No, actually the song was written on the back of a cigarettes pack right there, in the battlefield
It was written in true regimental tradition at the Battle of Tumbledown. Maybe Andrew made an arrangement of it, who knows.

After the war it was quietly reinstated.

my father was a Scots Guard. This composition was always held very highly by him.
my father was scottish army boxing champ,he wasnt fond of the pipes appears he always had to defend them
Mine too and was at tumbledown. He died recently this song will always make me smile.
