Guy has horn growing out of his skull...bedroom suite in a bottle!...guy fondles young oriental boy...Robert Ripley plays with Zig-Zag paper...Believe it or not!
I like to think of Jok Church, creator of the comicstrip "You Can With Beakman & Jax" as being a successor of "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" original illustrations, as he also tried to illustrate various facts and explain science in understandable ways. His comic even led to the TV show "Beakman's World". Their format was fairly similar also 3-4 facts illustrated along with text.
Wow. I didn't know Ripleys show goes back to 1930!
My mother knew Ripley, said he was very nice.
This man was a hero of my childhood. This is my first time seeing a video of him and it’s quite surreal.

i love his art work. i think ripley is a hugely under rated artist.
100% agree very underrated, his artwork was distinct to him.
Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Strange, Maccabre, Odd, Amazing, Unusual, Oddities, and Most Amazing and shocking things you will never ever Believe.
I just saw one of these on Turner Classic Movies. Pretty fascinating. Ripley really showed a lot in under nine minutes, very impressive back then.
AHHH! I didn't know any of these had survived! Thanks for uploading this Believe it or Not episode!
Rip Robert ripley 😢😢😢
OMG. The first fastest talker.
Classic, beautiful vid. thanks.
Mr. Ripley had a radio show before his debut on tv. He already had hid fans waiting for the tv show.
Thanks for uploading these
Believe it or not, indeed. I wonder if these shorts are the inspiration behind the old cartoon, "Believe It Or Else".
Thanks a lot for your videos. We want to see more of them.
He seemed reaally nervous doing this.
Ripley relaxed a bit more in later shorts.
+Cindy vc This was his first debut on camera (since he wasn't a natural actor).
Cindy vc he had to have a drink to relax. He was never comfortable in front of the camera.
Who wouldn’t be
Thanks for sharing

+Robert Reed Tv was invented in 1924 and by 1939, there were hundreds of stets in use.

Yeah, I don't get it either. He just seems like a normal Chinese kid. His name is 'one long hop', that's supposed to be weird? I don't get it.
