Nice to see someplace off the Interstate path every once in a while. Btw, you were likely under some of the airspace that NAS Fallon uses for training-see anything flying?

This needs to change. When I moved to Nevada about 44 years ago there was the Loon Festival at Waker Lake. Sadly that is not more as what the Loons fed off has disappeared due to the lake leven being so reduced.

What's going on with the overuse of the Walker River's water is very similar to what's also going on with the Colorado River as well. We living on this part of the country need to realize how precious water is in the American Southwest.
& it'll be interesting to see how NDOT plans on building I-11 north of Mercury. Speaking of which, NDOT has finally started putting I-11 signs on the freeway pass it's end at the I-515/I-215/SR 654 interchange. Soon I-515 in Nevada will finally be no more.

You mentioned the water being taken from the Walker River. I also noticed in your video, trenches cut across the highway, about every quarter mile. In a couple places, there are signs warning of a "bump"---indicating that the trench had been recently back-filled. Is this part of that water diversion?
By the way, the same thing happened to Mono Lake. In this case, the water was taken by the City of Los Angeles.
