BONUS TIPS!
1. Your bathing suit choice doesn’t matter because you will have the wet suit or the vest on ALL day
2. If you are planning on having a drink, I would get cash/small bills before you come that day
3. You will already be wearing a lanyard all day and have a vest or wetsuit, so I would suggest buying a water proof lanyard phone case off Amazon like the one in description! It would also hold your cash/ jewelry if you needed :) (The same ones are $35 there lol!)
4. If you eat lunch at 11 you may be hungry again before it closes at 3:30- you can always eat again! No one checks 😃 (of all the food- BEST was the pulled pork and you add the coleslaw to it- CHEFS KISS!)

I’m so excited as we are flying to Florida later this year and I’m really looking forward to going to Discovery Cove, as I’m disabled but being there will be great for me as I can pretty much travel around the park through most of the water park and I won’t have to worry about getting on to my wheelchair 👨🏻🦽✈️🇺🇸

Such a great video...informative, beautifully shot, and I love all your advice, opinions, etc. Right off the bat it looks amazing, like you said, and I cannot wait to be there in 2 weeks!! Funny thing is I never heard of it 24 hours ago, but I did a search on parrots in Orlando (a must-see in Florida), and learned of Discovery Cove. Unbelievably amazingly up my alley!! I'm sure I'll want to do the lazy River 5 times too!! Lol!!

We are going to Florida this August and hopefully we will be going to Discovery Cove as a special extra, as I’m disabled so I’m looking forward to being in the water amongst the dolphins and the fish 🐠🦈✈️🇺🇸

We went today (August 5). We got there about 6:50 and check in already started. Went very smooth.

You kind of surprised me when you mentioned Geauga Lake. That was my home park. My dad's company picnic was there every year, as was my best friend's dad's company picnic, so we took each other and got two visits every summer ❤
That would have been so much fun!! We are from Pittsburgh area! So we used to go to the water park (what was left) all the time when it was owned by Cedar Fair, the last few years it was open. We are still so sad it closed!
@@coastercouple1211 We LOVE Kennywood, too! We are kind of are centrally located between Cedar Point, Waldameer, and Kennywood. Not a bad line up for a new "home park" trio. But GL will always be the original and where my love of amusement parks began.

Were you comfortable in bare feet most of the day? Would you recommend water shoes? Flip flops for cafeteria and bathrooms? Did you bring cash to tip bartenders? And on that note do you know if you can purchase mixed drinks al a cart or do you only get them if you pay for a drink package? Thanks again!

Personally I was comfortable bare foot because it is SO CLEAN there and they are cleaning all day in any common areas. The floors barely even get wet because they clean them so often. We go to water parks all the time this wasn’t on the level of a water park more like a high end resort feel.
No we didn’t bring any cash so we had to use the ATM :( lol I would highly suggest bringing cash so you don’t have to pay the fees.
Yes all the drinks you can purchase I think most everything (even beer) is around $10/$12 a drink.

my husband said that you can't take your own cameras into the dolphin tank? I haven't seen footage on anyone's videos of the dolphin swims... so this must be true?
I did read about no jewelry in the tank with them which makes sense... So just to be 100% can you please verify for me? Thank you in advance... and thank you for sharing this experience so ppl like me know what to expect! God bless you always!
He is correct- you cannot take your own camera/ pictures in the dolphin swim. You will have to purchase the professional photographs if you want any pictures of this experience, which are AMAZING, but they are VERY pricey just a warning.
Everywhere else you CAN take your own photos and videos, even when we did the “Animal Trek” experience last time we went! It is ONLY the dolphin one.
Also correct- no jewelry is allowed in dolphin swim except a wedding BAND. They are extremely strict and will make no exceptions. Both times we have went, people have argued about this, and they will not budge on it.

where did you get your tickets
I wanted to swim with sharks but it looks like for the the $35 underwater swim pack there were some sharks too?
I know you can swim beside the sharks in the area that comes with your day pass! Some of the fish kinda look like sharks lol. But if you want to actually be in the tank with the sharks it’s extra
What area do you recommend to set up camp?
In the dolphin area. It is centrally located to everything.
Is it first come first serve for time slots on dolphin excursions? I am going exclusively for the dolphins and need to be on the road for a UF Graduation ASAP
Yes. They assign them out as out get there. You can pick your time slot. So get there early.

@@josephterry324 check in begins at 7:15 and trust me there are TONS of people there right at that time lol. Discovery cove is really amazing though and five star service- I really feel like if you called in advance and let them know your time frame they would absolutely accommodate you.
Does the suits or vest have floatation in them?
No they do not, they are thick scuba material to keep you warm. They do offer life jackets there though that you can wear over the suit!

How was it
How deep is the water throughout the park?
It depends- where the dolphins are, you can stand up in the water it’s not deep. Same with the area where the otters and monkeys are! The pool that you go snorkeling in goes pretty deep like 10+ feet I think, the lazy river also gets pretty deep at some points probably like 6 feet if I remember.
I can't swim. Can I do snorkeling there?
Trying to figure out if you can purchase ONE dolphin pic, or do you need the whole package? It's over $200 on the website when you purchase ahead of time, so pretty pricey. Just wanting to see if we can pick one of our favs.
I may be remembering this wrong, I picked the package of five, but there was a smaller package of three. I do not remember there being one solo picture. The three pictures were less, somewhere around the $50 range.

How deep is the water
In the dolphin swim it’s not deep in the area they have you in. Like 3-4 feet. In the lazy river and the snorkeling it goes very deep I would guess at least 10-15 ft in some areas.

The sale of Sea World Ohio paid for Discovery Cove.
Do you get to keep the goggles, snorkel, or wetsuit after the visit?
Yes only the snorkel. You can buy the wetsuit if you want.
Do you know what the price is without any of the extra stuff like dolphin swim?
I saw one video where they ran a special and the person got it for like $120 each! But I think normally more like $150-$175 without any extras !
The price also depends on if you are a Florida resident or not
Do they give you life jackets??
Yes there are life jackets available!
