👍 Video
I only tolerate 4x2 chassis in ETS2, & ATS!
The best in ETS2 is 6x2/4 midlift. When it's lifted, it turns into 4x2 actually. When it not lifted, it turns as powerful as 6x4 but with extra 2 steering wheels. This means that 6x2/4 actually wins 2 sets of 18 scores that is 36 scores.
I really like the 6x2/2 Taglift, it's so well-balanced and it looks nice at the same time! :)
That said, there is no better one and no worse one. There is what you need for what you need to do. Right?
Yes, you decide what is best for you as per your desires and requirements
i kinda use either 6x4 for heavy cargo ( or at least 20 tones and a high speed route ) or 4x2 for most trucks ( simply because I like the look of a truck with 4x2 chassis more than any other chassis)
I think you missed the biggest advantage of 4x2 trucks in the video. Which is only true for ETS2. Since there is more room for fuel. The fuel capacity is also higher.
Absolutely true. DAF 2021 with 4X2 has a huge Fuel tank. Couple it with DAF 2021's insane efficiency and you have a truck that can literally haul 3k kms on a single fuel load.
Xf105 also gets a massive tank as well with the extra tank option. Scania S does well though with the 6x4 and 8x4 being 264 gallons.
Very impressive job to collect all that data, well done AP! I have one more factor why I stick with 4x2 in ETS2: Fuel capacity.
Thank you so much 😄
6 X 4 and onwards, Will remain to be my best chassis, in the virtual world and in real life, that is prime mover I can respect!
Awesome video AP, thanks! These technical videos help a lot!
Glad to hear it!
Extremely helpful! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Only this channel can bring a detailed and good content about ETS and ATS like this one. Awesome! I’m always stick with 6x4(long), it’s the most common and popular at my region. Thank to SCS trying to add all variants possible in latest releases. However i know and respect the 4x2 chassis, it all start with those, specially in Europe.
Thank you so much for the comment! Much appreciated
Awsome video 😀👍
Thanks a lot for the info really hope you become a bigger creator🎉
As a amateur ets player this was clear and detailed video just what i needed. Thanks i appreciate ya
I honestly thought the chassis variants were mainly cosmetic ill have to redo the upgrade and see what works best for me appreciate the explanation on all of it
A small thing to note:
4x2 in ETS2 tend to have vastly greater fuel capacity with just few exceptions - I think in case of one of the DAF trucks you have to take elongated version of 4x2 for a massive fuel tank.
On most other suspension types, fuel is fairly limited - this is not the problem in American trucks, however due to generally longer wheelbases allowing them to carry bigger tanks. The exception here would be the "long" variants of these suspensions on Scania trucks, these retain 1000litre tanks - while on most other trucks, you see tanks of 400-800.
Another thing - 6x2 - taglift does not reduce truck's agility that much, unless rear wheel is lowered - it is basically like 4x2 in that regard.
One thing regarding immersion - the most common trucks in Europe are generally 4x2, with more 6x2 in UK.
6 wheel base also is a default in the US.
I'm not counting the legal limitations for weight, which game does not reflect.
Well done, I always like how you make a spreadsheet at the end so you can compare it easier later. My favourite is 6-2/2 taglift, it's a good all around, just a shame that it isn't in ATS
Thank you 😁 😁
This is super helpful! I was just randomly buying things because they sounded interesting.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, congratulations.
Thank you very much!
1 ot the best ETS2/ATS channel around. Thanx for all info.
Wish u 100k subs soon!
Thank you too!
Nice
Nice one 👍 I never knew that’s what those numbers meant. Every day is a school day
Glad I could explain 😁
Very good video. Everybody ets/ats player should see this video.
Thank you so much
Cool
Nice!
I always used to use the most expensive chassis to get the most hp 😭
😂 😂
I would’ve liked testing data on this stuff. How do you quantify maneuverability and what does it mean that a truck is a 3/5 vs. 4/5. These ratings don’t appeae to be backed by any testing at all.
I always use 4x2 just because have BIGGEST fuel tank and looks so cool specially with side skirt.
The real issue in regards to ets 2 is to know that you should look up fuel tank sizes on 6x2/6x4 chassis BEFORE you choose a truck. As on a lot of brands the tank is more or less cut in half or even worse (with some having extra tank options at 4x2).
for example. man tgx ~850 stock at 4x2 with an upgrade tank option to 1160 or so. On all 6xX variants it´s down to 400, without an additional tank option. On 8x4 it gets back up to 960.
While volvo for example has a 800 litre fuel tank on the 6xX. And scania 700 or even 1000 with the newer versions on the long chassis.
Now 400litre might sound a lot, surely does in car terms, but with a fuel consumption of somewhere around 35-40 litre (depending on road/load/stop n go thx to hated toll roads) you look for a range of ~400+ kilometres on a single fuel tank. And when you are someone like me that likes to take on long contracts that are like 3000+ kilometres... then yeah you have to stop quite often to refuel which is annoying.
Also and probably thankfully so, there is no weight limitation in ets2 to loads in regards to truck chassis. In a lot of eu countries its sort of 4x2 = 18 tons, 6xX = 26 tons (MAN even addet that into their type numbering 18.480 = 4x2 with 480 hp). Yet in ets 2 you can haul 44 tons of carge on a 4x2 and the only issue you will face is that you may struggle to get up to speed up hill/on rough terrain, that the weight will pull you like nuts if you dare to brake as 4 wheels don´t have the stopping power and that the trailer wants to flip you over any time you dare to turn at highway speeds.
6x4 trucks maybe are the best in nothing but decent on everything.
Will love to have tandem trucks in ETS2 and ATS
Tldr: more wheels≠better, there is one for everything you do, but for HEAVY HEAVY loads its probably better, power too matters
I wonder if u can do a updated version of this. I feel like 6 wheels are way superior to 4 wheels after the TCS and ABS update. Especially while braking.
Thanks for the explanation. Had a question about the 6x2/4. In the description, you don't mention the 1st set of rear wheels are liftable - but in the gameplay you do lift them (3:44)? How does this make it different from the 6x2/4 Midlift?
i always drive 4x2 in ETS2 😀 because it's the only one that i see in germany in real life. I live in germany
Nice
Almost everything in real world in Italy is 4x2, at least in the urban district.
My favorite is 4x2 and 6x4
6x4 is my preferred. Use to have the only 8x4 in the fleet (now sold) but it is less suited for lighter loads. Manoeuvrability isn't as good.
I honestly just want a tandem axle lift like on the SISU made 30 years ago, an also offered by VOLVO and Scania.
Pro tip: Next time you compare something, just leave out the total score, especially if all the scores sum up to the same number and just leave the rest of the data as a statistical data sheet for everybody to analyze and take away from what ever they want. The total score in this case is nothing but misleading as all systems are good at different things yet according to the total score every system is equal (to those that don't know how to read data and only ever look at totals) so on a flyby the totals become misleading.
Not sure I got my point across so here an example:
Bicycle: Convenience: 5, Speed: 1.
Saturn V rocket: Convenience: 1, Speed: 5.
Bicycle total: 6
Saturn V rocket total: 6.
The vehicles are equal, according to the score. So it doesn't matter which one I get.
However, in reality they do completely different things and couldn't be compared with a final score at all. Leaving out a final score lets the viewer decide which one "scores the highest" according to the purpose and use.
Thanks for your explanations! It was very helpful! I'll now go get the one with the highest score ;P
Hello, if you are going to make long chachis, could you put rigid boxes on top of the chachis, like a rigid delivery truck?
ETS is nearly similar as in real life, im a driver with 770s scania with 4x2 for hauling 20-50 Tonnes and 6x4 config for more than 50 tonnes and both are great
Just want to highlight that we don't see much use in the base game (ets2) for 6x2 because physics is quite more forgiving in terms of stability.
I have a question why do we need to lift the axel or want the axel to be lifted
Nice video. I have a question: What is the criteria for using double wheels? From what I have seen, (almost) only the non-steered drive wheels are double, is this correct? There are exceptions?
Yes, unless you choose wide tyres. (I think they come with a wheels pack DLC). This is probably for ATS only
i would still rather use 4x2 because in real life ive always had 4x2
Which is better in terms of High speed Cornering & Better Acceleration
High speed cornering - the longest chassis, so 8x4 and 8x6
Better acceleration - chassis doesn't matter that much I think
It just make little difference in ETS2 apart from the stability, but good effort :P
There is pretty significant difference in hauling heavy cargo, traction, maneuverability; but thanks :P
Scusa dei telai rigid 6x4 8x8 4x4 tandem?
What music you used
Wonder how did you just let the power axle spins?
There is some kind of barrier in front of the truck, like a pole, fire hydrant 😂😅
@@AP_101 lol 😆😂
American Truck Sim really needs the 8x4/4 midlift option which is more common instead of just the 8x4 and 8x6 options we got that are rare to see, at least from my experience they are a rare sight on US trucks i have seen.
If ATS had the 8x4/4 midlift option, i would use that more often instead of just the 6x4 most of the time.
What is the difference between this configuration 3:38
And this one 4:08 ?
3:38 6x2/4 - First set of rear wheels NOT Liftable
4:08 6x2/4 Midlift - First set of rear wheels Liftable
@@AP_101 ok Thank you
Hi AP matey it's mark from England 👍 i really love the CZcams video you have done on ETS2 and AST on all of the truck chassis, I've mostly got Scania next gen S trucks taglift chassis trucks and two MAN euro 6 TGX midlift chassis trucks and one 2023 MAN TGX GX 4x2 truck very nice trucks I've got by the way on ETS2 with my own trailers and all painted with truck and trailer skins marker lights painted bullbars chrome exhaust stack's on the Scania's next gen S trucks. But is SCS are they going to chrome exhaust stack's for all MAN trucks please because there is probably plenty of people who are waiting for chrome exhaust stack's for all MAN trucks and i cannot find any on the steam workshop can you please help me were i can get chrome exhaust stack's for all MAN trucks please or please let me know who does the chrome exhaust stack's for all MAN trucks on the steam workshop please with the person name please because i cannot find them anywhere on steam workshop at all thanks 👍👍👍 oh and by the way i really enjoyed watching your CZcams video on all of truck chassis think I'll get more midlift chassis trucks. Thanks from mark from England 👍👍👍 thanks AP very much appreciated 👍👍
Hi, thank you so much! I would also love to have the chrome exhausts, I don't know a mod for it sadly. I wish that SCS will make MAN Tuning pack DLC that includes it. Thanks again
Don't forget that in Scania, the term 6x2*2 or 6x2*4 (both either taglift or not) is used instead of 6x2-2 or 6x2-4 to represent the exact same mentioned configuration. The terms 6x2-2 and 6x2-4 are used by MAN.
Asterisk (*) is not used in ETS2 in any truck. But yes, asterisk * is same as hyphen -
I left a comment for the CZcams algorithme.
Thank you so much! 😂
@@AP_101 ^^
@@Endermania ^^
For me ;
- If I drive for longest distance, I use 4x2 (example, Scania Streamline 1400 L and DAF XG)
- If I drive for heavy hauls, I use the 6x4 (if I haul the Special Transport, it will be 8x4)
nice vid, but TMP noobs and kids will always use the 8x4 chassis 😂
1:17 of course your in an international lol!
🤣 🤣 🤣
hey A. P.101 Gaming !
what happend is 10x6/4 + 10x4/6 + 10x8/2 ?

6x6 L?? Score?
There is no 6x6 in game
1:28 oh hell no. Taglift has the best turning circle.
no... Taglift when lifted is literally same as 4x2...
@@TaronTT no, little bit shorter 👌
@@Riskw-mk1lothat'd only be the case in the distance between the 1st and 2nd axle would be smaller compared to a normal 4x2, which isn't the case for any of the trucks in the game
@@TaronTT it is, go play the game and see for yourself.
The fact the same fuel tanks fit in between says enough. No need to double check anything 🤣
