mws755 i mean they reused scenes from other episodes cause they were having some troubles finding dodge chargers or police cars to wreck in order to save money they reused scenes from different episodes.

in a episode of dukes where Jason steel is trying to frame the dukes it's the one where Rosco comes into some money left so tries to get bo & Luke in jail there's a identical general Lee to the one the dukes drive is switched bo gets in and rosco pulls the dukes over n says your in the hooscow for grand theft auto n bo says it's his car n Luke's say that explains why the charger is acting up n Jason says try the door n Luke finds the door opens on charger
Seeing the fake general in this show reminds of my general lee when I wrecked it but I'm gonna rebuild him back to his glory days

The 68-70 chargers are my all time favorite cars. Sometimes I wish the General Lee was an AMC Pacer when I watch this show. What a waste!

@Crazy - Not all Generals were 69s. Some where 68s or 70s, just repainted for jumps and stunts. So not so many 69s were used all in all. :)
They never used any '70 Chargers, it was too much work to convert them. Only used 1968 and '69 models.

Which General Lee is which?
For all you people saying how many Chargers they destroyed the truth is they used 68 69 and 70's most of them they got from wrecking yards put bondo on them gave them a 20 foot paint job and sometimes they used a cable system to pull the car over the jumps no motor no tranny and they were able to reuse the charger for several jumps. In a interview years ago a mechanic on the set said they used 25 chargers using multiple camera angles they were able to "jump the car 4 or 5 times" for the price of one. In fact the Dukes of Hazzard saved more chargers from the dump then they wrecked.
I read a magazine that stated: The Dukes of Hazzard T.V. show used 1968 - 1970 Dodge Chargers. I think it was T.V. Guide.

No '70's were ever used the front grille is way too different and '68's had to have the rear panel and front grille changed

Your kidding right? Do you know how many chargers they did to look like the one car? Its easy as paint and rims. They even took different year model cars and modified the body's to make them look the same. Not real hard to do to be honest.
