- Wind speeds have hit highs of 104mph in Jersey, after Storm Ciaran made landfall in the UK and Channel Islands.
Sky's Ashna Hurynag reports live from St.Helier in Jersey and says she has "never felt wind speeds like this" seconds before she is blown over by the gusts.

its not just a Lav inside her coat? thats why she's unzipped a tiny bit. right? I did some intern stuff at a news place, mic'ing the reporters. If its windy they dont use a handheld and just get a lavalier instead. the coat is the wind muffler, essentially.

True this one had the potential which didn’t materialise to be very bad though as it’s impossible to predict if a weather bomb event would happen or not. That’s how everyone got caught out in 1987 and this storm had similar characteristics yesterday.

Just spoke to someone on the south coast. A scene of utter devastation ? - nope. He said, nah, its a bit windy.
Declaring a RED risk, danger to life and yet reporters contradict the warning to stay at home and stand in some of the worse places possible endangering themselves and potentially any of the emetgency services if they have to go to their aid. Sure the reporters can tell the public how bad it is from a studio rather than putting themselves at risk.
To true, I'm sure that's what they will do, of it gets that bad. Untill then, they will just pretend😂😂
