    • @michaelbruvolt4221
      @michaelbruvolt4221 Před 26 dny

      @thefirstcurse3123 again, no.
      It was the Astronomical Society who determined this. What better group to decide this issue than them? And why insisting on the demarcation between "planetary and star scientists"? They're astronomers. Never heard anyone call them 'star scientists'. What's a planetary scientist? Is there a society or organization of them? I think you're trying to find a club to "bludgeon" the International Astronomical Society that doesn't exist.
      Anyhow. There are plenty of reasons to discount Pluto as a planet. Mainlyy its orbit is on a completely different arc and plane than the eight planets. It's Arc is the same as all the other icy asteroids in the Ort cloud. Its irregular. Planets have a level orbit in the same plane as the sun. Pluto does not.
      Also, you're mixing up the random debris that Pluto is in a field with to moons that orbit around a planet in elliptical motions. That's not happening with thr debris around Pluto other than maybe Charon. The planets don't have these fields of debris around them. Again, moon's orbit AROUND a planet. Pluto's debris field does not.
      Also since you're so focused on the clearing Pluto as a planet, why not the same effort for Eris, Makemake, or Ceres? Why does Pluto only get to have your defence?

    Pluto officially hasn’t been classified as a planet since 2006, due to it not actually meeting the requirements for a planet. And it’s smaller than our moon. (For everyone asking where it is)

    Pretty good video. I actually went and crunched some numbers and I think this is fairly accurate for how much sky they’d take up. A fun fact: if you could scale up a sheet of paper to the size of Saturns rings they’re actually about 100 times thinner than a sheet of paper. They’re estimated to only be only 0.6 miles thick but 175,000 miles across.
