    Great video! I ended up going with Berlin as my starting garage.

    Profits are already maximized by default in the game..You're getting around 60k-80k Euros for a 2000km delivery on Level 22..This is nowhere close to real life :D Nobody pays 40 euros/km for a normal delivery..Realisticly it is somewhere between 1-5 euros/km if you drive with your own truck and your own trailer..

      @tom201090 Před 2 měsíci +5

      Thing is, if that was what you were getting per mile per load in-game then it would take a lot longer to buy and fully start the game.

      @@tom201090 Well,that's the purpose..You become a millionaire after just 50k-100k kms of driving and you have achieved everything..Money is falling from the sky...Only with 4-5 working trucks you can easily buy a new truck every 2-3 days..This is not satisfying since saving for a new truck IRL can take years before you can afford a new truck..Also there is no maintenance on the trucks..You just refuel,drive and earn money...No oil changes,no brake wear,no nothing..You can literally drive your truck like a menace and you will get the same wear on your vehicle like if you drove efficiently and by the book..Also you don't pay yearly taxes,insurance,technical inspection or anything..This game is faaaaaaaaaar away from finished..Sadly all that SCS think about is money and making new DLC's so they can make more profit..They don't care about making the game more realistic,they care about money :D For example in Microsoft Flight Simulator,you're supposed to warm up the engines on the plane before takeoff and let them cool down before shutdown after a flight..If you don't do that it causes more wear to the engines..If you use harsh braking after landing it also causes more wear on all components of the plane..On some planes you must perform maintenance on certain components after some flight hours and you can see how worn are they..I hope SCS focus more on this aspect of the game..Their "new" "Realistic Damage & Improved Repair System" is complete garbage..I bought a used truck,it had 25-30% of damage on the Engine and 20-25% on the chassis..I fixed the Engine with the money i had and it was on 0% but the Engine would still shut down while driving because of the Chassis damage,despite the fact that the Engine itself is at 0% damage :D :D :D And Chassis damage can't make your Engine shut down IRL :D

      @@martinnikolov2363 What you don't seem to take into account is that SCS aren't just making a game for one set of gamers, in your example getting every single aspect of being a truck driver 100% from Taxes/Insurance (which can vary country by country) to Oil changes. They need to find a compromise between, amongst others, players who want it to be 100% like driving a truck in real life, those who like the business element, those who like to get from A to B as quickly as possible...while at the same time paying attention to background details (e.g. foliage, AI traffic) and ensuring you don't need to have a high spec gaming computer to play the game. Along, of course, with introducing new content. And they have done (especially in recent years) a good job - there are a number of options in the settings which help towards this. Also businesses need to make money and, compared to some other games, the price of the base game and additional maps are reasonable. No Simulator is ever going to match real life 100% (lets exclude Simulators used to train pilots and train drivers etc for now). However - considering ETS2 has been around for a while, is still will played and still attracting more players I am pretty sure SCS are doing something right...and probably have a better idea than you (or me). Are there additional things I would like - yes. Do I accept that I will need to wait or that they may not come at all - yes. Do I rant and rave and get mad about it - no.

      I'm currently on Level 51 or so and I remember one time I drove a job with my own truck and trailer, it earned me 510k € or so and well above 150€/km

      @@martinnikolov2363 What would you have the devs do? Make it even a little more realistic? I'm already sick of long drives and I'm not even level 15. I haven't done any significant calculations but it seems like the distance and time scales 18 (or so):1. Spending a couple hours irl to drive 2000km gets old real fast. It's about appealing to as many people as possible, not to the occasional nerd who wants the realism of driving (which a lot of people hate) for several months in real life time to buy a digital truck worth $0 in real life. Anyone with half a brain knows this isn't scaled to real life so your OP is pointless.

    This is a good video. I knew all this already. I have all the garages and drivers on the map and something like €750,000,000 and growing left over. But for a beginner this is good stuff. The point about the game really being to have fun is a great way to look at it.

    Actually, I recently started a new profile. I got bored at Level 102 as there's not much to play for except a few outstanding achievements. And when you first start out you do have the fun of getting new levels and skills fairly quickly. And it's when you first start out that these tips and tricks matter most. Nearly Level 10 after 12 hours play and started paying back the loans.

    • Use Content Browser, Company Browser to determine the companies (and cargo type) in that town/city.
    • Large garage required for in-house refill station.
    • An alternative method of fast travel is Quick Travel. This will teleport the truck to a service station. Note: only works when not in a job, the town/city was already visited, and it has a service station. For cities/towns without a service station, but has a garage, the tip in the video applies.
    • Edge garages can be exploited by employees with maxed Long Distance skill.
    • Some rest stops (especially hotels in cities/towns that aren't reworked yet) can only fit a truck without a trailer. Garages can fit an entire truck. Note: extended low beds and low loaders may need reversing, as they won't fit at the back entrance.

    • @David_Crayford
      @David_Crayford Před měsícem +1

      You can uncouple the trailer somewhere safe, then park your truck at a hotel. Then reattach and continue. Where possible I like to be on a ferry when sleeping so I keep moving.

    I have to disagree with best starting garage. Amsterdam is the best as you can get htc doubles from there up to Helsinki and so maximising your money per run early in the game. But once you have about 10 workers and a couple of trucks for yourself the money will grow rapidly.

    I'm watching this when I have over 280M and own every possible garage.
    I would say it doesn't matter how many companies there is in your city.
    The most important thing to make money in this game is to drive safely. A lot of players drive too fast and high percentage of their income must be used for repairs.

    It really doesn't matter which garage you choose, it's way too easy to earn money in the game, unless you really suck at both driving and spending management
