My lovely four legged friend of 13 of her 15 years, went to sleep today. Even though it broke my heart, I knew it was her time. But being the selfish human that I am, I asked for a sign. This is the song that was playing on Radio 1 today as I drove to pick up my daughter. Not a station I listen to, and would normally have tuned out. Thanks for the sign. xxx

My friend put "I'll be bold as well as strong and use my head alongside my heart" On a drawing/letter he gave me in the mental hospital thing and I sob every time I see the drawing or hear this song. I hope he's alive. He is the greatest friend ever and he deserves the world. I hope he'll see this I miss him so much and I kept every drawing he gave me they're so important to me. I hope someday I'll get to see him again. I miss you!

Oh my goodness...this band is just so amazing...song after song after song after song after song...they just hit you right where you live...lyrics, music, emotion, rhythmn...why don't they have more albums out with songs like this on it...I only have Sigh No More...what other albums do they have out that I need to get my longing ears on??? I absolutely love these guys! I can put their CD on and not skip one song, I love every one of them! I even want see them live, and I never go to concerts.

Nothing Is Written was on “The Cave” EP in 2010. Last year, in Canada, they re-wrote the lyrics a bit and added the “I will wait” part into it.
His/her stories were always the best.
So this stupid spartacus ad at the start has a twitter post in the BG and when you click it ( like I did by mistake ) it takes you to facebook. Great logic. But anyway once I finally got passed that 30 second must-watch non-skippable ad I finally got to listen to this amazing tune. Mumford and Sons I'm hoping will never change.

I don't believe that this is about marriage, but spirituality. However, the wonderful thing about music is it can be subjective, so can mean many things to different individuals'. Regardless, beautiful song, love them and their ingenious music!
Some of those songs are b-sides, some are just unreleased songs they did at concerts of other performances. The new album is in the making, I believe it is nearly done, but I don't know when they will release it! ;) They also made some songs under the name 'The Wedding Band', I recommend checking those out as well! :)

@jupiterkid100 This is the first time I have heard this song, but it is clear to me... It is about turning your life over to Jesus Christ, and your journey through life as He molds you as the potter does the clay... :) Praise and glory to Him...
@Grafeaux sigh no more is their debut album and to date their only album. They have been recently touring alot and have written loads of songs on the road so a new album should be out soon hopefully! absolutely love this band, as you said their lyrics, emotion and music are just beatiful! glad others share the love.

Alright, I'm way late on this, but I have to know... when and where was this version recorded? It's like a whole different song, but no less amazing.
I don't know the exact date.. but their voices sound younger tbh.. in general it was definitely way before they brung out "I will wait".. there are some more studio record from the pre written songs that they've optimized
Some where between Sigh no more and Babel...Marcus said he thought it was crazy how many people bought the album because you could basically peice it together on youtube.

I think what they've done to this song in terms of the new album is amazing. The changes gave strength to an already powerful song.

@Lil106692 hopefully i can explain this. haha. with anything mumford it is quite beautiful. i think the best way to do so is to start with the overall structure of the song. i think this song is explaining different stages in life, and the chorus is separating the stages he is trying to express. and after every stage he is taken back to prayer "and i'll kneel down.." i think the stages this 1. being embraced by the arms of a Savior who rescued him from heavy burdens "chorus"

The Lumineers have been around since '05, M&S only since '07, but The Lumineers only released their first album back in 2012, M&S released their debut in '09.

@Grafeaux These guys have changed my life..they're so much more than just songs. Yes, I'm so proud for flying half way around the world to see them live. I WOULD HAVE NEVER DONE THAT FOR ANOTHER BAND. Another album of their's called ' LOVE YOUR GROUND ' came out even before sigh no more ..so u can go get it :) Hold on to what you believe and sister..etc are on that album :)

They played this song in Toronto Oct 23. the ending was WAYYYYYYY better! look it up. slow build entire song till the end. the climax marcus belts out " I will wait, I will wait for you!" its FUCKING EPIC!!!!!!!! they need to make the song exactly as toronto's performance
I think that if that's the case, it would be the other way around :) As far as I know existed Mumford and Sons before the Lumineers started

@Lil106692 "I'll kneel down and wait" and "you forgave and I wont forget" could be a reference to the acknowledgement of God and that they will serve him. They've made other references about kneeling before the King in other songs

I like that it has the faster, driving part that a lot of the "Sigh No More" songs had, if anyone gets what I'm talking about. I love their new stuff, but it doesn't seem like a lot of it is like the driving fell that makes you want to dance or jump or sing or generally make a nuisance of yourself. Don't get me wrong, I think the lower intensity songs are still very powerful.

They've changed the chorus, but this is now "I Will Wait" and is going to be on their new album :)

As far as I know, "Nothing is Written" is "Untitled"...just with a title. "I Will Wait" is a new version of Nothing is Written. 2 songs, 3 names.
