I really like your channel, you guys look like you have a lot of fun. I am 59 now, but when I was in my 20's I had a rail buggy I built out of a rail frame kit and bought an old VW for the engine and front steering and it was a blast. So recently I bought an older HammerHead go-kart that only had about twenty hours run time on it, but had sat for 5 years. I wanted something for a little fun and for my grandkids. I only paid $100.00 for it and thought I would make it my summer project. All the steering seals and tires are dry rotted and back axle is frozen, but I will take it apart and clean everything well and replace what needs replacing. Watching your channel is what got me excited, so thank you. Stay safe and keep having fun.
Lovin this build RB! Always excited to see your work.
That thing is sick, man when those upgrades go on God help you. Total blast man
Loving these video's lately, keep it up!
I've seen you on CZcams a couple times and never knew you loved so close to me I'm down in spring city been hunting places to ride and play
My 670 mud motor suffers from the governor issue you experienced----many thanks for showing me how to fix it----keep up the great videos.
Im going to do a governor removal video very soon with upgraded valve springs
Hey Greg, My son & I installed that manual clutch yesterday, all thats left to complete the job is routing and connecting the cable. We had to torch 1/2 half of a 1" round tube away to allow enough room for clearance for the chain. Other than that, after watching YOUR insulation video of the clutch, it was a smooth install. We ent to the site for the clutch and it was down for, I guess maintenance , but I told my son " I would rather follow RBG'S install instructions anyway .
Anyway a huge ATTA BOY & Thumbs up to Greg & RBG'S channel for the go kart hobbyists needs.
Thanks man im glad it could be of help. Let me know what you think of it after riding.
That thing moves out for sure! Very cool
On the governing arm there are different spots to connect the bigger spring on the governing arm and the farther back you put it the more the governor holds out , you can do this on a stock 212 and make it go to 5000 rpm stock
Cole Estes I was thinkin the same thing
Have been waiting finally!!! Thanks for your work
that things got some "get up and go"
Another awesome vid! Thanks for the content! She rips!
looks good man great work rbg
Amazing how karts can make us grown men smile so big!
When riding i have to remind myself to stop smiling so much to keep the dirt/bugs out of my mouth ;)
Keep it up brother!
Ajaxaxxess Go carts are like fat chicks..... they're fun to ride till your friends see you on them😀
love the video! can't wait to see what's next!
These karts look like a really nice rig to start off with. You can always upgrade it as you learn to work on small engines.
short and sweet video.
can't wait to see front end fix
Awesome!!! Looks like my 212 Barf dogs looking at surgery! Really enjoy all of your hard work!
it's a total beast. love all the work you do.
Thanks man. It is mean. I haven't even showed how mean it really is yet
@@RedBeardsGarage it will barely spin a tire
Total BEAST! Inspired me to make one now! That suspension definitely helps.
+Offroad MudMowers do it man
Great work as always! Finally get to see it run. Can't wait to see the steering fix. My carter is the same way. Keep up the vids!

I'm just getting into small engine stuff this summer. you have really taught me a lot. before i had the minibikes that i do, i didn't even know what piston rings were. with a lot of dedication and a slew of red beard videos I'm now looking for the right engine to put a big bore kit on to fit my minibike. looking at 200cc honda 4 speeds but its difficult with a 1970s frame. I've learned everything from gear ratios to the difference between a tav and a transmission (started researching how they work too). a lot of it has to do with you. I still consider myself an amateur, but this comment was just to thank you for putting what you know out there.
+William Glady well man we wouldn't be nothing with out our followers. Thanks for the support
my husband & I loved this video of the NEW 670cc Predator engine. We just recently acquired a MINI MONSTER TRUCK GO KART w/212cc Predator engine & it's speed is ok, but I think we're gonna try your CHANGING THE SPRING for the governor to see if we can get it to go a lil faster. The 670cc engine is BAD TO THE BONE & not a bad price either. Thanks for sharing
+Angel Hiles thanks for watching
I subcribed love you videos and how you dont cuss because i show these videos to my parents keep up the good work 😀
Thanks for noticing man
Wtf is ur name Jesus
Agreed. Enjoying the vids without inane cursing.
Are your parents 10?
can't wait to see it with a few more mods .. that is always disappointing to see how low the rpms are out of the box. but awesome video red beard. u keep uploading and I'll keep tuning in My friend!
congratulations . your channel is growing supper fast .
Dagum she rips man, I love the torque its got. Looking good!
Thanks man.
I looks like the whole frame is bending due to the style of rear suspension you use. It looks like a lot of fun. excellent job.
I like the throaty sound it gives off even over the camera i wish I had that go kart

Can't wait to hear this thing with an exhaust on it
that thing is a beast love all your vids RBG this channle is defintly worth 1,000,000 subs keep up the good work.
I appreciate that man
Red Beard's Garage you are cool as hell and you build sweet stuff bad ass go carts and bikes you should go in business doing this I bet you can give the side by sides a good run for there money with the stuff you build reminds me of what we do we make mini rail buggy's out of riding lawn mowers swap out the front pulleys and make them twice as fast put itp quad tires on the back and the big balloon nobby tiers that come with the manco dingo buggy's on the back and climb up anything we point them at I want. this go cart make me a deal I won't have to get a quad with one of these
I always watch your vids everytime my notifications come up, keep up the great work RBG!
Yo red beard you need to put zip ties on the governor spring but put slack in it so it will flex a little
Also with this engine and the 40 series it liked to be driven like a manual shift on the gas for a sec and reving again should give u the drive u lokking for
And take the toop off the air box unless your going mudding then leave it on but with out it u get good sir fliw no need to jet this thing trust me maybe a need carb setup will help please keep i n i post on your proformance parts so i can upgrade with u
What are the two hoses for that are connected to air filter housing and the second is connected to the top of the carb? What or where do they connect to?
Thanks for doing what you do. I like watching your post.
Well man thanks for supporting the channel
Cool man I used one as a mud motor engine for my boat. Lots of great info for mods
can't wait to see more.
I'm always watching and supporting love the videos
I appreciate it man.
Another cool Vid. It looks like you have the torque to run bigger tires.
Excellent job!!!!diggin it!!!
Nice build! I want to learn more about Gocarts. I have a hammerhead 250ss. I just put all new calipers and pads on it. How do you bleed go cart brakes?
love the build man. can't wait to get my kohler built, and see what your gonna do with your kohler. and do you think it's definitely gonna need governor modification?
it's definitely a beast pressure washing machine but I wanted to do the same but member the 670 needs 3prong spark in baller asf exhaust but love it red beard
Hi Red Beard, my name is Ben and i live on the east coast of Australia in N.S.W an hour north of Sydney. i just wanted to say thankyou for your great video on this Go Kart build im really enjoying it. i feel your frustration with the governor problem i too hate anything (Standard)!!!! so its a passion of mine to tweak all things that cross my path. I've only just recently discovered you but im glad i have!, because i too have a Go Kart, a Drifter kart, and need ideas how to get the most out of her. keep up the fantastic work brother and im really excited to watch all of your videos. i love your workshop too mate. 🤠👍give my best to Mrs red beard and your kids too. take care mate.
Thanks for watching man. It always awesome to see new people from around the world
Red Beard's Garage how fast is it going max????
Just a quick question, I'm thinking about purchasing the 212cc predator engine. How do you think itd perform on a 2 seater go kart?
Its kind of disappointing how crappy the 670 is in stock form, glad to see you are modding yours!
Looking forward to seeing more updates on this build
I will be making a video on it soon
Cool build. I'm curious to see how the 670 holds up to being modded.
Great videos man! just discovered your channel...we need moe pure mechanics like yourself on youtube brother
+River City thanks man. I appreciate your support. Lots more to come.
Awesome build redbeard!!
+dodgeman8934 thanks man
Red Beard's Garage no problem man. Its cool seeing things people build instead of always buy. I love the ingenuity!
Finally LOL been waiting to see it in action seems like a lot of people with the 670 have to tweak them a little bit to get their full potential
I took the governor off mine bored .30 over and nos but it's not like my kawasaki 500 kart
Nice build kart looks like mad fun!
Nice A-10 ejection handle!
You do good work like it all I have the same car I put a 460 bb from vegas carts with a 500 comet and a 11 tooth primary sprocket that thing is a beast.i named it infected it a real thrill to drive.
I'm gonna build one of these for my senior welding project. Do you have any ideas or plans for the frame?
looks like you have a handful of a kart there buddy. You have fun, lots of it, you hear me? You deserve it. look forward to see what you do to the steering. take it easy bud.
Jarrad Powell yea my buds
So red beard on your personal opinion what's your thoughts on the preditor 22 horse I have a carter gtr 250 which I'm considering doing basically the same thing ?
How is that 100 lb motor holding up bouncing around back there?? I want to do this swap on my kart bad but not sure I have enough room on a Kandi spyder copy.
red beards garage that sounds so good it rubles like a V8
Flathead garage wtf lol, it rumbles like a v twin.... because it is..
I have a 150 mL GY6 engine now and did a big bore kit to 171 mL can you tell me if you recommend this 670 predator over eight 300 mL GY6
Shoot I've got the same thing happening to me right now my yerf dog is actually getting fixed my chain was so stretched it made the teeth on the sprocket smooth so now it won't even take off with out slipping I don't know what to do with it ?
I like it I hope mine is as nice when it's done
what gearbox do you use? I want a reverse gear on mine, but can only find gearboxes rated for 13hp
Ive done my share of hf generator vids cuz i wana get one but was curious bout the motors. The 212cc is beast at $100. I dont have a kart to hook it to but im glad yall do. Just curious you ever thought or have done making one of these into an offroad buggy?
Can you use the chain driven centrifugal clutch or is the engine to strong for that
I love the 670 cc gokart
Will this engine be good for asafe for a drift trike? Or is it way too much power?
seems like she rides like a cadillac! looking forward to the upgrades bud
Oh it does. Lots to come
I want to build one myself awesome video
Looks great... Maybe just removing the governor and the up grades.. Gone be a TORQUE BEAST..
I have a 35hp vanguard, brand new, but I cant find a clutch system for it.. what did you use???
@4:04 "Mrs Red Beard" lol
WOW you have so much direction now, I remember when you had 2000 subs.
Well we appreciate you sticking around man
Red Beard's Garage badass build
Same man it’s crazy seeing him grow.
Awesome man
will it hill climb or would you be breaking belts?
also
what reverse gear box would you use on this build with this motor.
great build Red.
that was neat to see a not so rare anymore dollar general in its natural habitat
That looks like so much fun
Way better than stock lol - Can't wait to see what you do to fix the steering! I will end up trying whatever you do for the steering on my Yerf Dog 3202 lol
+Nicholas Brown video will be up soon
Hey man nicely done THAT THING RIPS!!!
I'm getting ready to build a street legal reverse trike from scratch. Would you this this motor has the potential to get me up to 65mph with somewhere around 1200-1500lbs of weight total and a cvt trans with rpm governor mods? Or would gearing it be a better choice?
+Noah's Music Showcase I don't know how well this engine would do with that much weight
Looks really good to me man.
I’ve been brainstorming ideas on a pulling tractor build. I’d like to take the transaxle out and do a solid axle with a sprocket but would like to know if that clutch set up is good under stress or not.
liking the 670 blue beast! I think it could use a gearbox with reverse but it's your kart . happy trails rbg!
Got one coming soon for it
Hi red beard i have problem with the 40 series any advice for fix my problem
So im your opinion whats the best motor size for a basic adult size buggy...thats still safe for your teenager but has plenty of power
is good the automatic.. but simply, you can put gearbox?.. with reverse?
How big a fuel tank should you put in to extended the riding time in the mountains ? 3 gal / 5 gals curious thanks
3 would be a lot of riding
I think it’s awesome , looks look a blast !
I love it man
Does it go faster if you take the governor out?
Looks fun
that's 2 grown men in a cart that thing is a beast !!
+Dave K yes it is man. Some good videos coming out soon
Red beard is awesome
carsandcameras vs red beard 670cc
two completely different go karts.
+Red Beard's Garage extend little red and pop the 670 on it. I think it just may put the power down better and eat it. Not that they woild be interested. Which used to bug me. I still enjoy there videos and yours but they and yourself are very different builders.
They need to have a go kart build-off.
fly crazy hacker hell yeah or Murray 420 vs yerf dog 670 hill climb
Red Beard's Garage I asked them to do a 670 on the Murray off road kart they have, but now you've done it with the same cart I have.. so I subscribed to your channel so lets get er going
Have you found any one to machine the pto shaft down on the kohler? And what are going to put it on?
Yeah go power sports is going to do it for me. We are probably putting it on the zircon
thats awesome great job
+GK B thanks man
I have a hammerhead sitting around that I'd love to hop up just new to all of it I can weld too guess I should prob just get to it. Do you do builds for individuals. Look forward to getting started on this project.
What type battery did you use?
Looks like you can put that driver seat back around 2".
Lots of possibilities 😎
I have a serious question. I’m in the process of a Tillotson to 12 stage 4 build. Asking seriously. If I remove the governor. Will I ever have to worry about my engine blowing up?
