a Lexus feel to it, fit and finish.. WAY nicer. Sadly Toyota has really gone downhill in my opinion these last couple of years. A used 2021 Highlander Limited v6 AWD with almost 40k miles on it was sitting there and beat all to Hell, completely keyed up and scratched up they were asking $39k.
Sorry for the long diatribe, I wanted to give some context of where I am coming from.
price fixes everything. these prices are far from reasonable.
I sure hope actual MSRP drops by August across the board. It's time they stopped taking advantage of the "chip shortage" narrative.
No thanks. Everything to expensive. Will keep my clunker and no monthly payments
still, 27k for a dink truck?
The dinks matter too…;)
Fancy painted calipers on a Ford Edge is as useless as teats on a boar hog. Why would anybody pay extra for that?
Red paint = faster :)
I recently bought a 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis with 38,000 miles, in near perfect condition for $6,000. I'll drive it for 5-10 years, with regular maintenance. Anyone paying more than $25,000 for a car is an idiot.
That car will last indefinitely
$27k for a damn 4 cylinder? 😢
Ford can go broke before i would pay what they want. I loved my ranger and it only cost me 21.000 and it was xlt and had the best sound system i have ever heared. I have a nissan now and only paid 18.000 for it. Its a 2015
Bring back the Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit and Chevy Spark!
Yaris is absolutely everywhere here in Europe Toyota smashed it with the 2020 Design.
Who the hell is buying edges and why? I cant imagine buying one of these unless you work for Ford.
So sad. A few years back, I purchased a new 2020 F150 FX4 XLT 3.5L with a tow and sport package for 52K out the door
Inflation is quite simply deterring spending. My home is about to be sold after increasing in value by 68%. To fight the urge to buy a vehicle is tough, but there’s no way in this economy I should ever think that’s a good decision - no matter the discounts. This is batshit crazy.
way overpriced. I would not buy any Ford now and in the future.
Aug would be the start of the 2025 model year........they are in trouble still carrying loads of 2023s at this time
I am looking to buy my third Mustang, but the prices are too high and the markup even higher so I’m waiting with the 2025 look like or maybe the 2026s they still look like a glorified 2015 no changes at all hardly I got the 2004 mustang GT and the 2014 Mustang GT Both paid for when they lower the price. I told them to give me a call. I can snatch one up maybe around 45K
I looked at a 2024 Camaro LT1 same motor as SS, beautiful blue with black top convertible for 47k if I didn’t allready own 4 nice cars and trucks all payed for I would have bought it! These LT1 convertibles are hard to find! 10k less than hard top Mustang!

Dude, $40,000.00 for a Maverick unreal.
I agree..pretty bananas.
They are down 1.7 billion but they are also selling a lot less vehicles. If you compare now versus pre pandemic they are still doing just fine profit wise.
Their commercial division saved their bacon in Q1, everything else is not doing well, on a downward trajectory which it should be. You are right they are still "profitable", but folks need to look at the details and what's making them profitable. I don't think it can be sustained. They still have a lot of things they can do to bail out their consumer division though, they can offer 0% for 72, lower prices 10k (and still make money), etc. They'll start pulling out all these trucks for memorial day/4th of July sales, then August will hit and we'll see even bigger cuts.
Broncos here in CT they’re still adding 30k above, they can go under.
They need to get regular 1500 trucks back to 30k again these prices have just gone insane if people will just say no the prices will come back down to affordible levels. What really pisses me off is Toyota makes a Truck that starts at 10k and they still sell the Hylux starting at 15k , but they are not sold in the USA thanks to our retarded Government and dumb policies! How many struggling people would love to buy a new reliable vehicle for 15 grand or less? Sad for the 1st time in my life I had to keep my old truck and just buy my wife a new car. Got her a Camry in 2020 and I kept my old 2003 Silverado. Now I am considering buying a new engine and transmission and keep driving it. We used to buy both of us vehicles and could afford payments long gone are those days.
Yeah I agree, it's really getting out of control. I think the manufacturers have figured out that they can sell trucks to the upper crust folks, and sell fewer while still making good profit. win win for them, not so much for most folks.
Won't be long and the 2025s will be rolling in.😊
Maybe Ford will hold them back for "quality issues" like they did recently. My theory is, Ford didn't have anywhere to send the vehicles so they just sat on their lots in Michigan. I think it's crazy they were not shipping F150s, shutdown plants etc., and we still have this crazy stock.
People are so stupid 😂 reason lots are full, is they are making way more...without sedans, more time to make their best seller...which I might add, is once again so far the best selling vehicle of 2024
Interesting too, the Tesla Model Y outsold all cars in 2023, I think they sold 1.2m. Ford F150 is still selling a lot but Chevy is right on their heels in 2024 which is odd. Traditionally Ford just blows everyone out of the water with F150 sales, but they are declining year over year. It's likely due to the high price tag. Ford seems perfectly happy selling fewer units for higher cost, much more profit per vehicle.
$40k for a Ford Escape !? Lol I recently rented one last week for a road trip because my flight got canceled, man that Escape is a piece of s**** ! Maybe its my fault for always owning V8 engines but man you can feel the difference
I make by myself $130,000 per year, my wife brings in another $50,000. We live in a paid off house. Still there is absolutely no way that I would pay over $35,000 for any vehicle. All they do is get you from one place to the other. They depreciate in value, they need maintenance, you have to insure it, and you have to pay for the gas in it to go. Then there is the tags and taxes, then if your broke ass finances it, the interest. No way in hell am I giving a bank thousands of dollars in interest on something that just loses value. That is just nuts. Do the math on a new $70,000 truck. No way does it come out to be a good buy. Not even paying for it with cash. If someone is driving around in one of these things and makes payments on it, they are what we call in my neck of the woods a fool.
Yup, well said.
Ridiculous M$RP's. No thanks.
Bought a new truck a few weeks ago. Looked at all of them and ended up with Chevy. Ford isn’t discounting their trucks nearly enough. Got the Silverado $13k off. Still overpriced but at least more reasonable.
That's one of the biggest discounts I've heard of from viewers. What did you end up getting? People seem to love the 2.7L still...just wondering what you got/trim/engine etc.
@@TheCarGuyOnline I got a 2024 LTZ with the 5.3l (I’ll pray the lifters don’t fail). On the LTZ trim specifically, Chevy is giving $2,750 cash allowance and another $2,250 trade in allowance. Dealer then had a $7,500 dealer discount. So ended up $12,500 off msrp then dealer had “lifetime tint” for $500 that I got them to take off. My local dealer is basically taking the chevy incentives then adding a dealer discount to make the total discount $10k off, then if you have a trade in and purchasing an LTZ, you get the additional incentive from Chevy.
@@John-vh1fk Interesting. That might be what all these dealers will end up doing later this summer, finding ways to deduct $2500 here, $2000 there and total some value that makes sense. I'm guessing that LTZ is pretty nice inside, how you liking it?
@@TheCarGuyOnline loving it so far. Needed more payload capacity so that’s why I ended up trading in my Titan for it. Gained about 600lbs of payload. Really like the interior on the refreshed Silverado/sierras too.

I will be in the market for a truck sometime in the next year.... It looks like there will be deals like back in 2009 to me. The rebates are coming!
That blue Mustang rocks!
That thing was very sexy....
I still wouldn’t pay over 50 grand for one. Way too much for a toy.
Dealers would sell more trucks and make more profit if they sell under MSRP than selling a very few trucks at or above MSRP but they are blinded by greed.
Interest rates have little effectt on cars. You shouldn't have a loan more than 4-5 years and leaning towards the shorter end if the vehicle is used (less life in the car with certainty). They are not like home loans.
Point is, the prices are way too high and interest rate discounts will not solve the problem, compared to houses where each 1% or 100 basis points is roughly the equivalent of 10% of monthly fixed home costs.
Prices aren't coming down. This is the new norm. Trucks will be purged from average people, will only be for businesses by design
I sure hope not. Time will tell.
Lost their minds for bankruptcy
Why pay 50grand for a car vs a truck 🤔🤔🤔…. 🤷🏾♂️ijs
Lots of people don't need a large and expensive low-MPG pickup truck to pick up stuff at Lowe's, thus the Maverick fits a need.
The bed is so small, what are you picking up though? It's about the same size as a mid-sized SUV with the seats down.
@@TheCarGuyOnline We don't have a truck so we bought a large plastic tub and put towels in our Telluride. Then to the nursery, Lowe's etc. for dripping wet bags of rocks and leaking pots of flowers and milkweed. A garden hose & a bed would be convenient for this big project.
LOWER THE PRICES
I wonder if the percentage of repossessions will go up, since price and interest is going to bury people.
The only vehicle I really liked was the broncos, but it would have to have a V6 and I wouldnt pay over 22,000.00. My bid is low? Dont be so sure people as if more of you would starve them out you actually see that
