You really need to SEE him perform to get the whole Joe Cocker experience. He was a very unique singer, that is for sure. REALLY! PLEASE guys, take the time to watch him perform. I promise you’ve never seen anyone like him before!
You read my mind!
Yes!! I totally agree! Must watch live in concert!
Definitely need to see him , he doesn’t match his voice 🙃
I was thinking the same thing! Heart and soul into his voice!
👍👍👍
You are missing the essence of Joe if you don’t watch him perform live. His Woodstock version of this song is fantastic. Also watch his Saturday Night Live performance where John Belushi stands beside him; imitating him - TV gold!
One of the best SNL episodes... ever!!!
They most definitely need to SEE him sing this at Woodstock! It gives me chills every time! Also loved his cameo in the '08 movie Across the Universe.
You can also catch him on old. Midnight Special tv shows. You gotta see him move. Fabulous.
That with John Belushi was hilarious
Facts!! He WAS the music at Woodstock. He truly became one w it
Watch him doing this at Woodstock!!!
FYI, this is a Beatles song, totally different vibe. Joe made it his own and had a hit with it. ☮️💟
His "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" - is another great of his.
Seriously, watch him sing the song. He gives it EVERYTHING! You’ll appreciate it.😊😊✌🏻✌🏻
His cover of this Beatles song could not be more different!
I ♥️ his version!!!!
Yes his 50 years older Woddstock Version is great
I will forever attach this song to the tv show WONDER YEARS and my generation! Thanks guys for the memories and your open hearts and minds to listen to such different genres of Music!! Love it.
Completely stole my thunder on The Wonder Years. Great show and a great song!!
@@normlieberman372 lol, sorry. The Wonder Years brought mine and my hubby's childhood to life, such a relatable, flashback of memories show. Now I'll have to search for it on my channels and CZcams and Marathon it!
@@RIODJENIRO1 we have it on rerun very often here in Australia. No shows like it anymore sadly.
That is one of the most poignant and moving shows of all time with a masterpiece as a theme song to boot!
Yes!
Seeing him sing is a big part of feeling him sing. He gots so much soul and emotion comin' that he dont know what to do with himself. Like an old gospel singer in church being overwhelmed. Looks like he's tickin' off thorazine or something. But it's awesome.
Joe will definitely take you to church in a slightly different way. I’ve always loved this song. Great video. Definitely doesn’t look like he sounds, does he? Haha. Those stereotypes...love it when they are disproven.
Yea, you must see the video.
So true!
Let's just appreciate that they reacted to it. They can see the song's live video after this studio reaction, off camera.
@@spongebobandplanktonshould2920 sure, you're right, i wasn't complaining only mentioning
You need to see some of the live performance tracks. When John Lennon heard this cover he said this is your song now. He owns it.
Wow. Just wow. What a fine compliment from John Lennon!
"I get by with a little help from my friends, I get high with a little from my friends"... the memories in the song are happy ones.
Fun fact: This is a cover, originally written by the Beatles. But Cockers version is dope.
Joe Cocker did amazing covers. So did Manfred Mann.
First it was awesome, now it's dope....ffs is that the only adjective Americans now use?
Good on you for pointing this out ✌️
@@gtaylor331 fo sho, that comment is da bomb.
Another Fun Fact : Jimmy Page played guitar on this track .
* Derek and the Dominoes - Bell Bottom Blues
* Janis Joplin - Summertime
* Traffic - Feelin' Alright
* Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing
* Blind Faith - Can't Find My Way Home
Joe Cocker is one of a kind! When he sings it, it’s unlike any other version you’ve heard.
If you saw him in 1969 when this originally came out, you would get it. He was a total long hair hippie. And he was from England so you can hear a little bit of that accent. Total classic. 😍
From the Steel City 💞
I remember when Joe came on ANY show we all would rush to see because we had never seen ANYONE else do what he did.
Every time I hear this I always notice how he FEELS every word.
If the video would have been of Joe Cocker "grooving" during the song the twins could have seen that, too. He does go all in there when he sings.
What's funny is he was young when he recorded this, like 25. He always sounded like an old guy. He had the blues in him.
You might consider to watch Joe Cocker as he performs. It’s quite a treat. Very unusual performer. You would love it.
I appreciate that you guys listened to the studio recording (aka, the best version) instead of the live Woodstock vesion, like everyone else.
I want to watch The Wonder Years now.
Omg wonder years was my life when I was an awkward kid 🥰
Every single time this song is heard :-) One of, if not the most iconic opening songs to a show in TV history.
There's going to be a new version on ABC soon
@@javetteyoungblood1833 it’s not going to be the same
@@GenericWhiteBitch1980 It did seem to have some funny moments from the previews I have seen. I don't want the same thing...that's what reruns are for :-)
Twinnies. ..... You have to watch this live at Woodstock when he was a younger man 👌
yes. legendary performance.
Holy SMOKES...I just looked Joe up on Wikipedia, he was only TWENTY FOUR when he blew the lid off this!
This is one of those rare covers that surpasses the original. This song gives me chills EVERY TIME. 🧡
His voice was raspy when he was young. Him singing this live at Woodstock is a must see.
YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL is another must listen of his. Hope you guys had a nice birthday!
Thank you! I was gonna recommend this one as well.
yessss
Yeah, I remembered their birthday too. Hope it was blessed. They deserve all the good they have coming to them.
YASB sung by Beach Boys (former) member Dennis Wilson is awesome.
czcams.com/video/edBANstfJsE/video.html
You must watch him perform live. It’s a full body experience.
Too much soul for one man to hold.
Another great song from 9 and half weeks movie by Joe is YOU CAN LEAVE YOUR HAT ON.
Word!
Oh HELL YES
He was a young man when he sang this. He's always had an old soul. Try to find an old film of him performing it early on. Then watch "Across The Universe" to see him at this age singing it. So similar. He has still got it!
Love Joe Cocker....his voice is so soulful!!! Great Reaction!! He is an ICON and a GOAT!!!
Joe Cocker born & bred in Sheffield/UK just like myself ....... R.I.P Joe
Man you guys should have watched the live at Woodstock where it looks like he’s having some kind of fit. Lol! 😩 He really makes you feel it you know.
@Anji Harrell I had the same thought, watching the live version from Woodstock!
He always was like that.
Agree!
And then watch John Belushi do him on SNL!
@@robinconner9450 absolutely!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I love the rasp in his voice too.
The Great Joe Cocker , did this song 🎵 at Woodstock in August of 1969, it was Awesome , RIP JOE UP THERE IN ROCK AND ROLL HEAVEN 👍 HE LIVED HERE IN COLORADO WHEN HE PASSED , GOOD SONG 🎵 RINGO STARR ALSO DID THIS SONG FROM THE BEATLES
Saw this fabulous artist in concert and I am lucky to be part of the generation they did and so glad that the next generation can appreciate it God bless you guys you make me smile.
Joe Cocker - "Leave your hat on" !!/;)
Can only imagine 20 years from now and you both are telling your kids about the time you had reacting to different genres of music and everyone loved it. Then, they ask you to share what you gained from the experience. Wow!
One of my all time singers !!! When he sings he becomes the song, you have to see him perform!!!
Cocker... What passion. Watch him live... Epilepsy and all. So great. Thanks for hearing him!!!
You guys are such dolls. This is the music of my youth and to see you loving it is a joy.
I so agree! It's wonderful to see them open their hearts and minds to such a variety of music.
He may look funny, but that’s his WHOLE BODY singing!!
Oh yea, when you see how his body moves while singing you feel every note he sings!
Amen to that!
Yes ma'am! I love it! ♥
Perfect description!
The greatest group: The Beatles wrote and performed this. Joe Cocker arranged it differently and added a glorious female chorus and it became maximumly Soulful.......Never has been even touched by anyone.. & it never has been equaled since. Thank you Twins........ 1968 as I recall as my Momma loved it esp. the lyrics
Young brothers, you should see Joe Cocker sing this song live at Woodstock.
Definitely!
The man was a star for 50+ years. Yes, the voice had a few miles on it, but he was a classic all the way.
Absolutely!
Such great memories. Van Morrison "Into the Mystic" is special also.
YES! Such a great song! I 2nd that emotion!
Excellent recommendation... a song near and dear to me. Was my mother's favorite song.
Love that song and Tupelo Honey!
This was released in my birth month, April 1969. The music coming out in late 60's--early 70's was just some of the best that the world has ever seen up to that time and since. So many songs.
This song gives me goosebumps!! Unique singer!
one of those rare occasions where I actually prefer a remake of a song. love this version. Reminds me of the wonder years.
Buffalo Springfield For What it’s Worth 1967 version should be on your list. Words hold true today…
Omg, YES!
@@gianinenichols6532 I love this song & I’m glad to see someone else who loves it too!! 😁
You are So Beautiful by Joe is another amazing song that I've been singing to my daughter since her birth.
I think of my mother (who also loved his music and never stopped smiling at the concert, he was still jumping up and down, and was as energetic as ever,) also when I hear it, she passed suddenly and unexpectedly it will be two years very soon.
R.I.P. Momma, we love and miss you everyday 💞 ✝️
I was an 11 year old grooving to Feeling Alright in 1968.Joe Cocker MUST be seen to get the full effect. Please fellas, WATCH a Joe Cocker performance. You'll be glad you did.🎶💜🦋
Welcome to the world of Joe Cocker! Man had SOUL! Check out his version of She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, another Beatles song!
Omgness yes!!!
I came here to say THIS!!
Yes! Please hear the Beatles version too!!
Speak it Emily! That is such a great cover by Joe!
Voice of a generation. Keep em 'coming boys.
No point of just listening to the late Joe Cocker, you have to see him. Check out film of him at Woodstock. Fabulous.
Joe's "You can leave your hat on" is a fave of mine.
You must watch a CZcams video of Joe singing. He gets into it (to put it mildly). Joe Cocker feels every note 🎶 🎼 🎵
You need to watch a live-performance by Joe Cocker... He was really unique. Not only the voice...Just pick any song...
Good song thank you Joe Cocker! Will try with a little help from my friends! Thanks Tim and Fred. Joan and Keith Bates
His voice SCRAPES YOUR SOUL! But you NEED to see the Woodstock performance
He TRULY embodies the music!!
"Feelin' Alright"... is the Sh!t...!
100%
One of my favorite songs , love to watch him sing he puts everything in it .
I'm so excited for the young folks that have decided to open themselves up to the classics. It will heal your soul...
The best Saturday night EVER!!!!! John Belushi and Joe Crocker 🤩😎❤️😍🤣
I was lucky enough to see him live when he toured with Tina Turner. When this song came on the whole stadium lit up and you got a contact high 😂🤣
WOW!
You have to see him singing this! His performance is so unique.
"You Can Leave Your Hat On" is awesome. Joe Cocker was so unique and great. :You are Do Beautiful " is my favorite. Please play both of these. Also you have to see him to get the whole experience. He sang so hard his whole body seemed to tremble and cripple up. I saw him with Stevie Ray Vaughn. Best comcert ever!
Fun Fact: This is a cover but slowed down version of former Beatle Ringo Starr’s song. Give that a listen as well. Joe did make this song his own. I love this version also.
Check Joe out live. This song was written by the Beatles. They considered Joe's version the best version. He also did their song She Came In Through the Bathroom Window. A good live song to check out would be Joe with Leon Russell from the Mad Dogs & Englishmen tour back in 1970. That tour is when most of us were introduced to Joe Cocker here in the US. You'd also see in the video Leon Russell on piano. Russell inspired Elton John's piano playing. He also wrote a really famous song called A Song for You & another song called This Masquerade that George Benson made famous.
Love that you guys got so deep into this song and truly appreciated it. You guys are effectively bridging gaps between cultures, races, ages , and genders with your enthusiasm and curiosity for all music. Music is without a doubt the greatest equalizer. Love you both and wish you all the best from a 54 year old white woman on these East coast who lives for all music 💗
Ditto 🥰 in n.j.
Please listen to you are so beautiful you will love it RIP Joe
Watch the live Woodstock version, dudes. You will not be disappointed.
Guys, have been loving music since the 70s (born 60s) and for longevity, passion and strong unique voice, hard to find anyone who beats Joe. Seriously, he is THE best to so many people of generations! My friends say, best concerts they ever saw. I think his performance and voice got better right up to the end less than 10 years ago. You Are So Beautiful a must and to see his most recent release "I Come in Peace".
Joe Cocker one of those iconic performers that gave everything to every performance he gave. This for me is one of those rare performers that took someone else's song and made it even better.
His music you can feel inside. Seeing him live is so much better!!!
One of my favorite songs and singers ever! Joe Cocker was of the best! Please find a live performance of him!
Joe Cocker is one of the greats. Try 'She Came in Thru The Bathroom Window'
Absolutely!
Up next.... "Unchain my heart" 😎🙏
Fabulous song!
You need to hear his song "You are so beautiful". Totally amazing!
Live!!! You won't regret it.
Wonder years was literally my whole childhood.
You guys should listen to his song with Jennifer Warnes called Up Where We Belong. BEAUTIFUL song!
Love 💗 that song!
@@mujathepaganprepper7610 Me too!
My High School Senior graduation song 😄.
Love that song. Jennifer Warrens is also great.
It's currently on my Spotify repeat!
Even The Beatles appreciated this cover of one of their songs 🎵 Joe Cocker has soul man! 😽🎶
Such a lovely man, universally loved by all who met/knew him.
Was waiting for their reaction to THAT note at 4:58 - did not disappoint
Same here!!
One of my favorite singers of all time. It sounds like he gargled with steel wool every morning! You will only rarely find another singer who has mastered the growling, raspy scream as well as Joe Cocker.
He is from Sheffield "the city of steel", probably more truth to your claim than you know!
Joe is an amazing entertainer...check out more of his music..
He sings with such passion. You really need to see him perform.
"Feelin' Alright" and "You Can Leave Your Hat On" are my favorites of his!
You should listen to "You Can Leave Your Hat On" by Joe Cocker.
Sexy song!!!
Loved, loved, love that song. Tom Jones did a nice job w/ his rendition, bt nowhere near Joe's version!
It’s Randy Newman’s song, originally
My favorite from Joe! ❤
Classic material.
Joe felt the song with his whole body. That is why you need to See him too! A sight to behold!
Agreed. You have to see Joe straining to sing. So much soul! Highly recommend “Cry Me a River” from Joe.
This song always gives me goosebumps. Such a legend!
When I saw him live in the late 1960s in Detroit, he sang the same way. He is blues and soul through and through.
The song is by the Beatles and originally sung by Ringo Starr. Joe's version is much better.
You HAVE TO SEE HIM SING because he sings with his entire body!! Seriously!
Learned this from The Wonder Years. Absolutley one of mt favorote songs. His Woodstock performance is absolutely amazing❤
Joe! Will you do some Leon Russell too? Stranger in a Strange Land is a banger! Delta Lady is a classic too.
Yes. Leon Russel “Tight Rope”
What about Jumping Jack Flash/Youngblood from the Concert for Bangladesh . . .
Check out Joe Cocker's "You Can Leave Your Hat On"
You gotta see Joe live! And young. Crazy, man.
You need to see him in a live performance...his performance is beyond unique!
I would call this blue eyed soul
En Vogue ~ "Giving Him Something He Can Feel"
This will forever be a classic. If you could just see his faces he makes when he sings this not to mention his body movements. Poor Joe cocker.
I grew up in a Joe Cocker household! Lol! I remember when I first heard this. The DJ gave a warning, that he sounded different. We were getting a new roof. The cat was freaking out not knowing where the noise was coming from. I was trying to calm him down. He liked the radio, so I turned it on. Then Joe comes on. I was in love forever. Then my father heard him. He said he was the best thing England produced. I can't tell you how many times my parents saw the tour movie "Mad Dogs and Englishmen." There is still a old VHS copy around here somewhere.
Greetings from a old sister, a child of the 60s
