This sweet #1929 #ModelA #Roadster 1/25 Scale Model is due in late March 2020!
The Ford Model A (also colloquially called the A-Model Ford or the A, and A-bone among rodders and customizers)[3] was the Ford Motor Company's second market success after its predecessor, the Model T. First produced on October 20, 1927, but not introduced until December 2,[4] it replaced the venerable Model T, which had been produced for 18 years. This new Model A (a previous model had used the name in 1903-04) was designated a 1928 model and was available in four standard colors.By February 4, 1929, one million Model As had been sold, and by July 24, two million.[5] The range of body styles ran from the Tudor at US$500 (in grey, green, or black)[5] to the Town Car with a dual cowl at US$1200.[6] In March 1930, Model A sales hit three million, and there were nine body styles available.[5]Model A production ended in March 1932, after 4,858,644 had been made in all body styles.[7] Its successor was the Model B, which featured an updated inline four-cylinder engine, as well as the Model 18, which introduced Ford's new flathead (sidevalve) V8 engine.
The Model A was well represented in media of the era since it was one of the most common cars. Model kits remain available from hobby shops as stock cars or hot rods.Several Model As have obtained particular fame. The "Mean Green Machine", a green and black 1931 Tudor Sedan, has been a staple of University of North Texas football games and special events since 1974, maintained by the spirit organization Talons since the 1980s. The Ramblin' Wreck, a 1930 Sport Coupe, is the official mascot of the student body at the Georgia Institute of Technology and appears at sporting events and student body functions. Ala Kart, a customized 1929 roadster pickup built by George Barris, won two straight "America's Most Beautiful Roadster" awards at the Oakland Roadster Show before making numerous film and television appearances. Between October 1992 and December 1994, Hector Quevedo, along with his son Hugo, drove a 1928 Model A 22,000 mi (35,406 km) from his home in Punta Arenas, Chile to Ford headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. The car required minimal service, including a flat tire and transmission work in Nicaragua, and is now housed in the Henry Ford Museum.[21]Charlie Ryan's song "Hot Rod Lincoln" featured a modified Model A. The song has been covered several times since its original release.

Ya know with what's going on right now, this is
a breath of fresh air! Love seeing these videos.
I actually look forward to each and every one of
them! You tell such great stories too. And always
make it EXTREMELY entertaining & fun for all Chris.
No matter what you build, I will always tune in to
learn something new, or just get ideas that I can
try with my builds!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
I've watched both of your build videos for this model, well done! You covered this model very well!
Currently I am finishing up the Revell 32 highboy, my only gripe with any of these kits, is, none come with a Ford Flathead v8, they all have smallblock Chevy engines. For my 32 I want to honor the beginning of Hot Rodding, and a Flathead would be perfect for my build! I just wish I could find one. Well I did find a couple on eBay, cost is more than the kit, LOL! and they don't have a transmission attached. I'll find one for my 32 one of these days!
Keep posting builds! I also l love that you don't stick one genre of model building, you build a variety of subjects. I dig that!
I am building my first model in approximately 25 years thanks to you.....look forward to "rejoining" the hobby. So fun as I see kits from my childhood still around, this should be fun. Thanks man......
You can do it! Remember to have FUN and that it's a hobby!
Just a simple tip, use the rear axle mounts that are on the frame to locate the axle and springs, but do not glue the axle to frame and then after the springs and trailing arms are set cut the mounts off. This will let the axle look like it could move up and down.
Thanks. I've watched your videos for years, and love how it comes across as "Just having fun". Exactly as we did as kids, enjoying the models and not stressing.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the nice comment! Much appreciated, model on!
Another great build 👍
You obviously save all your spare parts from other builds
My Brother and I did the same and after a while we had enough spare parts to build our own "custom" builds from various parts of models. Rat rods, custom cars and trucks. It was fun and creative to mix and match parts to come up with our own crazy ideas for rides. I'd love to see what wild and crazy ideas you would build out of the spare parts ( including decals) that you have. Let your imagination and your knowledge go wild. Love to see a video of that. 😊👍👍
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
"He's a Mad Man!" Lol, I love the little back stories you give your models:D
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
I really hope Revell will include this one in their European lineup. It seems like a really nice kit.
Another build full of extreme awesomeness as always. STAY WELL AND SAFE during all of this craziness
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Keep up the good work.
I use you guys to determine which model to buy.
Love hearing the piece counts, and how much you still enjoy these newer model kits (reissues).
You've Knocked It Outta The Park Again Chris !! Thanks For Sharing. Stay Safe, Healthy n God Bless All.
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Perfect timing! Mine just arrived yesterday! Thanks again for showing both builds.
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
That blower is obscene !.....nice work mate 😉
Thanks a lot Gary!
Chris, outstanding work on this Model A Rod! Love the green you used! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Hello, thank you for the reply. I knew you would have the scoop on Revell. I don't always believe everything that I read. That is why I asked you. When you mentioned that Revell sent the kit I had a feeling that things might not be as bad as I saw on the internet. It was also older information too. This is a big help to others who heard of problems with Revell of USA. I hope that they keep releasing the great kits they offer. Revell is one of my all time loved makers. Thank you again.
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Wrote about warped windshield frames. I found if I cut top and bottom window frames out and used close diameter scrap plastic to produce the frame after gluing clear to end posts, it came out looking almost like original.did two of these.
💘 that well detailed engine and blower...
Super cool, I love the color combinations and finish! This is a nice companion to your other 29 Ford, well done Chris!!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Chris, great video and tips , stay safe during this time and happy modeling, I'm gonna get this model as soon as I can, thanks for all you're helpful hints , I'm getting educated in better model building !!

Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Great build. Like the two-tone seats!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice build. I think the term you were looking for was "channeled" not "chopped" .
Yes, I'm sure that's the word. Thanks!

Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Cool little tip is paint your shifter knob black with a drop of white paint. on your decal sheets some of the numbers are decals as well cut out the eight and make an 8 ball shifter
Thakns man!
@@hpiguy no problem sorry about the comment I use talk-to-text and sometimes don't check to see what it says before I send.. LOL
Love the build.Keep up the great model building.
Thanks, will do!
This looks so neat - thanks again for all the tips.
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
I just picked up my 3 one of this kit. Going to do one of each version of the kit build option and going to do the 3rd one as a rat rod build.
Got mine yesterday here in Canada I ordered it last week from the Us ( before they closed the boarder to unnecessary travel ). Just made it😀. I think I'm going with an Old School high boy drag roadster with a blown engine and racing slicks in 60s trim. Very nice kit, I'd recommend it
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome work buddy, as always!!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!

Looks great. I'm looking forward to building this kit myself
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
I think it looks great; subtle paint rather than the usual flames that you'd see on this type of vehicle. Great build.
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Your builds just amaze me buddy...KUTGW an keep them coming...
Thank you!
Very cool like what you did with it , The motor looks sick !
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice, thank you
Getting ready to do this one. Hobby Lobby had them 50% off. But this motor screams to be wired up. Too bad its not a Hemi. They look even better wired up.
Enjoy!
I bought this kit today, and there was another model maker poking around the isle, we started to talk about kits,.. guess what both watch the channel!! We was like... Hpi guy .. Dude! My lady was like omg were gonna be here a minute lmfao
Ha! Nice to hear. Keep having fun!

I cant wait to build mine. Got 3. Give me some tips with your builds. Keep them coming.
Great review chtis
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
I love watching your videos I always learn something new from you! The parts tree from this 29 would be perfect to make scratch built custom frames.. especially the tree with the frames and the tree with exhaust parts
Great idea!
I like it! now I gotta go find one!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
This build reminds me of the show Happy Days for some reason...
Just started to build this kit
Really good! When I saw the almost finish version without the windshield, I thought it was so cool that way. I would've finished the kit without adding the windshield if that was mine.
Or chopped & raked
So Order 1 and Make it Your Way n God Bless All.
@@garyparker2969 ... You know I wasn't complaining, right? I was just telling Chris how I'd build this kit if I had it. Not how he should build it.
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
I am working on this beauty right now
would be nice to see a tour of your display cabinets, you collection must be amazing.. can we see it? Cheers, William
Most are stored away or given away. Some are displayed for a bit. No room for 100+ kits per year to display them all.
@@hpiguy Appreciate you taking the time to reply, Thanks for the great videos, Inspired me.
Title says rat rod but there is nothing ratty about this build. It is a very nice traditional hot rod.
This channel is awesome😃
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome build sir!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
hpiguys Workshop Building our own while your videos play in the background is getting us through this lol

@@hpiguy bought it today at hobby lobby
First! Another amazing build on the same model which shows you how creative you can be. Love your skill level!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
You should build the amt 78 ford 4x4 firestone pickup
Maybe some day Kari!
Looks a lot like a car from the film "The Giant Gila Monster" That's what I'm building with this kit.
Just One Word..... SWEEET!!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
badass 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Liking BOTH versions. I'm gettin' a second one.
Thanks...
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Also what do u do with all ur models ,when they r done
Hello, very interesting. I have been a little heart broken seeing on the internet that Revell has been going through very hard times. Revell of Germany from what I saw is still OK but Revell USA might be almost out of biz. and I saw it was going to Pre School stuff. I don't know how much longer it will be around. What I need to know if it is truly going out of biz. It's been sold off a few times in the last few years. Is there any way that you might know about the future of Revell ? From what I saw it kind of looks bad.
Not many new people getting into the hobby. Kids today rather play on their phones than anything else so it seems. Back to the build. It looks great, nice Rat Rod. Thanks I always enjoy the builds and the stories with it.
I'm not sure what your source is, but try not to take those 'experts' too seriously unless they can provide real hard facts from genuine sources they can prove (a lesson in real life as well).
Revell Germany bought Revell USA a little while back and has taken over their operations for the most part. They have a small US office and are doing their best to provide us with kits and what not.
Revell has always tried to expand into RC and other toys, like any good company should expand it's offerings across markets.
You should do a video on the 76 dart from mpc
Hmm, I should! Stay tuned! LOL ;)
I would buy this kit, it's got a lot of pieces. But the square sprue holding some of the parts has a bunch of uses also.
Keith
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
I just started working on this kit and I can’t seem to figure out what the rectangular part is supposed to be. The ID on the sprue says 3F, but I’m kinda lost.
Loved the video by the way! Kit looks great!
Thank you!
Thanks man!
The new way of molding is cslled slide molding. Its the best think to be introduced in injection molding
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
@@hpiguy thank you for posting the videos. Stay safe.
far out chris you struck yet another one keep 'em coming ....and stay safe, for these are times to stay home and build model kits!!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
I wish the kit came with a 239 "flattie" V8. I love old street rods with a hopped up Flathead 8
One thing I've noticed is when you use CAA cement [crazy glue] on crome parts you don't scrape the plating from surfaces that need to be glued ? Do the parts stay together all right?
Yup, I don't move my stuff a lot or mess with it so it holds really well. Rarely does a part pop off.
Super tuff
If you want more accurate hot rod tires for this kit, there is a competition and performance tire set by AMT,that you can choose to use;if name brand tires, tire specs, and dimensions, are important to you.
