Great vid... And thanks for your previous help. I've figured something out that I did by accident...
When I ordered my DMX cables, somehow I was sent regular XLR cables in stead. Now there had been some debating on whether XLR can work on DMX devices. The answer is yes, but with problems. The problems I had were that I wasn't able to use regular or standard settings from DMX controller, to the lights. Example... Scene 1 Should be Red... With XLR, it was Green, and I couldn't set red on any of them.
Now that I have corrected the cables to DMX, I am now able to set my scenes. So be sure to get the correct cables for proper mixing.

I was thinking... You could probably make some extra cash if you were to make some PDF or otherwise lists of settings, so people like me could get some hands on ideas for making scenes and chases.
You know... A step by step guide for dummies... Lol

My thing is, that I want to be able to set some scenes to songs. Like...
How do I time my moments to certain notes and or beats... How do I make the lights go slow during some parts of the songs and fast during the others, WITHOUT using the "Tap Speed" button while the song is playing?

That is done with DMX computer software. Manual DMX controllers will not do that, unless you control it while the song is playing.
Hi! Is it possible to edit a bank in a Chase afterwards without resetting the other banks?
(so i can change chases simply without setting up the whole light show?)

Is there a way to show two scenes at one time? IE: If I have a setup on scene 1 and scene 2, how do I have those on at the same time?

thank you, but what if I program a chase and want one transition from scene 1 to scene 2 for 6 seconds and scene 2 to scene 3 within 4 seconds?
In your tutorial the chases/scene Switches had the same transition speed i mean I could manually slow it down with the one Fader but there has to be a way to program it...
The only way with this controller is to repeat scenes within the chase.

I can try but I'm not sure what I would show that hasn't been done in my previous videos. I'm in the process of moving right now so it may take me a week before I can make a video.

Thanks for the very informative videos, I do have a question, are you able to make multiple effects, with the same fixture, in the same scene?
Only if the light has a channel where it can switch between effects. For instance my dj spot 250, once channel 4 is above 200, it cycles through all the gobos.
Really nice video. If I have 16 lights and want to do one effect from left to right with them. Do I need to program first 16 scenes and then chase them all to one scene?
If you're doing something like having all of the lights off and then they turn red one at a time from left to right then yes, 16 scenes programmed to 1 chase will be the easiest way.
If I have one scene chase for instance, and then I want to adjust the color of one light. Do I need to program the whole scene again (lets say have 10 lights adjusted to one scene)? So baiscally it will be a whole night job. Or is there easier way to just "edit" one channel?

Can all of your colors for each light be on the same channel? If so you can take advantage of overwriting a channel by manually controlling it during a chase. For instance, if you're running a chase and you select one of your fixtures and manually move one of the sliders, then you will overwrite this channel and all other channels will continue to run through the chase. I have 4 lights that use channel 3 for color changing and these are fixtures 3, 4 and 5 on my controller. I will often run a chase but want these lights to be the same color so I'll select fixtures 3, 4 and 5 and move the slider on channel 3 so that they are all the same color.
May I ask what light do you call the one that uses globo lights aside from the moving heads?

Not sure which ones you mean. In the video I'm using scanners which are DJ Scan 250 HP. I actually don't have any par cans anymore but it's the same concept. What lights and controller are you using?
I'm just starting. So I have the LED Lights only. planning to buy mini moving heads to practice :) Am also using DMX 512

DieselIab67 sure thing. What do you need help with? A chase is just a sequence of scenes. Chases allow you to pick random scenes from different banks to be combined together into a list callef a chase.

Nice !! Thanks . I have an issue with DMX. When I run my 2 moving heads or my FXPar9 lights through my controller and have the lights run in sound active or one of the light's programs, they start running together ( moving heads or my FXPar9 ) but then quickly run out off sync. If I run the lights Master/Slave all is fine. Do you think this is a controller issue, cable problem or compatibility issue with lights and controller?
Are you running the sound active button of the controller or do the lights have a channel for sound active and you are just moving that channel on the controller?
@@DJGhez There is a channel for the sound active and program on the fixture. Both fixtures respond the same way no matter how i connect them. They start together then move out of sync.
@@iambobby3537 Gotcha. So what's happening is your controller is telling each light independently to run sound active. Even though they are connected together they act independently in a DMX daisy chain system. The only way to get them in sync would be to either make scenes and run sound active chases from the controller or, if your lights allow, change the downstream light to Slave Mode so that the upstream DMX controller lights is the Master. Again not all light allow you to do this but a lot of old school dip switch lights do. Let me know if I'm missing something.

I need help setting up scenes with multiple fixtures. When I set one fixture how I want it, how do I set the next fixture, and set the scene?

Zak Snow if your are in program mode you can select a fixture, move it where you want it, then deselect that fixture. It will stay wherever you had it last. Then you can select the next fixture. Do this until you have all the lights doing what you want for a scene and then save it as a scene. Hope this helps.
