“Reading is very relaxing”
*cries over a beloved characters death*
*screams in rage*
*throws book on the ground*
*curses the authors name into the wind*
So relaxing
True that 😂😂😂👊
In a way , that how relaxing is to me 😂😂

It’s so true though! 😂🖐
Hailey : *Writes 2 books in a year. Reads crazy amounts of books. Works hard on her book social media. Works hard at job* "I'm so lazy!"
Me: *Sits on CZcams all day eating crisps* "Gurl, same."

Enjoy today's video! GO FORTH AND READ!
Aliceeeee
Awww Alice! I love it!
Yesss! This is one of my favorite quotes, and I say it all the time about myself lol.
I started humming the tune for that song right after I read it😂😂
Alice!!!!
*Here are the tips in text:*
(some of them may be in wrong order, or weren't entire tips let me know if there is a mistake)
1. Try audiobooks
2. Choose a small book
3. Pick something you're interested in and isn't too complicated
*sub tip: don't make reading a chore
4. Don't read in a comfortable place or position (so you don't fall asleep)
5. Keep phone and any other distraction away
6. Set an allotted time for reading (with realistic goals 50 pages in a week etc., set a reward)
7. Try and read at the same time every day (to form habits)
8. Join a book club, buddy read
9. Teach yourself to speed read
10. Give yourself a book buying ban
11. Don't be afraid to DNF books (don't force yourself to read something you don't enjoy)
Love your channel Hailey :)
This was a great video! I definitely need to try setting timers more ahaha
Thanks Emma! 💕
Seeing my two favourite booktubers support each other makes me happy 🖤📚
Me reading books is me being lazy, procrastinating and trying to escape my real responsibilities 😂
preach
I didn't read enough when I had time but now that i do read... i have no time :(
Well said😁😁
Hey
I feel attacked by the title of this video 👀😂
Irish Reader i had the same thought omg
These tips are great because they also apply for studying🙂
Definitely!!
@@HaileyinBookland SHE REPLIED😍😅
I feel like I've been called out 😂😂
Brilliant advice though, Hailey! I really need to stop procrastinating and start reading.
Awkward Hannah same here girl I’m with you 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
This video made me want to get off CZcams and set myself a Timer to read for 30 minutes. I'll go do it now. Bye.
I love these tips (don’t need them I finish about 4 books a week) but I still think they are great advice. My only negative thought is if you are only reading 50 pages a week you don’t really want to read. I think a tip that needs to be identified is “do you really WANT to read?” Or are you just feeling like you should.
DNF has become a lifesaver for me. There are a few books I have come back to later on and enjoyed, but I'm glad I went forward with a book that I loved and was looking forward to.
“Sit on the floor if that’ll help...” currently falling asleep watching videos whilst sitting on the floor for the 8th day in a row
Audiobooks have been a lifesaver. I just finished Sadie (I loved!!) and sometimes I use it to get me into the book and then I’ll pick up the hard copy and be inspired to finish that way. Scribd has been a good service for me!
Now this a video for me 😭thank you Hailey ! Love you girl 💙keep moving forward!
I love the goal tip! It really helps for me to set small goals for the week! I'm so busy so it can be hard to squeeze reading in but the goals make it more doable
I started listening to audiobooks last year and I doubled my reading!
Overdrive has this one called Libby! You can borrow ebooks as well as audiobooks from your local library! You can also register than one library card, so you can have many libraries all in one app for what you're looking for!
Ana C. Do you know the difference between Overdrive and Libby? I got a pop up saying to download it and use it instead of overdrive so I thought they were transitioning but I have just continued to use overdrive
@@kellyreadingbooks They said they aren't transitioning. They're keeping both apps. Libby is just more mobile user friendly. I believe you can also use Overdrive on desktop (unlike libby). But I'm sure they'll be working on that.
This was very much needed since I’m currently in a major slump! Now I’m motivated for this month 😊❤️ Thank you!
Audiobooks definitely helped me get back into reading. Great tips.
Thanks this really helped me. I really need to study and read books to get myself fit! Definitely recommend this!
Thank you these are very helpful tips! And also: I would love an update on quick reads!😊
I started a Book Club, and it’s helping a lot! ☺️ I’m about to surpass my reading goal for the year! 🥳
I’m in a reading slump so this is just what I needed!❤️❤️
I love that your books are colour coded.. 🥰
You're underestimating the depths of my laziness.
Thank you so much Hailey. I usually think of the dnf of books as a dismissal, but I don't utilize it when I am losing interest in a book , but I plan to finish it. I may need to think of it as hitting pause. I am use to reading a book straight through, but some books I may need to take a break from even if it is a few days or weeks in some cases. I also need to listen to audio books at lot more. I love audio books because you can listen and do task at the same time. I can't do that when I am reading.
Great tips! I’ll try them. Love your videos and also I think you are a great role model for young women.
4:18 for me if I’m having trouble focusing on my book and I keep going to my phone, I’ll put my phone on my bookshelf where the book I’m trying to read goes. It’s a nice little motivation for me because I don’t want to put the book back until I finish it and so I won’t get my phone until then 😊
Having a book read to you is the best! It’s partly where my love of books came from. When I was really young I was read to nightly by my step mum while she was teaching me how to read she read the first 3 Harry Potter books to me. I actually would read ahead of where she’d read to me and one night when I was 6 I accidentally read from 8pm to 11pm when she went to bed and she walked past my door and caught me reading so that explains so much. I’m having to read the last 2 books in the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy quite quickly as my sister is reading them and she’s not a reader but she’s read 2 books this year already. So I have to read the quicker than I had previously anticipated so I’m having to put of reading Crooked Kingdom but it’s a good thing because I’m reading more and she’s reading more. Thank you for talking about these books because if I hadn’t seen you talking about them I’d never have read them/ bought them and my sister wouldn’t be having a good time reading. Much love Hailey thank you as well because you’ve broadened my reading horizons these past few years and I’ve read so much more than I would’ve without your recommendations. So much variety of books. You’re amazing!
My no. 1 tip is listening to audiobooks while playing the Sims 4 😂
As a kid in high school, this is very useful. Thank you so much Hailey! 💛
I’m French and I just wanted to tell you that I really loved this video ! Really useful ! Thank you !
thank you so much for the tips!!
Such great tips! Loved this!
this video has been really helpful! also, audiobooks are not for me 😬 i can't keep my focus and always get destracted by my own thoughts hahah. anyone else?
Me
Same here. I can't focus on just listening, my mind just wanders 😕
My mind even wanders sometimes while reading a physical book and I'll just keep reading without taking anything in and having to frequently reread whole pages 😂 So no audiobooks for me
@@mrgreenleafx good point well made!! 😂
Ben Greenleaf sameee
Thank you! This is so helpful 🎀
wow this video is definitely for me 😂 thank you for all the tips. definitely want to try audiobooks this year 💛
Started listening to audiobooks this year and it has been so great. I use Libby primarily but also Overdrive and Hoopla. I think I've already listened to 6 in 2019
Love your hairstyle.
amazing video BTW.
I was so excited to watch this! I love your videos so much! ❤️
Thanks for this video Hailey, I feel like I do need to read more some how with out being lazy and trying to speed read though the book so I could get it done faster and so I could be on my phone sooner, both of those things needs to stop for me.
Good ideas. I find that having a book with me wherever I go helps me to read more.
this is a very helpful video thank you!
Love the video. Would like this for lazy people and writing!
Thanks for the tips and please do a updated quick reads 😁
I always read during my lunch and break at work. It's helped me to read so many more books! And provide a mental distraction during work
good tips hailey! maybe it’s just me, but i don’t count audio books as reading. i’m not physically moving my eyes to get the words in my head, picturing the story. you know what i’m saying? 😅
I totally agree with you, but everyone has to decide for themselves:)
But I wouldn't count audiobooks as read books for myself
you are soooo pretty, hailey!! ♡
I think sometimes the best tip is to just read. We fall out of the habit sometimes and need to kick ourselves back into it so using these tips is a great way to build it back up! Thanks Hailey!
Off subject but you are so pretty!!!
MandaFandaa ikr she’s gorgeous!😻
She’s really pretty !
i knoow right! she's beautiful inside and out❤🌹
aww Thank you I will try
i really love your camera here!!!
this is made for me haha tysm haileyyy
Hailey I love you soooo much! You're so adorable😊 By the way, I'm not a person who's into audio books but nice tips😉
Okay I totally needed this LOL thank you!!!
Finally gave a try to audiobooks and I really enjoy it. In times when I go shopping, for example, I can listen to a book instead of just having random thoughts in my head and it's double productive, basically. I'm already up to 3 audio and I put a bunch on a wish list. I tend to always read in bed, just before it's time to sleep. I read about 2 chapters a night, depending when I go to bed and it works about 80% of the time. It's really good.
Editing Hailey is my favourite
I clicked the like button before you even said "hey, everyone it's Hailey" :) I already know the video is going to be awesome!
I've just started this vid so idk if hailey mentions this but maybe try short stories?? I recently started reading some for required readings and I've read some good ones! Novels will always be my fave tho
I’m gonna try some of these tips out 😊
Omg I needed this video so much!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I already know I will use this tips
aaaah I love this! my biggest problem is starting a lot of books at the same time and finishing none of them 😂
I do this but I tend to go back to them later, sometimes much later
Thank you...motivation for the lazy in us is always welcome...I'm actually gonna implement some of these in how I should also be writing...*coughcough* xoxo TY!!!
You are like my own personal reading therapist !
Reading while sleeping what a magical world I go like that talk😃❤️
Love the idea of audiobooks! There's also this app Libby that helps you check out audiobooks from your library for free which is amazing! I just discovered it recently!
audio books are cool, you get the distinct sounds of the characters voices and you may hear, for example, the distant sound of the train's whistle, but it is not reading. read on the train, in the waiting room, in between meetings, during lunch, before bed, before leaving for work, before the show or movie starts, while waiting for someone...getup early on Saturday or your day off and enjoy it.
I don't know what it is this year, but I'm reading so many books! :o It's going so great! Also I broke my book buy ban whoopsiee! But I'm definitely buying less and borrowing more at the library, so progress is being made
Scribd has been my go to ever since you introduced it to me last year. A vast library of books and audiobooks with unlimited access for $8.99/mo. Amazing.
Wow loved your video the best
Thanks for the help! I really need to start reading more because I love reading but most of the time i just don't have the energy.
I'm the same way! I hope some of these tips help!
We shall read in France, we shall read on the seas and oceans, we shall read with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our books, whatever the cost may be. We shall read on the beaches, we shall read on the landing grounds, we shall read in the fields and in the streets, we shall read in the hills...
I just started listening to Audiobooks and i LOVE IT!! I use the app Scribd cheaper than audible and unlimited books a month.
God it took me forever to be able to DNF books. I'm so glad I've got to be able to do that now :)
I used to read all the time and i loved it. But things changed. And now that it's quarantine I'm trying to get back into reading but it's hard. I hope this works!
What camera and lighting do you use? I always love the look of your videos.
A tip that I heard a few times and that I totally follow is to bring a book with you all the time, so if you have to wait for someone or something you could be reading instead of doing anything else.
Anyway, I liked your tips!
So far in terms of book collecting I have a full shelf of books as well as 2 bags full of books, Right now (as in my age which as of 26/12/20 I am 11) my favourite book/books - Franchise - author is The Harry Potter Series, David Walliams and Rahl Dahl... But don't forget J.K Rowling (Joanne Rowling) :)
Thanks this has really helped 🥰x
Woo! Reading for lazy people!
Starting a booktube channel has definitely been a motivator for reading more. Accountability with mainly strangers :)
Same!!! I have been reading SO much more since doing Booktube videos!
Good tips
Please do an updated quick reads video 😁😁😁
thank you
'Wow that's magical, how did I do that?' 😅
You're hilarious and so nice to listen to! Why don't I watch you more often?
I just finished a really good series, I read like 100+ pages everyday because I didn't want to put it down! Now I'm trying to read a book that u recommend, and now I can't really get into. I'll try what u suggest, hope it works! Thanks for the video!
I tend to read before I go to bed and during ad breaks when I'm watching tv. I find I can read a lot more doing that. I listen to audiobooks when I'm cooking and cleaning or if I'm on public transport since I get motion sickness if I read a physical book. I also like to break up bigger books by reading shorter/easier things like manga or poetry to I feel like I have momentum going.
I never read long books but I picked up Lady Midnight and I’m so intimidated but idk what other book to read (I have an entire room of books) the struggle is so real
Lmao I love how Editor Hailey comes to counter Video Hailey😂😂
Hi thx these are great tips accept you said don’t pick up your phone but the books I’m reading are on my phone so should I or not I’m a bit confused
I don't know why but I can't stand audio books! I just don't enjoy it.
Same
Same I can't focus
Same hear buddy.
Please, Please, Please, Please make a bookshelf tour 2019.
hailey off-topic but i love your shirt idk why
Finally a video made for me🤩!!
- audiobooks
- choose a small book
- choose a non complicated topic that you are interesting in
- do not read as a chore
- do not read laying down (to stay awake)
- stay away from phonr and minimize distractions
- set a goal (realistic) and rewards
- read at the same time everyday (to form the habit)
- accountability: book club, book club with friends, buddy reading
- try speed reading
- if you don't like a book, move on
Another place to get audiobooks and ebooks is Overdrive, just put in your local library and than you can check out books!
This is very helpful! I'm gonna read a little bit before bed now. Oh and also... I really wanna be your friend (creepy?!? I hope not. I just love your sense of humor. Right up my street!) love your videos :)
I've already finished 25 books this month so I need a guide to reading less and getting my life together😂😂
AMAZING JOB!Hope quarantine hasnt messed that up for ya ❣
My eng not that prefect that much can you recommend some stories easy to understand please
It's ok if you want this to be new years thing because it's Chinese New year anyway and it's in February also
