The Celtics made the roster moves they needed to improve a team that was already a contender.
The Celtics went into the regular season and took care of securing the overall #1 seed by winning 78% of their games.
The Celtics lost only two games in the POs (one was a historic shooting night by the Heat) and are close to sweeping the Eastern conference finalist without, arguably, their third best player (Porzingis), who hasn't played due to injury since Game 4 vs Miami.
Perhaps we should give them credit for doing things right.

I would just like the national media to stop trying to diminish their run to the finals. We didn't hear this line of thought when LeBron ran through the East for the 2010s and almost always got back to the finals every single year. And the East was either the Cavs or the Heat, everyone else was just passable contenders with maybe some gleam to get to the ECF and feel like "this year we showed some progress". It's so tired.

The CELTICS did JUST get BLESSED with FACING short HANDED teams IN the PLAYOFFS, where IN the 1ST round they FACED a TEAM without Jimmy, Rozier, Josh Richardson AND a BANGED up Duncan Robinson but they ALSO got LUCKY by FACING a BANGED up EAST in the REGULAR season. The HEAT, KNICKS, and 76ERS ALL missed a TONE of GAMES due to INJURIES. If THOSE teams were HEALTHY and the BUCKS didn't HAVE their COACH and TEAM drama the Celtics would NOT be WHERE they ARE.
