I had a red Mito diesel back in 2012 -ex demo which I stuck 30,000 miles on in a year. Took it from Gloucester to Helensburgh in Scotland and tankful to tankful it did an incredible 81mpg

Loved the Saab 9-3 Aero, I was looking to buy one last year, having owned two og 9-5 cars and I like the over engineered cars that the Swedes produced, despite the GM bean counters trying to cut costs. Couldn't find a good one, so bought a well looked after Honda CR-Z instead.
That VW UP looks very much like the 59 plate Daihatsu Sirion that I bought in 2015... I think I paid £750 then... but when it came to parts, it was a mare, as Daihatsu had pulled out of Europe just after making that model, which was a real shame.
I need to take a trip up North to that G3 auction . That old Galaxy and poor paint work Zafira would have sold as a quick flip , ideal dog walking cars , carboot sales car , tip run car . You got some good buys there Lee , good luck mate 👍

i bought a 15 plate ecoboost a few years ago with only 48000 on it,i knew about the wetbelts but thought it would be safe for a few thousand miles..wrong,pickup pipe got blocked and blew the engine..lesson learned

Only problem is your world becomes so much smaller once to swap your car for a bus pass. I remember when I couldn’t afford to run my car for a couple of years. Then things that took an hour to do became a half day chore travelling and hauling.
I've just bought one with the wipers not working and some bodywork damage to the front bumper. Purchased for £400, wiper control unit £38 secondhand and a matching colour bumper for £110. Car had 58k miles on the clock and full service history. Moved on for £3,300

You can set your watch by that 2.0 Jag diesel engine failing. Timing jumps and its toasted . Unless its had a full new chain kit fitted, its on its last gasp at 120K. Its around £2300 for a new chain, engine and gearbox out job if you want it guaranteed .
that red Vauxhall zafira the line down the back quarter panel was from a past repair where it got cut and had it replaced and they did not do a good enough job putting it together and is showing the gap with body filler and i looks like body filler on the side also
Lee, I have recently bought an E51 Elgrand similar to the black one. I wanted to upgrade from my Mazda Bongo. I bought a high spec one with warranty and I'm first UK owner, I've already been under it with Lanoguard etc and secondary cats replaced with stainless steel through pipes. Having driven it now for a couple of months I find it just an awesome car, and that V6 can shift even though it is a two tonne van. Definitely thirsty, drive one if you get a chance though!!
Jaguar was not that cheap when selling on auto trader £2999 for 2016 yes a bargain for private buyer but could have a whole lot of issue if it 2.0 diesel

Just thinking & you mentioned it Lee regarding the VW up , with the car besn provisional you if possible should have gone to enquires etc & said if owner or dealer garage won't accept the bid would they if i offered £200 above what they did. Basically same as gazumping. You also i thought should have bid on the 14 plate Kia Sportage which miles weren't too high & only £1900.& the 13 plate Renault Clio at £1700 . Obviously i know you have both isn't the kia already sold though. The Sasb 93 sportwagon couldn't see the front but an 07 possibly a facelift, if it is it looked just like my 09 sportwagon Vector CTDI even same colour & wheels. Bet that had been traded in as the cost of the 2.0T engine is outrageous its £700 or so.
I'm surprised to see many of my petrol-head friends moving over to electric cars, seems they don't want to get stuck owning a diesel or petrol car as the prices are dropping the nearer we get to 2030. Be good to see EV's going through the auctions at lower prices.
It would be better for G3 to rearrange there auction pitch so you don't have to listen to the other auctioneer. It must be off putting I think I would get fed up of the noise and leave.

As a private buyer if I buy a car from auction and if it drives , am I allowed to drive it to a garage for MOT or do I HAVE to hire a tow truck. Can I drive a car away or do I have to transport the car as a private buyer given the car Runs and drive??

The cheapest Skoda Fabia 1.2 TSi 2013 I could find in Australian ads was AUD6,990 (GBP 3600) That is a hell of a difference!
