- In this tutorial, you will learn How to Add a Freeze Frame in Movavi Video Editor. Adding a freeze frame to a video essentially, adds a still image to pause the video and then resume play. You can add a freeze frame at the beginning, middle or end of the video. In this tutorial, I show you two examples where I add a freeze frame at the beginning and at the start of the video.
Here are the steps to follow to add a freeze frame to your video: (1) import your main video to the main timeline in Movavi; (2) place the play-head at the position where you want to add the freeze frame; (3) right-click on the play-head and you will see a dialog box with several options; (4) choose Insert Freeze Frame; (5) and finally, you can adjust the duration of the freeze frame by dragging the edges of the still image.
Once you add the freeze frame, you can add filters, animated text, and annotations to the still image. You can use your creativity to use this feature in different situations in your video editing.

When was this feature added. My version doesn't have it.
Hi Randy, I'm not sure in which version Movavi introduced the Freeze Frame feature, but I've had it since I first got Movavi video editor. The version that I created this tutorial for is from the Movavi Video Suite 16.5.1 version.
@@AnthonyGodinho Thanks for answering. I'm still on v 15, so that explains why its missing. Unfortunately after running into many frustrating roadblocks using MVE, I've decided to switch to another company's video editing product.
@randy_constan you're welcome. I'm glad you found a video editor that works better for you. Cheers!
I get a "can not set stream position" message when I do this. 😩
Hi Anika, I've used the Freeze Frame option many times and have never encountered this error. What version of Movavi are you using? What is the format of the video clip that you're adding a freeze frame to?
it doesnt say freeze frame for me
Hi there, what options do you have when you right-click on the play-head? And what version of Movavi are you using? I'm not sure if the Freeze Frame feature is available in all version of Movavi video editor.
