@@smuggums3879 it depends. On the MMX collection i fired the cannon two times on different runs to see if it was different. Both of those were successful. Guess i got lucky. But i dont know. Might try again so see if i get the same results.

@@VERGILZERO I have a really hard time choosing any favorites from X5 if I am to be completely honest. Since X5 was intended to be the final game in the X series, its easy to understand why they went all out on the music. I will say, however, that I wish they didn't use Bubble Crab's song for Duff McWhalen and went a different route, but considering the original unused track wasn't that great (which you can listen to here: watch?v=WKrUYMWNOwE) I can't fault them for it. Either way, both tracks are still good even if one is more appreciated than the other. I personally still appreciate them equally coming from a game that defined my childhood.

Ultimate Armor only shows up there if you are unarmored though, so good thing to keep in mind.
Doing the virus stages first was definitely unexpected. It makes sense, though, because it allows for building up the boss levels until you can get the items, right? Very neat. Oh, and, of course, you get the ultimate armor and black zero early on, that must help things along, too.

Surely, but the enigma probability succeeding is relatively low... In normal game, it will took us relatively long... For that, there would be idle moments like 4 stage skips before starting the game... Not quite sure...
@@cainespade514 Typically in TAS’ there’s RNG manipulation, so before the firing of the enigma, certain movements with X to make him basically dance is the Enigma to always land a hit.
@@kobedepietro1044 You can watch all the demos from the main menu until you find the X in fire stage demo before starting the run and press start immediately during the X & Zero Silhouette screen (NOT INTRO) this will keep the fire stage demo looped just in case you mess up on the run. This manipulates the rng success rate for the enigma shot. You'll get a guaranteed hit. 👍

So dumb that in order to get Duff McWhalens armor capsule, you have to already have beaten him and grabbed his power so you can hit the switch with it, requiring a minimum of 2 goes in his stage.

Rolanmen1 my apologies I am just asking as someone who hasn't really even played X5 before. there doesn't seem to be as many notes to like what is actually going on in the game
Oh, my apologies MrKcspot. Basically this game implements a different mechanics. To get to the final stages, you either have to succesfully shoot a Giant Laser Beam to space colony (where Sigma is) wich is succefull base on luck, beating each of the stages to the left improves your chances, otherwise you have to send a Space Shuttle with Zero in it wich will definitely crash onto the colony, but you can loose Zero in the process wich is also based on luck, beating the other 4 stages improves your luck.
So in a nutshell, the TASer by manipulating luck, he can get the Giant Laser Beam to be succesfull after the intro stage so you can access the final stages getting Black Zero and the Ultimate Armor. He also want the 8 main bosses to be at higher levels to get some Parts by beating the Final Stage firsts.
Rolanmen1 thanks. does clearing those 4 stages on the left guarantee success with the laser? if not how good are the odds? it's pretty crazy that a Megaman storyline would rely on luck.
I can't recall, maybe 80% or something. And yeah this game is a drag for some people for relying too much on luck. You can find more specific data on the megaman wikia

I wonder how many "TAS only" tricks are able to be pulled off without the Tool-Assist, like, getting the first try on Enigma and getting to the final stages earlier than you're supposed to. That sounds really cool but hard to pull off.
On the PC version there's a way to actually manipulate the Enigma to succeed quite easily with needing TAS tho
There’s also RNG manipulation by starting the game, and once you get into the first stage, quit. Then you have to wait for a certain animation in the opening screen, where you see the AI play as X or Zero. Then go to your saved game, load, then fire the Enigma. Success.
This trick can be humanly done, but requires some practice. Speedrunners use this trick to greatly increase the odds to open up quickly the Zerospace stages.

Almost twice as long to go through all the cutscenes and text boxes towards the second level as there was game play for the intro level.

in normal, possible, yes. in xtreme... have both etanks full.
The main concern is the spikes part especially when you get both at the top like he did at 6:44. The only thing I would come up with trying to defeat the boss asap and playing until I get good rng with no spikes at the top.

@@jesuscastellano994 basicamente debes presionar el boton con el que haces el dash seguido del boton, de atacar, cancelar el ataque con el dash y volver a atacar una vez y asi susesivamente, obviamente debes hacerlo rápido, con un poco de práctica sale sin problemas

No, it's not a hack.
Dash-Canceling.
By dashing after the first couple of slashes, you can do them again. The boss gets no IV frames from the first two slashes, meaning it fucking kills them in seconds.
