- Late in the afternoon of June 8th, 2023, a strong line of storms moved in from the northwest slowly. Once the storms entered parts of Waller, and Grimes County, some severe warned areas had developed and the storms gained speed towards the southeast. Once it entered the Harris, and Waller County line area, the storm in this video flared up and began making great progress. I headed over to a good open spot in Tomball with a good dry view of the storm approaching. I made a quick jump southward to better intercept the storm, seeing it had strong winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, some possible hail, and good lightning. This video is the highlights and ambient moments of the storm.

Gorgeous! I’m from the Scottish highlands and we get some nasty winter storms here, but we rarely get thunderstorms. I’d love to visit the USA to see these beautiful storms - you guys have amazing big skies due to the flat lands and it’s so completely opposite to where I live. We have lots of mountains and although it’s very beautiful, I’d trade for a bit just to experience these gorgeous storms. If anyone needs a 46 year old nurse or nanny in exchange for a place to crash, I’d love that lol!
If you do visit and hope to catch a thunderstorm, make sure it is during the warmer half of the year and at the right location.
There are some places in the US that have a lot of thunderstorms and some that have little to no storms. I live in south-central Kentucky, but the storms aren't very impressive here. I have heard that some states tend to have bad weather frequently, but I can't remember which ones. You should do some research to know the best places to find severe/heavy thunderstorms.
Visit during May to September. You're bound to catch some good ones especially in the South!
Amazing storm... love the aquamarine sky & pink lightning.
I live in the UK & we don't usually get storms on this scale here. It's my dream to go on a storm chasing week in the US.
Nothing and means NOTHING will STOP a Walmart Shopper from getting the lowest price on isle #3……even if it means getting their vehicle washed away….
😂😂😂 LOL
Ain’t that the truth.
These were some powerful storms, did a lot of damage in the Cypress area around FM 1960 between 249 and 290.
That's an amazing looking front!! Also I think 2:25 is one of the scariest sounding thunderclaps I've ever heard. It just sounded like wind blowing in the mic really hard.
That is an epic thunderstorm in Texas. Sadly don't get storms like this often in the UK
Beautiful!
There's 100% positive lightning strikes in every batch.
AWESOME FOOTAGE!! ❤❤
Tomball...right up the road from me. Howdy Texan

Looked like a twister was trying to form over that Walmart.. And still the shoppers wanted their deals.
So cute ans beautiful!
That’s impressive!!
Looks a lot like August 16, 2020 in NE DFW
Beautiful supercell
Cloud To Ground Lightning Strikes are so much fun I still have yet to see one hit anything though up close or super close to a window
Better run.
2:24 POW! Right on top of the Walmart.
only good thing about these is the breeze before the rain hits
dang that storm looks bad the fact it was strong enough to move the light pole and make the power flash
❤❤❤🌧⛈️⛈️🤩🤩🤩🤩
What a wallcloud hanging over Walmart!
Walmart shoppers are tough.
That's the ancient amplified thunderstorms, not the actual severe thunderstorm that gets.
✔✔👍👍💯💯
I think you caught ball lightning at around 30 seconds in
That was my birthday in 20023
I bet there are customers at Walmart, that just don't want to step outside now.

Filmed at the shopping center at 249 and 2920, and 249 and Spring Cypress yes
