Arnel was already 40 years of age when they discovered him which already not in his prime but still managed to sing great with Journey for morethan a decade is really amazing.
Pineda was older when he joined Journey compare that to a young Perry when Journey was starting. Anyway, Pineda stuck it out with the band despite all the dramas. He continued to sing the legacy for those fans who tirelessly watch the band. Without Pineda the band wouldn't have this rebirth.
To all Perry fans: Arnel was brought in to continue a legacy sound that was made popular with Perry on lead vocals.He was not brought in to go in a different direction and thus he "sounds like" the original.Neal Schon said so in interviews why he made the effort to bring AP to the fold.AP is a Perry fan himself and has tremendous respect for the man.Just enjoy the music.Lets all enjoy it and cross our fingers that Steve might one day return and do even just one song with the old crew.That would be a blast.🎸🎸🎸🎸
I cant belive that someone said he is using autotune just because they cant believe Arnel can sing almost perfect like the original. That was his talent singing the song like he owns it with heart and soul. If any of you dont like Arnel must stick to Steve Perry its really simple scroll up and dont listen to Arnel.Its been so many years anyway Arnel is used for that kind of comment.

Arnel was first picked not by listeners, but by the band themselves. He is the longest lead vocals for the band and holds much RESPECT for Steve. Says he's willing to step back for Steve anytime he wants to sing with the band again (right after the Journey hall of fame event).
I vote Steve Perry but enjoy Arnel Pineda too. To me I go more with Steve because that’s the Journey I grew up with. They both sound great and I love Journey either way.

This song is just timeless wonderful. Please show more of them, who ever is on the mic or instruments. Can paint my own picture than. But the music will be great anyway. Just move on. 70's to 80's Rock era is the greatest I know but we are now in 2023 and most greats at that time can't play live conerts anymore. Stop comparing just enjoy and be glad they are still performing live with those great songs whoever is new in the band .

It’s not necessarily true that artists from back then can’t still perform well live. That said, I've also left room for Arnel to be included in the conversation as he is also a great singer. this was in las vegas 2008, i was there. this is their 1st public concert in usa with AP.
