No probs mate.. meant what I said. It was weird going down there, felt like I'd been before, but it was just after 6 years of hearing you guys talk about it. Wish I'd been with you now. You have my lifelong respect

The commentary before the tune(s), whether it's a local landmark, history, interesting piping information, or anything else, is as good if not better than the world class playing that follows.

This is a tune our band has in its repertoire and I have to learn it ASAP; this video is perfectly timed! Terrific background context here. I remember following the Falklands War at the time and I always knew where this tune came from but a lot of Americans don't, and have never heard of Mount Tumbledown. The Scots Guards and the Gurkhas pipers were part of an amazing campaign.

Nice tune Neil grate history about the tune and of course about the Falkland Islands brilliant playing as usual on lovley pipes well done 👏

  • @ruaraidhmcdonald-walker9524

Great tune and a fascinating story! The history and story at the beginning is a great part of the video rather than just a tune on its own.

Very interesting info about the Falkland Islands. I recall the news coverage about it here in 🇨🇦 Great playing as per usual.
Maybe next year our summer Highland Games here will return after two years of being restricted by covid. Cheers & Slainte 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hi Neil well played big man, I love what You’re doing for the Parkinson’s Charity, it’s so underfunded in the UK but the disease effects thousands, so well done and good luck for the rest of challenge. PS nice to see You’ve still got a full head of hair.

I was taught to play drums by Billy MacKay, late of the 2nd Battalion Scots Guards! He's still going strong, thank you for the video 😊

Went daft sharing this one as a tribute to the Scots Guardsmen who died in that conflict and since!
