- Been a while since I talked about other games I've been playing, but I've been waiting for Remnant 2 for a while now and I'm so excited that I finally get to talk about it! After a year of hard testing and playing, I can finally let the cat out of the bag!

Pardon my audio, recording in a hotel room while I'm moving. And don't mind some of the clips that seem to be snappy or skipping, my laptop had a hard time with some of the recordings over the weeks, but trust me the game runs beautifully!
Games that come out like this are so refreshing and they remind me of the good old days when developers would actually make their games better with new titles. This sort of sequel is literally the only way to do it
only $50 is crazy, nice to see a dev not selling for $70 just because they can. gonna have to try this one out for sure

The $50 price point is amazing. I did the $70 because 3 DLCs should be more than $20 so it's a good deal if you have the money and are a big fan.

Totally agree. The ultimate edition is a crazy good deal. Considering the game has advertised itself as very much From the Ashes 2.0 preordering is actually a safe bet
Eh I chose to get the base one, the swamps of corpus dlc wasn't great, felt like they could've just shaped that in the main game. Subject dlc was worth it though.

I put a couple hundred hours into the 1st game and I plan on putting even more hours into the sequel thanks to my 7 daily vacation starting midnight tonight.
Same, I got 10 days off. Can't wait to get home and start playing.
One thing I really hope that they add to the game, if it's not already there, is an on/off slider for weapon mod cosmetics like they have in the first game for helmets.
The little details in R1 really sold it for me. Like how gun handling reacts to walls and railings. Shows that a dev team cares and enjoys the genre.

Great vid. Can't wait to play. I have the Ultimate Edition PS5. The DLCs were great in the previous and I expect nothing less in the DLCs to come. I support Gunfire Games always. The quality and track record speaks volumes.
None of what you said is at all surprising to me, but it is all making me even more excited to play this sequel. I'm very happy to see the extended buildcraft aspects of the game, because the old trait system really led to a more homogenous feeling to a character once you got high up in trait level.

So far my only real gameplay complaint is that even tho they added a jump, they didn’t add a jump attack for melee. Feels like a missed opportunity.
On ps5, performance so far is good on balanced mode… except in the labyrinth. LOTS of frame drops there. Also, anyone on ps5 should make sure you have a 120hz tv before you use performance mode- if not, it gets really glitchy on a 60hz tv. Screen tearing and just plain weird. Balanced mode locks the fps at 60, so aside from the labyrinth, it runs fine.
Kind of a shame there are no trigger effects on ps5 tho, especially for a game about guns. And I’ll always push for gyro aim for shooters for us controller users, but R2s gamepad controls are tight enough once you adjust your settings to your liking.

I plan on replaying this game A LOT. Remnant 1 was absolutely underrated, I only noticed it bc it was free once in the Epic Games store. If the 3 DLC's are just as good as Subject 2923 this game might just become one of my all time favorites. Also just fun to play with different friend groups, since the story is randomized every time. The only thing I dislike is that I can't listen to the OST of both games anywhere.

When i saw this game revealed my jaw hit the core of the earth. I didnt expect it, i wanted it, craved it, and now im playing it.
The ONLY reason i havent watched uour other remnant2 videos is cause of spoilers. I want to figure the stuff out on my own (minus the archon stuff. Thanks data miners for that one 😂)

I loved the first remnant I only have about 130 hours in it but managed to beat all the bosses in hardcore besides the last dlc boss. I loved you videos on the game and Im really hyped to play it soon. Hopefully I can beat the full game on hardcore this time and probably will get all the achievements
Same here, that final boss is really hard to solo on hardcore.

I played Remnant for a few hours but to be blunt I generally find the overall difficulty and character power growth of souls like games frustrating and intimidating so I never really committed. For reasons I can't explain, I dove into Remnant 2 headfirst and found myself slamming my face over and over on the first world boss (which for me was Nightweaver). Even on the easiest difficulty, the adrenaline and feelings of accomplishment were dizzying.
The environments are intense, sometimes terrifying (especially on first encountering areas/events), extremely challenging, and absolutely loaded with secrets and treasures in every hidden nook and behind every false wall. The game feels like a trove of undiscovered and inscrutable mysteries, with low hanging fruit dropping continually at the player's feet while the upper branches required walkthroughs and hours of effort.
I still suck hard at souls like games but at this point I've unlocked all the classes, most of the build defining weapons, and even healer cheesed my way through Apocalypse (with EVERY boss rolling OP defensive affixes like empathy/regenerator, empathy/tough skin, empathy/life steal I ended up needing to craft unique build variants to eke out victories for most).
I haven't loved and enjoyed a game this much in many years, and I've never been able to commit to a souls like game before. This is BY FAR my goty favorite.
It certainly seems better than anything else that came out this year so far. That said, Starfield is supposedly coming out this year so we'll have to wait and see.

In Germany game's cost 80 euros that's almost 90 dollars. I rarely buy new game's it's to expensive... But remnant for 50 is a steal with so much content!

is there an incentive to play harder mode? do you get more loot drops or something.. or its it just for the challenge and being harder?
It recommends you to Play on the first difficulty first and then when your happy with your character after looting and exploring you can up the difficulty. Trust me you don't want to go up against the recommended difficulty because it's based on your progression and. Yes harder difficulty better loot.

On remnant 1if I remembered correctly u get more XP and materials the higher the difficulty.

Sometimes i just wanted to grind alone and sometimes it was great to have randoms who can guide you to cool stuff and show off their cool builds.

Not gonna lie... I wasn't a fan of Remmant 1 because some of the things it had, but this sounds convincing enough to give it another try
The only downside to the Pre-order is its digital. Im one of those that likes a physical copy of a game i love so much but dont really want to wait 3 days to buy/play the physical copy. 1st world prob.

I will say it seems good, my only gripe so far is that I can't FUCKING play the game. Bought it, don't work, troubleshoot for hours, give up and refund. Guess il come back in a couple months when shit's hopefully fixed

Honestly I wouldn't mind more games like this but with guns. I'm only on the first mission level 3 but I'm in love with this game. If they can pull a bunny out of a hat a double over on a remnant 3 like they did here from 1 to 2 that would be wicked but enough with that. I just can't wait to play it again. Takes a good bit to get me excited for a game but this game has proven itself plus a little more.
Even with all these rave reviews and hype train im still on edge, until it's in my hands after launch I will be ready for disappointment

I don't really get it tbh. 15 hours in and I'm just bored. Exploration - mid. Rewards and itemization - mid. Combat - it's okay, but boss battles aren't that great to make it replayable.

First of, there is no way someone would take 20+ hours with the main campaign unless they are afk for more than half of it. Secondly, personally not a fan of the class system and how they lock it behind pre-orders and shit. Makes no sense to me other than a pure greed move. Very huge minus.
Loved the first game, was looking forward to this one but damn if I didn't feel left hanging with content. Does not help how incredibly little personal customization there is to your powers, passives and upgrades compared to the first one.
Unless the Gunslinger shows up in their storefront/DLC page then I doubt its a paid exclusive class. All it does it make it an available starting archetype to use instead of having to find it in-game.

You can unlock it normally, they have said so in the steam pages. The only thing I don't think you can get is the worthless backpack in the ultimate edition.

It's simple. Turn on upscaling, set everything to "low" and pretend you aren't still seeing depressing frame-times...
