- HI everyone we are going to start our shut down procedures for our central boiler cl 6048 classic wood boiler! There is a special process to shutting these machine down so please take the time to watch the video series. This process is similar to other units as well, outside of central boiler, so hope you can learn something!
I live in Iowa and still using the fireplace. It is snowing as I am writing this comment. We are on a roller coaster for temperatures this spring.
Thats insane LOL thanks for sharing! Hopefully we out of this cold crap soon!
Iam going to be shutting mine down next week!! It's been a little chilly at night yet but looks good next week!! Yes it's a pretty hot and dirty job to do but very necessary to do hahahahaha!! Stay safe my friend
Indeed! Tis the season to be done with it haha all I have left is premium seasoned wood which I cant justify burning when its 55 out haha! Thanks for tuning in!
I shut my down here in southwest Missouri about 2 weeks ago. Prior to that I did a treatment with the sludge conditioner. Shut it down, drained out all of the water, filled with new water and MolyArmour. Ran it for about three weeks before shutting it down for the summer. CB 5036. I still need to scrape and empty the ash out. First water change out since 2011.
Hey there sounds like you did it right! Gave the sludge conditioner enough time to do its thing, drained and refilled! Make sure you at least take the ash out now. You dont want to leave any ash in there as it can hold moisture and can rot the machine out! Im sure you know but just a friendly reminder!
Hey Jay, I’m in western NY and I think I’m calling it quits for the season next weekend.
Hey TC! Just came back from your channel actually lol yeah all I have left is premium hardwood (which isnt bad) but cant justify burning that when its 55 out during the day lol so we shut her down!
GOod evening Sir, ( TONIGHT IS THE HOMESTEAD JAY CATCH UP SPECIAL 🧐👍👌 ) Sir YOU YES YOU ARE THE BEST WOOD BOILER OPERATOR AND MAINTAINER Sir 👌👍🧐 Cheers 🍻
Thank you for catching up! I will be by your channel in a little bit return the favor!
@@HomesteadJay Thank you Sir and do Please Keep up your OUTSTANDING Family work Sir 👌👍😁🍻
Interesting
Working on a will it start actually! Trying to line it up as we speak!
Thanks for tuning in Hank!
Thanks for the videos. Here in MN I run my 5036 24/365! Can’t fathom spending money on propane to heat all the water in a home with 3 girls! Only use about an additional cord and a half to run it thru summer.
Hey Trapper. You are a much stronger person than me lol I couldnt justify having to run this machine all summer. I love wood heat. I love this boiler. But 6ish months is enough for me lol
That time of year again, eh?
Hoping to get another 3 weeks out of mine
Gonna be a nice break haha. Hungry beasts
Im happy to be done for sure! Its fun and I love it but its solid 5-6 months of work!
👍
Thanks brother!
We're still getting snow here. ☹️
Thats insanity!
I have a outside boiler do you have to keep water in boiler all summer?
Yes keep water in it. Whatever model/brand you have it "should" have some type of water treatment testing to do to make sure your water isnt corrosive and the PH is correct.
@@HomesteadJay I empty mine every summer it’s hard to keep it full and watch it all the time
@@davemetz5412 Im not sure what you mean by watch it? Outdoor boilers shouldnt leak
Is that an ArboWear belt?
Kore
Diesel fuel and a cheap sprayer works real good. Leave the door open and spray diesel fuel on the top and side walls with a small fire
Thats not a good idea to use any liquid fuel on these machines in any way. I do not recommend that at all nor does central boiler for many obv reasons.
Part 2 can I tell you how to start or end it
lol what?
@@HomesteadJay fix the doooooooooor
HAHAH Yes! I will now that we done with it lol
Lol 😂
that door has at least another year left in it yet. 😂
