Heeey! thanks for hanging out with me while I share this new closet clean out / declutter! I went thought a few closets in my house and got rid of so much stuff! I decluttered a lot and it was so satisfying! I didn't go through my clothes, but I did get a new wardrobe that I am excited to share with you AND I went through my closet - you know the crap that isn't clothes so that was good to get rid of so much stuff I don't use! I also decluttered and kind of organized Meredith's closet and decluttered and organized Wentworth's closet too! It was good and more to come, little by little I'll get this place in order! Keep one tote in the garage for every child with their special things: baby blanket, pictures, ultra sounds, special clothes. My parents did this for us four kids and now I'm 30 and cherish those things!! They do bring back great memories.
I am 63 years old. One of my favorite possessions is a pair of handmade suede moccasins that my grandma made for me when I was an infant. Little tiny baby shoes that I wore 63 years ago. They make me think of how much I loved my grandma. She was the sweetest lady.

Good morning Kim🙋🏻♀️ I’m a quilter, you should just keep the a couple of the outfits or blankets that were each of your baby’s “firsts” , and find someone in your area to make you a keepsake quilt of your first sweet memories with each one. When they get older you can show them their first Christmas outfits, or a piece of the blankets you used to cuddle them in. My children are now adults, and they love theirs🥰

Well, most people already do have two hands. Maybe she was trying to say two extra hands or arms. But not every woman is a mom, too. Either by choice or not able to be a mom and they also say they need more hands to clean or work and multi-tasking. My sister has four daughters under the age of 11 to a 2 year old, she needs to be an octopus sometimes! But what does she do? Calls me for extra help, I don’t mind. Lol
So the empty baskets…maybe designate one per child and when you pick up gifts put them in there so they don’t get misplaced or forgotten. I finally had to do that bc every year I’d find a stash of hidden gifts. I even have a family/friend bin.
Have one bin for each kid and keep their special things for them. Couple outfits, ultrasounds, artwork, anything that’s pertains to them.

Kim! You need a tote in your closet specifically labeled GIFTS and everything you buy for your children or others (including candy!) goes in there so you always know where to look.
Every so often, We stored away our kids toys little by little, in the attic, it was just comforting to them to know it was still there. Last week my 18 yr old said “okay mom, I’m ready to donate them”. Seeing you find old baby clothes now you feel ready to let them go. Everyone is ready at their own time. 😊

You need a Memory Bin for each person in your family. Perfect place for the ultrasound pix.
I have a tote for "gifts". It is full of gifts for all ages and male, female that will fit the people we know, as well as gifts for our co-workers who have babies. Get a tote and throw some of that stuff in it. You may need a "Spring" tote for the candy, toys, etc. for the spring holidays. You are set for Valentines and Easter. Love your videos!
Every week, I schedule a drop off at my local thrift shop. Even if I don’t know what I’m taking. It helps keep clutter out!

KIM! Do yourself a huge favor and just buy a Pax wardrobe system from Ikea. My husband did my closet in the black/brown Pax system and it's phenominal!! So easy to keep everything nice and organized and it's completely GORGEOUS!

Our daughters name is Avalina! Haha so if we lived closed we’d pick up the personalized items since we all know she won’t find them in stores! Haha all 3 of my girls have names that won’t be find on a keychain! Hahah
Oh Wow! What are the odds of that? That’s such a pretty name too, I never heard that name before. You chose a pretty name for your daughter! 😊. I use to hate my name, all my little childhood friends had the cutest names that were popular in the early ‘60s, My name is Jeanette, to this day, I can’t find anything with my name on anything. It’s either Jeannette, two n’s, or Janet, sometimes I’ll find a Jennett. My name was popular during the time I was born, I guess. And my parents liked French names, it was cool then! Lol..I did work at a toy store in ‘83 and we had the mini personalized license plates and of course my name wasn’t on there. I told my boss, he was a cool boss and he brought out this long thin cardboard of names and he said look for my name. To my surprise I found my name and I got all happy lol.. he ordered the name Jeanette and he just handed one to me and to our surprise, those “Jeanette” mini license plates were all sold within a month! He added Jeanette to his orders after that! I still have the mini personalized license plate with my name on it. 😁

You need a big memory bin for each kid. When you don't know if it's sentimental and you want to keep, toss it in there. Hope this helps!

Watching your videos is like watching a sitcom.
I put some leftover Christmas treats I forgot to give in a “little free pantry” in my town. I was in the area the next day and noticed they were already gone. If you have those they’re a great spot to put leftover snacks that weren’t a hit with your family. (I also took a bunch of granola bars from Costco my kids didn’t love).
I have absolutely enjoyed all your videos since I found them a few months ago. I think I subscribed on the first video. You have a great personality and I just enjoy watching you and getting jealous of all your energy. I get a lot done myself but you have the entertainment value I just do not possess. Keep it up!

Way to get stuff done, as usual, Kim! 🎉 I was moral support & organizing helper for my 25 year old as he cleaned & purged his closet of his home this last weekend! It’s so fun but more rewarding when “they see the improvement!” I hope he keeps it up! Organizing is my JAM! Love watching it, and doing it! You my dear are so motivating and fun! Ultrasound photos are just like any photos make a album out of them
My mom kept my ultrasounds with my birth certificate folder from the hospital. Not really the birth certificate, but they had my baby footprints on it from the hospital with how much i weighed when born. I'm 29 now and was going through my stuff and it was neat seeing all that. I didn't remember seeing them when I was younger. And some day when your kids are adults, you can give those to them and maybe they'll think it's neat to have those too.
Started the New Year good, went through a bunch of pictures,plus decluttered one bedroom downstairs, did the linen closet down also. Was going to start the next bedroom, and Saturday morning this ol gals back decided it needed a rest🙄Today I’m on day 4 of not doing anything,, oh wait I did manage a shower, didn’t get the feet washed, but squirted my soap on them and used my hand help nozzle! But I remembered what Kim says “ITS GOOD ENOUGH” It’s my motto for 2023!!
This is just a bump in the road, there’s ALWAYS TOMORROW here in Minnesota…Hugzzzzzzzz

Those memories shadow boxes are to put up on the wall in their rooms or a special place in your room or somewhere that'd be special! It's OK to keep some things from each child but not too much, I did & they could care or less. So like I said just a few things, like the shadow boxes I think are neat! I have one with my parents & each of their kids, I have a sister & brother, & I put their 50th anniversary pic that was in the paper! So I love to look at that & think about those memories! ♥️☺️🫂🎉

It is pouring down rain, I am totally feeling ya throwing away stuff...what I HATE ABOUT ORGANIZING is what I organize pilfers out into my home & by the end of it I have poured myself a MASSIVE drink of water, Ice Tea, or wine...depending on how long the endeavor took me! Yesterday...I changed the motif on my table in my living room! 3 hrs later it looked outstanding. I had found stuff for every single room PLUS the garage! I pinched a nerve in my back. Hence....I am drinking a massive coffee in a "I'm Weird. I'm A Weirdo. Tumbler, trying to live my best life watching you declutter! AND THE WORLD KEEPS ROTATING!!!! Thank you Kim! I'm going through every room in my house and decluttering the heck out of it, and it feels sooooo good! So far, I've done my kitchen (that was a big project) and my bedroom, and I'm currently working on my laundry room. Not only am I decluttering, but I'm washing walls, curtains, etc. in each room too. It feels soooo good! This helped keep me motivated! Now I want brownies though. LOL
What an inspiration. I now want to get after it and make those tough moves and get rid of everything that is no longer needed. Thanks for all of your videos! You are AMAZING in my eyes!

The way you go through your things reminds me of myself. It makes me giggle.
Ultrasounds ...... so many possibilities. If you have pictures of the best ones, just toss the rest. If you make Shutterfly books for each of the kids, you could include them, and there you have it. Or you could put them in memory bins for the kids. I HIGHLY suggest a memory bin for every member of the family. Not a huge tote, but a smaller bin that you can put special memories in. And have a tote for family photos. This helps me SO much, because if I'm looking for a baby book, or a sentimental item, I know exactly where to go.

Hope that you and the family r doing well Kim. Sending u all my well wishes. I am too much of a sentimental person too get rid of things. I know I have kept every stuffed animal my fiancé has gifted me since we have been together. Now I need one of those stuffed animal nets now as a result lol. I'm just too sentimental with gifts from him especially. Love ur videos Kim and I hope that you and your family are staying healthy.

Hi Kim, In regards to the baby stuff, i.e. lock of hair, first time things, etc., you should set up containers for each child and place them there so you can give it to them when they leave the house. Always nice to show them how little they were. Even a sonogram picture for each child. These are the things they will share when they finally have a significant other and their own children. Great job decluttering but don't want you to regret not keeping things specific to each child to pass down...
Kim you are the best...and I think you have a shoe addiction! I literally own 7 footwear items which includes house slippers, crocs, flip flops, sneakers, boots, slides! lol

I got my son’s first suit he wore to church. I can’t find if for my grandson. I have 3 more months to find it because we fostered him at six months and adopted him at one year.
On the kids sentimental stuff get a tub and throw it all in. Then put it in the garage or wherever and they can look at it later.

If you try to declutter when nothing fits, You are usually more honest with yourself about how much you really enjoyed wearing it - and you'll only save the ones that you absolutely love for when they might fit you again. Plus, then you have room for a few new pieces as a reward for yourself 😀

I think it’s great that you made the kids shadow boxes. You’re already ahead of me, and my youngest is 18! 😂 If you don’t have an emotional connection to the stuff, then don’t keep it. But if you think your kids might get a kick of seeing how tiny they were, keep one clothing momento. Really, I think your kids are best to say hey this is special for me, I want to keep it. 😊
I have the golden egg too. Haha! My toddler daughter has loved it since last Easter. It’s been in our living room in her play area, since. It’s a keeper in our home😅

Dollar tree has bins that you can put in your drawers like the ones from Ikea. They aren't as sturdy of course but being that they are in the drawers and not being moved around they work perfectly. That should help with keeping the drawers tidy.

I would keep the storage bins you don't need now because I'm sure you will need them for something in the future. That way you can shop in your stuff instead of buying more.
