    The Taurus G3C is is proof that you don’t need to spend 500 or $600 to have a great firearm. I have this and the Glock 19 and I take this one everywhere I go because it just works for me. I’m not saying it’s better I’m just saying it’s my preferred carry

      Most failures reported with this particular model was more related to the round itself, namely nickel aloy rounds. Not sure on steel, but brass doesn't have any problems, no matter the load or slug type

Its a quick reliable pickup, all that mattered to me was if I needed to defend myself, I could rely on it to fire properly & sure enough it does! The G3C is like getting your first car, may not be all fancy as the rest but it does it job without fail .

    i like taurus with their g2, g3, and g4 series, they’re all pretty good, everyman’s guns. it’s for the dude that drives a truck from the 90s, the single mom with 3 kids, the 21 year old living alone that needs something to protect them, they’re there for THAT person, and i’ve met people who would rather have the taurus they’ve had for years than a new, more expensive gun simply because why change something that isn’t broken? it’s a great starting point for someone looking for a hobby/good first gun, or for the person who only will ever buy one gun in their life

    I've had mixed results with Taurus over the decades. I had issues with the .45ACP Tracker (awesome gun and concept... if it worked), the 941 .22 revolver and a few of their others had misfire issues as well. The original PT111 had issues with the recoil assembly. Taurus had a bad rep for their repair work and times too. However, I also NEVER had any qualms about buying a PT92 or M85 in decent shape. Everyone I had ran great. I've had a lot of guns from utilitarian to really nice. I picked up a used G2c where I was working as a firearms specialist before I retired. Great little gun. I would recommend them to customers with no worries. I've seen the G3 series is keeping it going with a few updates. So, today I got a G3c for my wife. I wouldn't feel bad carrying it either. I generally carry a G19 Gen 5 or a G43. None of them are beauty queens. They are solid workhorses you can defend your life with. That is its own kind of beauty.

  • @IronChefBklyn
    @IronChefBklyn Před rokem +5

    I swear the biggest issue with this gun is in people's PSYCHE. Marketing engineers have PROVED that when people get a solid GREAT DEAL, they are forever suspicious of quality of materials and/or workmanship, constantly waiting for the proverbial "other shoe to drop". Some people just aren't truly SATIATED until they've paid TOO MUCH for something, as if THAT'S a guarantee of WORTH. We all know that YES Taurus had lemons in the past on top of a 40M lawsuit...AND THEY PAID....DEARLY. Know what? SO DID NEARLY EVERY OTHER MAJOR MANUFACTURER OF FIREARMS.... INCLUDING THE CRIMINALLY OVERPRICED SIG SAUER AND KIMBER, under the SAME management of one Ron Cohen. Under new management, Taurus (like any other brand intent on recovering from reputational catastrophe) knew they had to release a line worthy of a comeback redemption..... well the G Series is IT. The only problem with the G3C so far seems to be everyone's (understandably) cautious suspicions because of PRICE. Had this been released with it's THREE factory mags, glock pattern METAL sigts, and PERFECT grip contour AND perfect stippling...all at a $500 tag instead of $250, maybe the Glock, Sig, S&W, H&K and Walther fanboys of overpriced semi auto polymer pistols would finally "give the devil it's due". As much as MANY people refuse to accept it, the G Series is PROOF that Taurus is simply BACK in the arena, and the haters will simply have to just "deal". As for the FUTURE of Taurus (or ANY of the other players for that matter), they are all just ONE FATAL DESIGN FLAW AWAY REPUTATIONAL SUICIDE.

    • @spnfirearms
      @spnfirearms  Před rokem

      I can agree with some of this but a lot of this just isn’t true. Talk to any FFL, hun store, gun range, gun smith and they will tell you taurus g3c is the number one firearm sent back for issues. I’ve spoke to many gun smiths.

    • @IronChefBklyn
      @IronChefBklyn Před rokem

      @@spnfirearmsSo have I, as I do my own smithing for years now. I have a standing membership at a range that also sells and transfers. They have not one but TWO levels of showroom and funny how they can't keep this gun in stock, but they always wanna "upgrade" you to a "better" GLOCK or SIG. Nobody seems to be able to tell me HOW they're better, they just are because...well, EVERYBODY knows. NO THANKS... I'll rely on my PERSONAL experiences before the anecdotal upgrade pitch of the salesman behind the counter who would MUCH rather "scare" you into an overpriced, overhyped, oversexed "Sig".....I'm no noobie to firearms AND marketing. Also, I don't know where you got your info from...if you can cite your sources I'd love to check them out, because it absolutely contradicts not only my own, not only almost every "guntuber" on this platform, but every other Taurus G Series owner I know as well. The general concensus is already in.....Taurus G3 series is a comeback story.

  • @davidoneill7554
    @davidoneill7554 Před rokem

    This was my first “conceal carry size” firearm…After finally getting used to the sight picture/bore axis*, it’s still a pretty decent lil thing. Came with 3 12rd magazines, the grip feels good, the weight when fully loaded isn’t too heavy, and it hasn’t really given me many jams or malfunctions.
    BUT I will say it doesn’t feed some of the more “aggressively profiled” JHP stuff, don’t know if it’s just me. Even after a good feed ramp polish job I still can’t reliably feed 124gr Federal Punch Hydra-Shoks.
    *= I’m still a novice; I only barely realized that some guns’ front sights are meant to be aimed “slightly above” POI and some are meant to be aimed directly on target. My CZ P01 is most accurate when I put the front sight on target but only recently did I find out the G3C’s front sight has to be a bit above the 10 ring if that’s what you wanna hit.
    When you get great trigger control and don’t anticipate recoil and all of that, it’s a really great gun.

    It was my first pistol after I moved. It was 279 for the stainless version didn’t have a lot of money family all that I did a lot of reading on it and it was almost all positive and it’s been 100 percent. I have bought other pistols after this but I still carry it why not it works I have tested it’s it fits my hand really well. I even bought a Taurus revolver after it and it also is pretty good shooter the fit and finish isn’t great but I don’t really care about that reliability is all that matters to me personally. Down the line if like to have some more expensive higher quality pistols but I don’t feel under gunned when I’m carrying gc3

I have a bunch of $500+ GLOCKs, HKs, Sig Sauers, Berettas, S&Ws etc etc. I'm NOT going to keep one of them loaded and hidden in my bathroom and as a fishing/tackle box/boat gun. For the money spent I think I did pretty well. It's light years better than anything else remotely in it's price range.....SCCY, Kel-Tec, Hi-Point, Jennings/Bryco etc etc. I have quite a few $179 - $259 Star BM 9mm Military/Police surplus pistols. They are all 1975 - 1979 vintage manufactured collectables and are worth a whole lot more than that now from when I bought them years ago. I didn't want to use any of them for this either as they are too nice now. At the time I bought them they could have filled the same role in roughly the same price point.

    Mines reliable. Very much so. Never had an issue and I personally really really like these g2 and g3 models. Idk why but I think they’re awesome little guns. They’re light weight and very very concealable too. I carry mine sometimes to like get the mail or take the trash out. Most of the time, I’d say 99 percent of the time, my g2c stays in my middle console and never leaves that spot. You never know, one day I may be in a hurry and forget my carry gun. Not likely, but it could happen. This way, I’m never unarmed. My g3c stays in my sons bedroom. It’s in a very small fireproof safe on the very top shelf in his closet. There’s absolutely 0 chance he can get to it. Even if he by chance did, he knows gun safety already (which is just don’t touch a gun without dad around, right now.) you all may not agree with that but it’s my house, my family, my son, my gun and my life and my rules. What if someone breaks in and I’m in my kids room and I’m stuck there? Then what? That’s why it’s there. I highly recommend you all do the same.

      Jaytee Fishing I see where a lot of guys that carry with kids are opting for manual safety pistols. They feel that the safety is added protection from one of their kids reaching down and pulling the trigger. Personally I don't own any "striker" pistol without a manual safety. Something or someone will snag on that trigger when you least expect it. Not only that but condition zero is not a safe carry condition and not even Jeff Cooper supported it.

      @@rbm6184 ah some people may feel it’s safer or whatever. Personally i don’t. I’m a very responsible gun owner. Grew up around guns and been shooting since I can remember. I have guns with safeties but most of my guns don’t have safeties. Especially my carry gun. It’s just one more step to miss when you need your gun to go bang. That’s how you end up letting the bad guy win. Trust me, I’ve been there. You don’t think about a safety being on. It’s pretty impossible for a trigger to be snagged unless you’re carrying it irresponsibly. No way it can be snagged in a good holster. Only way that gun goes off is if I pull the trigger myself. My self defense weapons are always hot and they always will be. To each their own. Some people aren’t as experienced. Some people lack the confidence. Some people don’t train enough. Dustin Iott The trigger is a restrike trigger as a single action/double action like no other on the market so its not going to be like the single action triggers that are common. The trigger can be dry fired or detonate a misfired round without racking the slide for recocking the striker. As the taurusfirearms CZcams channel video has said on the trigger, it is meant to be staged like a long double action trigger so that it is already being taken up on the draw and by the time its on target you are at the break wall. The long take up is also another safety feature. It is also meant to be a close range defensive pistol so a better trigger is not necessary for close range.

    I consider mines absolutely reliable with a caveat.It just will not shoot Armscor ammo.I mean literally.I tried to shoot 200 different round of this ammo and not one fired.They fire in my other guns though.My G3c will shoot ANY other ammo...except Armscor I don't know why though but oh well

    Just don't like loading the magazines, have a problem putting in the first round. Since Taurus isn't much into testing their firearms, they don't even know how many rounds the will last. That being said if the Taurus is well maintained? Should be capable of firing 5000 rounds of non +P ammo. Personally never going to put that many rounds through it. Taurus quality control has always been an issues, all their recalls from 1997-2024 doesn't help any.
