Darnell U this may sound obvious but you shouldnt try to do stuff because it makes sense to go for that in this situation but rather do stuff because your opponent is gonna think u do something more obvious. perfect example is coming down with buttons after a successful up tech. i might seem like a good idea (off course this is situational) to go for it if your above them but a decent player will get the 2h 90% of the time. instead you should try to read that he is waiting for the 2h because he sees your up tech and either try to get out with an advancing special or just block the 2h... even a really good player wont be ready most of the time to cancel the 2h into a special that could lead to a mix up. at lower ranks some ppl always superdash after 2h wich is easy to punish. but a general rule to read your opponent or to play neutral (specially in scrambles) is to not try to guess what the opponent is gonna do but making him think he has a read on you and punishing that.

Quick tip. Practice meaty timing. For when people down tech, when they delay tech, when they up tech. If you don't jump then forward tech gets then out of the corner. You can't always cover 100% of everything but you can cover most options. So, practice different meaty timings, different timings for maybe dragon rush on wakeup like if they up tech, jump DR is amazing.

mega dude cuz snap let you get some oki/setup that covers (almost) everything after a hit, a lot of time in DBFZ it doesn’t feel like you get rewarded for getting a SD. But snap did look boring as fuck, but it let people get their money’s worth out of a confirm

    • @cenizen

@@jasn6972 You just contradicted your own argument, when you have setups that cover (almost) everything, it's literally unfair since you can't counterplay that shit. You shouldn't get rewarded so much off something as easy and good as a superdash.

If you use your assists, they don't recharge simply because you let them out of blockstun - now they have to be out for X amount of frames (easy rule is that if they can tag, then your assists start coming back).

One thing holding this game back from actually being good: Auto-combos on whiff. Patch that shit out already man. It would improve the tiers, to say the least.

Dont just auto combo, tie it in with a lockdown down combo on the ground or something. If they jump then have some kind of air tech or something for their reversal. Lab it yo

@@Af0 thats just auto combos in general, someone could easily hit 2M on a whiff and do a whole structured combo or just auto-combo, its just like, dont whiff at that point, lab by setting the ai to do what you need it to do. Make combos airtight so you dont whiff or cover your options with assist more

Why would I practice offline tech if I’m never going to play offline?
Me playing as if it’s offline online only benefits you. You want me to not do something so you don’t get frustrated online because you don’t want to adapt you just want to blame the 3fps delay.
I’m not talking about mashing either. It’s just your idea of adopting offline tech for online tech is dumb.

If you don't care then just do you, I'm not trying to stop you. There's nothing on the line in ranked anyways.
But often, there are people who perform well online and don't realize that they are too used to a different type of environment. It's worth addressing if you're trying to improve at both the game and the genre.
