30 paid vacation days? I'm moving there
20 days is mandatory when you work 5 days a week and 24 when you work 6 days a week, but 30 is the norm, I'd say. I've 30 aswell.
A while ago I had a job with 25+17 paid days of vacation. (25 were free to plan and you could carry over for 4 years or get paid out at the end of the year, and 17 were "ATV" days which you'd lose if not taken, could not be paid out, and were partly pre-planned by the company)
When I was on vacation in the US, my American friends there had a really hard time actually understanding, and then believing, the concept of so many vacation days.
My hubby gets 10 days off in July and Dec because they shut down...then he gets to schedule his days off..it's 20 or 30 days
Still not enough for working our lives but it’s better than other countries who want slavery. People deserve more holiday and less working hours mostly now we may not even have retirement..
I have 36 days - I take 12 in a row (Monday till Friday following week) and with the weekend before and after I get 16 days off in a row. So intake February, May into June and mid September my vacations.
My work requires working every second weekend. So I love my payed time off work!
I get 30 days of paid vacation... Over a period of six years 😅
:o
Slavery...
Then you have the wrong job and live in a country where worker exploitation is still allowed.
Is that common??
@@Nikioko I live in Brazil, where that isn't allowed. But I work for a US company, so...
Okay girl next step is buying the bread from a bakery instead of a supermarket 💃🏻✨️ so much better
but also more expensive + difference in taste isnt usually that big
@@5fr4ewq the price difference is absolutely worth it. Its not that expensive and way better
Not necessarily. Many free tv channels have done tests on this and many chain bakeries resort to the same methods and quality standards as in the supermarket.
@@jessislistlessyeah but we’re not talking about chain bakeries. We’re talking about local bakeries, that bake their bread fresh
@@keck4022 Local bakeries are always the better option. It keeps money in the community and encourages local growth.
I jumped when I saw the apron.😂
Finally someone is talking about it😭

Also European food doesn’t have the preservatives like we have in the U.S., their food tastes so much better than American food. You can actually taste the lack of preservatives or you can taste the actual freshness of their bread ,food etc. Europeans have Americans beat on the quality of food.
lol they do put preservatives in the food in europe.
@@watermelon520b Yes I’m sure they do use preservatives, but just not as much as here in the U.S., in my opinion you can taste the difference, especially with their breads.
Airplane food says it all..when your leaving united states is a ham sandwhich but when you touch land in another country or on your way back the food is much better..
That's not true at all mate lmao
Well, if you buy all your food boxed and packaged in a grocery store then....of course.
I really wanna move to Germany. I'm learning German right now and I'm hoping to go there if and when I graduate college
hey I'm learning too.i hope you get there soon❤
Oh, du lernst deutsch?
Kleiner Tipp:
@TheGovernor2003 Because the US want Europe as collateral damage in case of war!
Tbh if I was to move anywhere not in the US I’d move to Germany. My heritage came from there and it just looks so lovely. German guys are also quite cute haha 😅😇

The best beer comes from Germany, because the best hop cones are harvestet here.
I couldnt agree more about the bread. That central location really helped when the time came to invade the neighbors.
German bread is insanely delicious
My favorite is Pumpernickel. So delicious! 💜
Seriously what Americans call bread ain't bread. It's a cake with no flavor.
We have more than just white sandwich bread lol. Just look for a different type

i usually only buy toast bread. its shelf life is way longer than "normal" bread, so i dont have to worry abt eating only bread for 2 days
@@tatumergo3931 toast bread good. longer shelf life
@@Verbose-ir7sfno we don't, unless you want to pay a small fortune for something which still tastes worse than the bread you get in other countries
As far as I know, the only U.S. institution that gives 30 days of paid vacation annually is the military. And any days you don't use by year's end, you can sell back and they add it to your paycheck.
I've been in Berlin for a little over a week and I'm leaving in a few days, but I really dont want to 😅 love it here and will definitely come back
I've got the same thoughts. Been there for a quick getaway and immediately loved the city
I'm a Greek immigrant in Germany and I have to say after five years, that Germany delivered on everything that it promised. Great country, I'm lucky to be part of it and I will apply for citizenship soon.
Good for you, but why do you need to apply for citizenship? Isn’t Greece part of the eu, you don’t need a visa to work or study there right?

I might be moving to Germany. As someone who is half Dutch, half American and American raised, im terrified. I have to leave my mom to go and I have never been so sure of something in my life. Though it is scary, I am absolutely willing to make that sacrifice, and who knows? I might stay in America after all. But I know that going to Germany feels right.
99 Luftballons! Ganz toll! Ich bin ein Amerikaner, aber ich liebe Deutschland. Wahrscheinlich, ich werde in America bleiben, aber wenn ich muss Umziehen, ich möchte nach Deutschland gehen!
Why would you buy “American” style bread when living in Germany?!? The local bakeries make and sell bread that is so much better.
They last long, I buy them as backup when I run out of normal bread but can't buy a new one (Sunday or after an exhausting day)
It’s wild that the US doesn’t have good vacation or healthcare. Like, what do you do with your lives?
...watch Jackass.....and you have the answer!-Red Bull events are modern version!
I loooooooove Schusterjunge when I’m in Berlin. It’s so simple. But perfect

I’m an American and I use an electric kettle, which I love!!! I really wish I could have 30 days a year to travel!!!

@@garyrobinson5655So you wanna move to the continent that Capitalism was first thought up? Lol makes sense.
How many days off do you have in the US a year? And it's almost never payed days off, right?
For a 30 days trip U only need 20 days from 30. Because we count 5 holidays for a week.
With 30 days U can travel 6 weeks.
toast bread, also known as zero energy bread(!)
Never heard that term
Try the trains in the future for short distance traveling. Especially night trains with sleeping cabins are awesome. We need to make that a thing and finally make these short flights expensive again
With that many cancelations?
And Lack of punctuality ?

I love that in Europe you can travel to other countries easily
🤔 ummm same in Asia n Africa 😂😂😂 Europe countries are very different but the same if that makes sense, before nationalism n countries in Europe there was the Greeks, the Romans, the Germanic tribes, vikings, Celtics, Slavics, etc but if u go before then were more related then they think, nationalism seperated US n hate among us is deep....

How do you communicate with the locals? Do you speak German? 🤔
Here currently, many speak English in the major cities.

Is 30 day vacation surprising to you people?
How about 30 days vacation, 4 months fully paid maternity leave and up to 2 years reduced payment of maternity leave, and if you’re self employed you get maternity allowance in line with your salary in Austria🇦🇹?
Austrian employers also pay 14 salaries a year by law. 2 extra for Christmas and for the Summer so that people can go on a long summer break and buy plenty of presents on Christmas.
P.S. your employer is not allowed to contact you during your vacation or days off. That’s borderline unacceptable.
Wow, dreamy!
Mostly. Although I have to admit there are quite a lot of employees who don't respect the rights of employees, either illegally or using the "loopholes", but most do respect the rights.
Just don't come as a software developer to France😅
@@RR-lj3ip oh man, software development is another ball game hey. I know Austrians who complain about how much they work and when they mention how much they work I think ‘That’s illegal isn’t it? 🤔’ it seems as though in that sector they kinda play in the dark grey area. Gosh, even the doctors who work hard in Austria take vacation because they don’t want to break the law. My doctor is a workaholic and she was gone for weeks and when she came back she said that she was almost over on her work hours and had to take a mandatory vacation.
Definetely my country in Europe ❤ I should have double nationality: German/Spanish
God I’ve wanted to move to Germany for the longest time it’s where my great grandparents were from. Always wanted to see where they grew up and the history.

How did you manage to move there? Two of my family members moved from germany to the US for three years and went back. They said it was too much 😅
The fact that Americans don’t get paid holiday is hilariously a joke. Talk about capitalism on steroids!!!!
The work weeks are also shorter. Normally 36-38 hours
Lol love the apron 😂
Their Toast Brot is worse than our regular bread. It’s thick Wonder bread without the preservatives , but drier and even more tasteless.
I can't understand why most Americans hardly drink tea or use electric (or any) kettles to boil water.
