- One person has been been killed by a falling tree as Storm Eunice brought damage, disruption and potentially record-breaking gusts of wind to the UK.
Millions of people have been urged to stay at home for the day due to safety fears over the impact of Eunice, one of the worst storms to hit the UK in a generation.

It's so weird seeing people so relaxed and out and about during a storm like this, where I am from which is hit by multiple storms every year, everything will be closed for the day and people do not dare go out, because it's guaranteed something will hit you with something flying somewhere.
The winds will pass in no time, it's not much of a storm (where I am, anyway).

This was all during a working week and people are still expected to get to work etc. Unless the Gov/employer says it's too dangerous to go to work, people will just carry on.

Had a near miss today my lorry was hit by a huge gust on the M56 and knocked me out of lane .Collected it up luckily. Headed back an hour later and exactly the same spot an artic was on its side.Hope the driver is ok.

@@MortthemooseUltimately it’s down to the driver I guess and I did pull over for an hour on a rest area after seeing the accident on my return trip. There was no break in the weather so it was a case of 40 mph and hoping for the best. In 9 years of driving lorries it was by far the worst day for me and I was so glad to get home .

Ok im from from South Africa moved to England this wind is not bad, When I lived their the storms were so bad it turned from day to night with extreme heavy wild gusts that knock u on ur ass and we still got those strong winds even when there wasn't storms it was normal for us the only thing that makes this wind bad is the cold that comes with it
Actually even in normal days this area is so windy 🌬 very windy! I pass there every week and it’s really bad.
I know the wind is strong but the guy waring a green worker jacket was like running into the road with no protection from it, not everyone is faling violently just stay near buildings and never get in the road ,if the wind is pushing you then call for help or don't go out at all.
